I bought this so I can bike more after work before I have to pick up my kids- trying to juggle being a working parent and staying in shape. It was pretty hard to assemble, I won ’ t lie. But several YouTube videos later( the instructions were all pictures, no words- not very helpful), it ’s on and I love it. Some reviews have complained of wobble, I haven ’ t found that to be an issue at all! Doesn ’ t move at all even when I put 70 on the highway. Keeps my bike super secure and has really helped me exercise more:) I love the feature to tilt the bike rack and base down so I can still access my trunk easily, too. I would definitely recommend but plan to spend a few hours putting it together.

I have been a Thule fan for over 30 years, whether I 'm hauling kayaks, skis, gear or bikes. This T2 Pro XTR is the most recent addition to my Thule collection and I have to say it is the best one yet! It was super easy to assemble, it is crafted with super durable hardware, it adapts out of the box for my fat bike, it is incredibly easy to put on and take off my hitch, it lowers down so I can access the trunk with bikes loaded, and the wheels are icing on the cake. Love love love this rack!!! Thanks Thule!!!

Have had this rack for our e- bikes since 2023 but can no longer load the bikes( 50+lbs) by myself. Is there a ramp or even a retro- fit ramp that anyone can recommend? Otherwise, we 're very satisfied with this rack. Thanks!

I purchased this at the end of December, a little hard to use right now due to the weather in Ontario, Canada. I did take out of the box and put on my car with a couple of bikes. Very easy to get set up and am looking forward to the nice weather to make use of it.

Purchased this recently for family MTB missions in Western North Carolina and I 've been very pleased. It's clean look, especially when folded up and not in use looks great on our BMW. Loading bikes is a breeze and they are always secure as you 'd expect. No complaints, this thing is awesome.

This rack is well built and easy to assemble out of the box. Our first use was a 1000 km car ride which included two ferry crossings and all went well. The bikes are solidly secured to the rack which is solidly secured to the car. I followed the recommendations to verify the car connection after about 300 km but there was no need to adjust it. It's very easy and quick to get the bikes on and off the rack with no risks of scratching them( we did three rides during the trip). In our case( Chrysler 300), there is no need to tilt it to get to the trunk. And once we got back home, it took less than a minute to get it off the vehicle. Overall, I 'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend it.

We 've been out for several times with 3 bikes mounted. The longest trip is 20km one way with the max speed around 70km/h. It feels like very sturdy. One problem for me is the frames of my wife and son's bikes( 20' and 24') are seems a bit tight for it. The paint is scraped a bit. Other than that, it needs a bit of effort when you try to mount two bikes onto adjacent cradle. But it should be a common problem for all cradle racks. Overall, I 'm happy with this product.

OUTSTANDING!! I just purchased the 5 Bike Hitch Rack and drove 1600 miles from FL to MA. It is outstanding! Easy to load and unload. Very safe and stable during travel. Car was a Chevy Tahoe. All the bikes were medium or large.( 2 Hybrids, 2 Mountain, 1 Beach Cruiser) Here ’s the trick- 1. Turn all the handlebars parallel to the bike before loading. It can easily be done with an Allen Wrench. 2. Buy and put crossbars on the bikes w no step over bar. Easy to use. We had 2 of these bikes. 3. Wrap rags and duct tape on any places that bikes may rub. Super happy with the purchase.

I bought the Apex one month ago. The shipping was faster than what I thought. Once out of the box, it was easy to install with clear instructions. It fits good in my 2 inches rack on my mini van. It's a system that you need to lock with a screw and then insert a key so it ca n't be taken off. There's a hook to secure everything, this looks not so sure but as it's made by thule, it comforts me. I only try putting on 2 bikes( one adult/one kid) and it was quite easier than with my previous bike rack. Negative point, the unused straps could fit tighter or smaller so it's even easier to insert the bike, but overall the rack was solid and could n't guess it was there while driving. The fact that it can be fold super fast to open the trunk or to reduce the space behind the car when it's unused is the completely awesome! Overall, super satisfied!

We travel to triathlons, or camping trips and we carry bikes with wheel sizes of 700C, 26 '', 24 '', 20 '', and 16 ''. They all fit and load up quickly. Our house was flooded by Hurricane Ian. Most of the items that went underwater, especially metal, were destroyed by the salt water. We were certain that would include our Saris bike rack, but decided to clean and lube it to see if it could be saved. To our great surprise, it cleaned up and is back in perfect shape. If you have seen how much damage salt water does to metal, especially moving parts like the ones all over the bike rack, you realize how well it is made. Thank you Saris for making such a great product. Made in the USA means something.

I bought this bike rack about 2 weeks ago to use for an upcoming trip and future adventures. I transported 2 Bikes 197 Miles holding a constant 75 MPH. There were no issues with the Bike Rack or any damage to my vehicle. I drive a 2018 Nissan Rogue the Bike Rack was easy to install and did not limit my view. The Bikes were sturdy and did not move a single inch both ways for my trip. I highly recommend this Bike Rack as it's affordable and easy to use.

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.

This rack feels very solid yet is relatively lightweight. Contrast this to the `` hanging design '' of my previous Yakima rack, which was much heavier and cramped, accommodating only three adult bikes at best rather than its claimed four. The levering motion is very smooth to retract/ lower the rack, and getting bikes on and off is a breeze. The instructions could be a bit better, possibly, but maybe a bike rack is something you just have to mess with on your own until you figure it out. Also, one must be sure to keep even the unused frame straps strapped( tightly) to prevent the small grey insulating pieces from blowing off and sailing away while driving.

Tom
This was my third hitch bike rack. My take would be that you can go cheaper and damage your bikes and have the rack fail after 12 months. Or you can go more expensive and get something that looks cooler but adds absolutely no benefit for the core purpose of carrying 4 bikes. Or you can get this rack which does the job perfectly for the best price.

I did tons of research looking for a bike rack to fit two adult bikes and two small kids bikes( 12 ” balance bike and 16 ” pedal bike). We were able to fit our whole family ’s bikes on this rack and it seems super secure. Easy to figure out.

I bought this rack several weeks ago and I am not sure I will ever take it off my SUV. It is a solid rack and very easy to operate. The arms are easily raised and lowered. But, the feature that I love the most is the extension of the rack with bikes on that allows me to open my tailgate. Amazing and so convenient. All my friends are jealous as they have to wrestle or remove with their racks or bikes to do the same. And, the blue on my Saris rack matches the blue on my BMW logo!

Bought this for my 2012 Toyota Camry which only accepts a 1- 1/4 '' hitch receiver making this one of the few 4- bike capable racks that worked with my car. I love the fact that it has wider spacing between each bike to actually fit bikes in each slot. I never understood why the spacing was so narrow on my old superbones 3- Bike rack which this replaced. It worked fine for one or two, but not three. I hope Saris increases the spacing on all its racks like this to further the capabilities of what the customer pays for and ultimately can actually use.

This is my first hitch bike rack. My requirements were that the bike rack would have a hitch lock, a bike lock, and most importantly, have the ability to be moved out of the way when loaded with bikes. That basically brought be down to the Thule and Yakima swing- away hitch racks. Check out the reviews on those and see if you are willing to gamble. Luckily I stumbled upon this offering from Saris. It was a brand new model and totally revolutionary. It took a while to ship as they caught up with production, but it was clearly worth the wait! It is well built, secure, and could n't be easier to use. A simple pull of the trigger and the bikes tilt out of the way. It looks like it would be heavy to push or pull when fully loaded but it truly is effortless. Loading up the bikes is easy as well. Your mileage may vary as we have two typical Trek hybrid bikes, but there was no need for a special mounting bar. The bikes are secured with the ratchet straps with minimal effort and do not sway at all while driving. You will forget that you have bikes in the back when driving. I could go on and on, but it is a bike rack, and it does it's job with grace. Coupled with a lifetime warranty, I have zero regrets about this bike rack. I have no stake in this company and I made the decision to buy this with my own hard- earned money, but I do want to support and represent my hometown of Madison, WI where it was designed and manufactured. USA!

We installed this on our Expedition a few months ago and left it on all summer. It is so convenient to tilt it down and get to the cargo area and it does n't block much of the rear view. We 've taken this on several road trips with 5 bikes attached and it performs really well. Having access to the rear hatch( even with 5 bikes mounted) is a game changer for road trips. It is easier to raise and lower( when loaded with bikes) than I anticipated. When not in use, we keep the arm folded down and it's really low profile. The only downside is that it activates the backup sensor when in reverse. It is challenging to get 5 bikes on at a time, but super easy to fit 1- 3 at a time. With five bikes, you really have to work to make them all fit. We have some smaller bikes for our kids that need the extra crossbar attachments when trying to fit 5 at a time. However, once you get them all loaded it is really easy to lock them with the included cable and they feel very secure. The rack is stiff and does n't move around even fully loaded. After a few longer trips with the bikes all loaded, I did have to tighten the bolt attachment to the hitch and the lower pivot bolts to stiffen it back up, but that seems like normal maintenance for a rack holding almost 150lbs of bikes.

We just recently returned from a 6, 000- mile cross- country road trip with our new rack. We carried two adult mountain bikes, two kids' bikes, and a strider. We had to get a little creative to get them all to fit, but they did. Being able to lower the bikes to access the rear hatch whenever we needed was very helpful.

[ If you want a bike rack that can do it all this is the one. Not only can it fit all of my families bikes it can tilt out of the way fully loaded! It is made of high quality material feel solid. It takes some effort to place on the car hitch and then to tilt( especially when loaded with bikes).

We purchased this for our family of five for use with our minivan. We were skeptical that this would work to have all of our bikes on it and still have access to open the tailgate. However, we have been happy with our previous Saris hitch rack so we decided to give this one a try. We have been on two short trips with this rack and have been very impressed with its ease of use, quality, and performance. I feel fortunate to have gotten this rack before the product was discontinued and I hope Saris continues to have a 5 bike option like this in its lineup.

Love this rack overall. Larger weight capacity, more convenient storing( foldable) and it has locks. Three primary boxes checked! I also like the accessories that are available, making this a very versatile rack! Opportunities: One issue is that it does n't lock in the upright position when your bikes are n't loaded.( I usually leave my rack on my hitch from spring to fall. Not'ny more!) Granted, this `` minus '' is minor because it's simple to hitch and unhitch. I just assumed this would be a default feature on any hitch rack. Another observation is a narrower zone per bike. The distance tray- to- tray is on the EPOS is 9. 5 '' vs 11. 5 '' on my older T2 Pro XT. We have 2 e- bikes, which are pretty big. For this reason, we exchanged our EPOS for the EPOS 3. Now I 'm happy!

Needed to update my rear hitch, bike rack to accommodate the mountain bikes. I am so happy with this product. It ’s easy to use secure easy to lock bikes on wish I bought it many years sooner although it didn ’ t exist at the time it ’s a three car I ’ ve carried two bikes and a regular mountain bike, and worked like a charm highly recommend for regular bikes as well as bikes I have this on my Ford F150 pick up and I put a short extender on it. I know they don ’ t recommend this but it ’s working fine and allows me to put my tailgate down and up without using the tilt feature. The tilt feature is very easy to use, which is also an option.

I purchased this a little over a month ago. I have a 2024 VW GTI. I wanted to use roof bike racks with it, but any roof rack will not allow the sunroof to be opened. I looked around for a hitch bike rack& the epos seemed to check all the boxes. It is built very well, it is very easy to use, putting it on my car is quick,& so is loading my bike on it. I highly recommend it.

The Thule Epos is amazing. Thule thought of everything. It is exceptionally easy to mount. The hitch mount expands to keep the hitch in tight and jiggling down to a minimum. The tire and seat bars move so easily& it folds up in a breeze. It's the best!

I have had this Saris Door County Bike Rack for about 2 years. It is the best built and user friendly rack that I have had. It lowers to the ground and I can just push our Electric Gazelle bikes on, secure them and then it raises to a transport position. NO Lifting!! We have been all over the State of Ohio and we love this Bike Rack. A Huge Safety plus is the taillights on the rack for safety in all kinds of traffic. We have an expensive weather cover for our bikes which blocks our taillights on the vehicle, but these are visible and brighter than the vehicles rear lights. Customer Service is great, with whoever I talked to.. with same day contact with email for service or advice... AnneMarie is great. I highly recommend this company and their products!!!

I bought the rack in early September. Used it 4 times and the electrical components became an issue. First, the rack continued to beep, even when it was completely in the up and locked position. Next, the rack became stuck in the down position and the buttons would not allow for a pause or change to go up. I have taken it to a Saris warranty dealer and hope it can be repaired or replaced. I still think this is an excellent rack for our e- bikes and will continue to use it, once repaired/replaced.

[ I 've only used this 5- 6 times in the last month but it is so easy and solid and I am confident it will last many years. It is light enough to make it pretty easy to install/remove from my cars and the bikes feel locked in with almost no movement once attached. The wedge design to take all the `` wobble '' out of the rack is ingenious and so easy! And I love being able to tip the rack away from my truck and van to allow me to open the tailgate on both while bikes are mounted. This certainly is expensive but they did not cut any corners with the materials of construction or design. After exhaustive research on all eBike racks, it came down to Saris, QuikrStuff, and Inno tire holder type racks. SOOOO many racks to choose from, it gave me a headache. Customer Service answered many questions and took care of my order, very friendly staff. So, the main reason for Saris was design& value of the single tray. PLUS it has something no other manufacturer had: integrated cable lock! Inno customer service was non- existent. QuikrStuff was super pricey with a 6 month wait. The Saris single rack set up weighs in at 56 lbs, ebike weighs 58 lbs, so total weight was lighter 90 lbs lighter than me. Easy to mount to my Ford Maverick. Mount Hitch allows tailgate to open completely when tilted down one- step, Love my Saris MHS DUO 1- Bike Tray, Mount Hitch, and Swing Away.

I have owned this rack for about a month now. Its super solid and easily configured for up to 4 bikes which is why i bought it. My only issue is with the upper wheel wedge when used on road bikes with smaller width tires. The wedge just sort of sits on the back tire when the arm is engaged vs. wrapping around the tire. If the wedge were designed slightly differently or there was an alternate wedge for thinner road tires i would be a little more comfortable with it.

Amazing tray system! The connection between tray and hitch mech is simple and very secure. Love that is comes with threaded lock pin. Love the long locking cables. Love that the tray rotates all the way down down to be used as a bike rack while bikes are unloaded. Love the 4 tray setting points on the hitch mech. I did like they way the previous model trays could collapse to make the entire assembly smaller.

The MH2 replaced my old Thule Carrier. The Thule was great and honestly the only issue I had was it's age and the fact that with the longer MTB of today you were pushing the length of bike you could carry. The MH2 system does n't have that issue and this rack is rated to carry Bike( if you 're into that thing). The lever to lift or drop the tray is light enough my wife can do it with little effort. Everything about the rack has been thought about including the cable lock tightly hiding away with a small rubber outer layer to keep things from rattling.

[ If you 're looking at this, then you should already have the NV2. 0 Base. Easy to attach the base rack w/ the tools provided. You can also attach the bike holder that comes with the base to end of this rack.

We needed something fast for a trip and took a chance on this. Other reviews mentioned needing extra parts; I think this is correct for bikes that do n't have the traditional `` male '' frame with the crossbar from below the seat to the handlebar, but I did not need anything to attach to the trailer hitch. The included parts kept the rack very stable to the hitch and the bikes to the rack itself. As noted in other reviews, pay attention to the instructions, there are anti- sway parts that help keep the bikes from moving side- to- side, and a strap that loops between the bikes and the base of the rack to help keep them from moving back- and- forth. The bikes stayed nice and stable on our trip.

After studying some of the other reviews I purchased this carrier for my SUV and tried it out yesterday on a 60 mile trip to a local bike trail. The rack was set up in no time and the my bike( traditional design) fit on the rack with no issues at all. It ’s important to tighten the rubber straps rather hard to prevent the bike from tilting or slipping sideways, and I would also recommend installing the additional no- sway bracket as well the the additional polyester strap( both come with the carrier) securing the bike firmly against the carrier while the car is in motion. After installing all those straps and brackets, less than 5 minutes, the bike felt very secure. While driving, sometimes up to 75 mph, I watched the bike in the rear view mirror. No vibrations, no moving parts, no swaying. When back home it took one minutes to detach the carrier from the car. Overall, it ’s a great carrier and exceeded my expectations. Would definitely buy again.

[ I got this so that I would have an easier time loading and unloading my kayak onto my car by myself. It's definitely much easier than the J hook style of rack. It feels very sturdy and I 've never had any trouble with anything shifting during long drives. We just received our add on and installed the unit. Despite what others have said about fit and build quality ours fit with no issues and works great. [ As my youngest learned to ride and began joining us on the trails we needed a better way to transport 4 bikes. Going with the T2 Pro( and the add on) is so much easier than the “ hanging ” racks, particularly for four bikes. very solid and stable over bumps and on the highway. If there ’s a downside, it ’s that its pretty heavy in the four bike configuration so less likely to Want to remove the rack from the car frequently.( Two person job for sure.). The integrated cable locks making stopping for a bite possible although they ’ re not long enough for both wheels and frame so for overnight stops With expensive bikes an additional locking setup would probably be wise. You can also order cylinders for the extension to match the base rack so you ’ ll only need to carry one key( strongly recommended.

Very impressed with the design, fit, and function of the GateMate PRO. It took a little fiddling with it to get it to sit on the tailgate correctly( I only had one set of pad blocks over the top at first) but once I readjusted it fit my RAM 1500 perfectly. The straps took a bit of finesse to work through the gap between the bottom of the gate and the truck bed, but that is more a function of how the truck was designed. I plan to keep a small piece of bent coat hanger wire in one of the pockets to help me pull the straps through the gap when I install it again. The Cannondale mountain bikes we hauled sat neatly in the cradle of the foam pads and the straps secured them incredibly well to the truck. For all of the goofballs that complained about the length of the strap in the other reviews- All you have to do is wrap the strap around the frame tube one extra revolution THEN thread it through the plastic ring and cinch it tight. Makes me wonder how some people manage to find their way out of bed in the morning, but I digress. This method of one extra wrap around the frame tube provides a really nice grip on the frame. We drove a couple of hundred miles so far with the bikes strapped down and they do n't wiggle or bounce at all. The mesh storage pockets are a nice touch, as is the cutout that provides access to the tailgate handle and backup camera. The material that sits against the vehicle paint is incredibly soft. Sure, there may be cheaper options out there but they certainly do n't appear to be as well- made as this one. VERY pleased with the purchase!
