Bought this last month so my husband and I could take our bikes around to different trails in Maine. The rack is easy to use and easy to put on and off my SUV. No fuss and low profile if you want to leave it on your vehicle for an extended time. Super easy to fold it down to open hatch.

Good rack. ... Good bike rack ... Bike rack installs easily, feels solid, easily moves out of the way. ... Decent mount ... On the plus side, it seems pretty sturdy, though there is a bit more movement in the joints than I expected, so at first I was really worried about the bikes bouncing around...

I was looking for a non- hitch rack that allows me to open/close the rear hatch without removing the rack. This system fits the bill. It's a little tricky to learn the assembly, but once done, you do n't have to disassemble for storage. You can also leave it on the car after the bikes are removed because the arms fold down and lock.

When it first arrived we thought it would n't work on my 2010 Ford or my husbands 2002 Jeep Cherokee, found out it works perfect with both vehicles and holds the bikes sturdy and still while driving on the highway and backroads.

I did some research prior to purchasing this bike rack and low and behold Thule is one of the leading companies making them. This bike rack is very well constructed and I did spend more on it than I wanted to, but I truly believe that it will hold up. Everyone I know who cycles and has these bike racks tells me stories of how they hold up forever. This is my first bike rack, and I put it on the back of my new Prius and it fits perfectly. I put two bikes on it and drove over an hour on the Interstate and NO issues at all! It is very sturdy! It is a little more expensive, but you will not regret buying it. I have NO regrets and if it were to get stolen I would definitely buy another Thule bike rack!

We bought new bikes and needed a bike rack. Most of the models in the store only carried 2 bikes. This one held 3, so it was our only choice. The best part about this purchase was that the manager sent an associate out to our car to help us assemble the rack and load the bikes on. He was very polite and helpful. We tried to give him some money when we were done, but he refused. Said it was part of his job. The rack was easy to assemble and is easy to use.

This is my second Saris SuperClamp I have purchased. I gave my first one to my son and daughter- in- law so they could transport their two bikes. What I love the most about this one is the tilt so you can get into your trunk as well as the fact that when you tilt it back in you have more space in the garage. Also like the addition of the wheel straps on this. I am 5' 1 '' so it is important that it is light weight and easy enough to handle. I put it together with no problems.

[ This is my 2nd Superclamp. The first one was destroyed when someone rear ended me. The Superclamp absorbed the blow and saved my car! Two things I like most of that I can fold the rack up and still open the lift gate of my Grand Cherokee and it is easy for my wife to load and unload her bike. Great stable rack that is easy to use.

[ This was super easy to put together out of the box. Probably took about 10 or 15 minutes. It folds up out of the way when there's not bikes on it. We have an electric bike that's pretty heavy so I needed something hefty. I feel like this bike rack fits the bill.

[ Instillation was simple and quick as is securing the bikes. I used an aftermarket hitch stabilizer for some extra stability. Bikes feel secure in the rack. I took a heavy pedal assist and fairly light hybrid from NYC to Maine and back without issue. The pedal assist has front and back fenders but it was not an issue when securing the bike. I used the built in locks for front tires and my own heavy chains an locks for the bikes when I could n't bring them in and had no issues. It was tricky to find a rack for a 1. 25inch hitch that could solidly secure a heavy pedal assist with front and back fenders and I 'm happy the Saris does this with ease.

[ I purchased this bike rack because it would fit a 1- 1/4 inch hitch and it would carry two 60- lbs bikes. It was the best heavy- duty rack that I found at a decent price and with good reviews.

Bought this a month ago. Have only used on one trip, but worked great. Driving country roads that need some TLC, and handled the ruts beautifully! Easy to build, but directions have no words. Would buy again. Needed a little WD40 to get the mast to move into the right position the first time.

Originally I purchased the traditional car bike rack but with having two mountain bikes the fit was just two tight and the bikes were are odd angles. I returned it to Dicks with no issues and purchased this one. It took a few minutes to setup but for the most part it is pretty straightforward. The rack is not to heavy and works very well. It is not a heavy duty as the original bike rack I returned but I suspect it will hold up just fine. If I was to pick out any weak points it would be the plastic adjustment knobs other than it should be fine.

[ Just bought this to do the Empire State Trail. It easily held my panniers which were fairly heavy. Reasonably easy to install though does take a few steps and tools
When selecting a mountain bike rack, consider the type of vehicle you have and the rack's compatibility with it. Look for features such as weight capacity, ease of installation, and security options to protect your bikes. Additionally, think about how many bikes you need to transport and the style of the rack, whether it's hitch-mounted, trunk-mounted, or freestanding.
Mountain bike racks come in several types, including hitch-mounted, trunk-mounted, and freestanding options. Hitch-mounted racks are popular for their ease of use and stability, while trunk-mounted racks are often more affordable and versatile. Freestanding racks are ideal for storage at home or in garages, providing a convenient way to keep bikes organized.
To ensure your mountain bike rack is secure during transport, make sure it is properly installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check that all straps, clamps, and locking mechanisms are tight and functioning correctly before hitting the road. It's also a good idea to periodically inspect the rack during long trips to ensure everything remains secure.
Many mountain bike racks are designed to accommodate various bike sizes and styles, including mountain bikes, road bikes, and hybrids. However, it's important to check the specifications of the rack to ensure it can handle the specific dimensions and weight of your bikes. Some racks come with adjustable features to better fit different bike frames.
Mountain bike racks are typically made from durable materials such as steel or aluminum, which provide strength and stability. Steel racks are often heavier but can support more weight, while aluminum racks are lighter and more portable. Additionally, some racks may have protective coatings to resist rust and corrosion, enhancing their longevity.
Yes, there are mountain bike racks designed specifically for certain types of vehicles, such as SUVs, sedans, or trucks. It's essential to choose a rack that is compatible with your vehicle's make and model to ensure a proper fit and safe transport. Some racks may also offer adjustable features to accommodate different vehicle designs.
