First off, it's been a while since I 've had a smart watch, I believe a first gen Apple. This thing is amazing! I mainly wanted it to track fitness, as I 'm always concerned with using battery life on my phone for Strava, so having this has been a game changer. The battery life is crazy good! And it seemlessy integrates with Strava, and even Apple Health. And, it tells time too! There are so many functions this thing can do that I 'm not even aware of, but just being able to track fitness, check emails and texts, and see what time it is without having to pull my phone out of my pocket has been a game changer. It's been great so far...

While a Garmin is still not as “ smart ” as an Apple Watch, the fenix 8 amoled is starting to play in the same ball park. I ’ ve been very happy to return to Garmin for the sport functions after several years with Apple Watch and AWU. The battery life is still unmatched.
5
Ian M
I bought the Fenix 8 after a couple of less- than- optimal experiences with competitor products. After several months with the watch, I am convinced that there is not a more thoughtfully designed sports watch on the market. Everything on this watch just works, and Garmin has thought of everything. Even small details like the watch automatically ejecting water from the speaker after a watersports activity speak to the level of detail that Garmin focused on when designing this watch. The software is fast and fluid, the screen is brilliant, and the health and exercise data collected is precise and presented in a useful and palatable format. The only thing that I feel could use some improvement with the watch is that when I take a phone call from the watch, there is evidently a lot of microphone feedback, as in people talking to me through my watch hear a significant echo of everything they say. Overall, an excellent watch that I feel is well worth the higher price tag.
5
Liam D
From backpacking, to running, to working out, this watch does it all. Instead of asking what this watch can do, the better question is what can it NOT do. The battery life is amazing and the GPS capabilities are unmatched. The AMOLED face is super bright even in the direct sunlight. Definitely not a watch that a beginner would need, but an amazing tool for an avid explorer and athlete!

I love it. I use it everyday. I charge it once a weekend but I think I could charge it once every 2 weeks which is a total upgrade from my apple watch that I had to charge every night. I don ’ t use the sleep app but there ’s so many features that I don ’ t even realize how useful it is!

Upgraded from my Fenix 7 to get the full color display. Much more vibrant and readable, with excellent battery life( about 3 weeks with moderate GPS use). As with prior models, it is a bit of a chore to get the menus, display fields, and the watch face customized to your liking, but after that, it just works, with excellent functionality. Main hesitation in recommending it is just the price. Unless you use the microphone/speaker functions( which I do only occasionally) the main upgrade from recent models is the display and battery life.

This is my first ever Garmin Watch. So far I am incredibly impressed! It is so nice I am hesitant to get it dirty and am afraid to scratch it. However, it is incredibly durable and I am amazed at how accurate the rep count is and how comfortable the watch is. There is so much customization and features available! I got an amazing deal on my epix watching for sales. All the features are great. Awesome battery life. The OLED screen looks amazing but have to do more than tip it to my face for it to engage. When sleeping and I need to see the time. It is great it glows but I have to touch it to my nose to turn on the screen;). Otherwise excellent training watch. Favorite feature is the sapphire screen. Brilliant technology.

Advanced features and technology great for someone looking to utilize the recommendations or sync with other software programs. The size is large and looks bulky so may not be comfortable for someone looking for a compact watch.

A thru hiker can upgrade the navigational systems with this device. Connecting a triad of communication platforms. An emergency satellite beacon,( mini pro 2), A phone and the device itself. Providing an addition map reference, more convenient to use. Reducing the chances of losing navigation along with your phone as you can secure the phone as wearing the device. Stay away from the higher devices designed for scuba diving and long range gunnery sites too much and unnecessary( not worth with the cost for the purpose a Sojourner requires.) Unless you hauling a 105 Howitzer thru the forest.( Other smart watches are made for that.) Sum up this review not only am I satisfied but impressed. My health and my workouts are being greatly aided..( DOCTORS SOON THESE THINGS ARE GOING TO TAKE YOUR JOB). Ps. My nickname has nothing to do with Bambi.. GOD Bless.

My `` Subscription '' for my ARCCOS sensors was up for renewal and the cost was$ 155, up from the$ 120 previously. The system pretty much sucks and is totally inaccurate- especially with putting. So it was decision time. Researched and wound up buying the X5. WHAT A PLEASURE! 1st- FREE SENSORS, 2nd- NO SUBSCRIPTION, 3rd- IT 'S ACCURATE!! Sturdy and robust design built for the hardships of everyday wear in all conditions. Great fitness tracking, gps, sleep monitoring, and the flashlight is awesome. UI is kind of weird like in most garmin products but the button interface makes it friendlier than most. Best suited for the committed adventurer and athlete. The solar display is less vibrant so watch faces can be a bit dull, the simpler face the better.

If you want a watch that can track any activity and has a battery last for weeks look no further. This watch does it all, with accurate GPS tracking and long battery life it is perfect for my uses. I mainly use it for running and cycling and its amazing. While this has all the bells and whistles it is definetley meant for the more serious consumer. It may be too much for the beginner with the price.
5
Jeremy S
The battery life is great on it, using this watch for all around activities but tracking your runs are great, I love that the screen is pretty much unbreakable and that the bezel doesn ’ t catch too much light causing glare. Very simple to use out the box, and recommended to set it up on the app for a quicker and easier set up. Don ’ t think about buying it. Just buy it. One of the biggest surprises for me was how much the detailed metrics opened my eyes to things I wasn ’ t even accounting for before—like recovery time, heart rate variability, and sleep quality. I used to just track basic distance and time, but this watch really shows you the full picture of your health and performance. It's helped me make smarter decisions about training, rest, and even daily stress management. The build quality is amazing too—super tough yet surprisingly lightweight for how durable it feels. The sapphire crystal and solar charging are a game- changer; I barely worry about battery life even with heavy GPS use. Navigation features are also top- tier, and I love how intuitive the touchscreen is without sacrificing the classic button setup. Another huge plus: the mapping and outdoor features are incredibly detailed. Whether I ’ m running, hiking, or cycling, the watch keeps me locked into the route and even alerts me if I go off track. It ’s truly a complete adventure companion. If you want something that not only tracks your workouts but genuinely helps you optimize your lifestyle, this watch is worth it.

This was a replacement for my Apple Watch. Never going back again. I like the rugged styling, which encourages activity, rather than being just an accessory. Lots of features, many of which I haven ’ t explored yet. Some of the interface controls are a bit confusing. It took me a long time to decide on the model I wanted, considering that there isn ’ t a easy way to compare all the available features and decide which one I want for the price point. Apart from the above, this one is a keeper. It almost grows on you.
5
EpixProGen2
This is my second Garmin, I also have the Instinct Crossover Solar( great watch). The Epix Pro( gen 2) has a bright display, ease of function, more data and tracking than anyone could need. The gps is the most accurate I have seen. The battery life is excellent, but I keep the watch face on the basic analog out of the box one, all I need. Easily my favor smart/sports watch, fits my lifestyle well. Though pricey, if you are looking for an Apple alternative, you can ’ t go wrong and will be more the pleased. Added value for uploading music to the expansive storage and ditching your phone during activities. Great buy. 5 stars.
5
Greg M
The functionality of this watch is seemingly endless. It is great for regular wear and covers normal watch features, and the screen is bright and easily visible even in sunlight, which is a huge change from other digital watches I have had. The exercise tracking provides a plethora of health tie ins that really give a good idea of how effective that walk, run or hike was and the GPS mapping shows performance throughout the entire route. I ’ m not entirely sure about the sleep tracking. It seems to do a fair job, but sometimes tells me I had a nap when I have just been reading or watching a movie. Great idea and probably some real functionality to it. Lastly, the look is perfect. The dark grey titanium and the sapphire glass is awesome, and the ability to change screens and straps means you can have multiple “ different ” watches with very little extra cost. Overall, this watch is exactly what I have been looking for.

I received this watch as a Father ’s Day gift and I absolutely love it. I ’ ve worn this watch for 10 days and still have 50% of my battery remaining. In addition to the awesome battery life, I like the numerous watch faces on the Venu 3. I now wear my Garmin Venu 3 all of the time and have dumped my Apple Watch which required daily charging.
5
Vilhelm3
I bought this Venu3 3 weeks ago to replace my previous( other brand) smartwatch, and am very happy with this choice. All the measurements seem to be more accurate. I am getting 5- 6 days of battery use, with about an hour and a half of GPS every day. The display is easier to see, and much easier to activate. The watch is more comfortable to wear, too. It took me 2- 3 days to get used to Garmin's modes of operation( might have been faster if I had read the instructions), but they are logical and intuitive once I unlearned the previous device's methods.

I love the Garmin ecosystem and have invested heavily in the Garmin fitness products as well as navigation. Coming from the Fenix 5 and Forerunner 955 Solar, I noticed some features didn ’ t carry over to the 7X Pro Sapphire Solar. I miss being able to see Notifications in a folder and the lack of wear- detection passcode are creature comforts for daily wear that I would, personally, like to see back. Other than that, I can ’ t recommend the watch and ecosystem enough.

This has been the best fitness watch I 've owned. I used to be a Fitbit person, but since switching to Garmin, I 'll never go back. The solar charging feature with this particular model is advantageous for outdoor users. There are many features with this watch that might be more geared towards experts, but anyone can benefit from it. Personally, I enjoy the GPS features( on- watch map, compass, altitude, etc.), sleep data, and keep track of my activities including swimming with its good resilience to water.
