It looks pretty unique on its own but it does look pretty goofy on me compared to other more conventional looking ones. Looks aside, it ’s fits and feels right.

I repeatedly hiked out of ice crags and alpine environments not realizing I ’ m wearing my helmet until I knocked it on the roof of my car while getting in. The best helmet is the one you don ’ t know you ’ re wearing. I previously had an old petzl hard shell helmet and while comfortable, you knew you were wearing a helmet. We ’ ll see how this holds up long term, but after most of an ice climbing season, it ’s still pristine.

I 've used this solely for outdoor rock climbing so far. It's been amazing. The helmet is extremely breathable. It manages to stay on your head while your shifting it around, due to the highly adjustable fit. Numerous people have used it, and its been well liked due the the adjustability. I have used it in cold and rainy weather, and it fits seamlessly into my Mammut Eiger Extreme shell. Overall a great helmet for getting into climbing.

I 've purchased many helmets for climbing/scrambling, and this is by far my favorite. It is lightweight enough that I barely notice it on my head or attached to my pack, it's extremely comfortable, and it fits over a hat if I want to wear one. I also like the low- fuss adjustments of the soft nylon straps in the back, which other helmets that I 've tried often make out of hard plastic, which can be uncomfortable. It fits snug, and though I( thankfully) have n't had to test its performance in a fall/during rockfall, I have no doubt it will do its job. I was a little worried about the durability of the exposed foam, but after carrying it through a heavy hailstorm and generally banging it around in the back of the car or on whatever summit I take it off on, I ca n't spot a single dent.

Overall, I really like this helmet. First of all, I only considered MIPS helmets due to previous personal injuries. In the climbing industry, so far, there's only a few of them as I write this: this one, Smith, and two Black Diamond ones. The Black Diamond Capitan was too heavy for me, and the other Black Diamond was a contender, but in the end, the sizing was off, and even the largest size did n't fit my head well. This Wall Rider MIPS helmet is lightweight, comfortable, and so far, it has been durable. I 've used it on 10+ trips over the course of a year, and it has n't shown wear- and- tear, although the white top has gotten scratches( cosmetic) and is no longer pure white. The only downsides I would say are that the chin strap took me a while to dial down the sizing to where I wanted it( the strap barely covers my ears) and that the helmet sometimes covers part of my eyes if I look down too much, not staying in place. That is annoying when I 'm climbing, and sometimes I have to readjust the helmet by pushing it backwards so that it does n't cover part of my top eyesight.

[ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology—Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

Kids Captain is great! We have some very adventurous kiddos and so having a helmet that is good for both bikes and climbing is such a great design. [ Ca n't speak to the safety as I 've not had any impacts, but this helmet is comfortable and easy to adjust. I 've experienced with other helmets that the ear loops are too close to my lobes for comfort, but this one's are not.

[ Picked this up for difficult routes and belaying. Honestly, have n't had to use it yet, but I do n't have any reason to think it would n't work! The rear adjustment is really nice, I like it better than other helmets with a knob style adjustment. If purchasing again, I 'd go with the smaller size to better fit my head. This is my second one with the MIPS system. It takes a bit of time to dial in the straps, but one set up, this helmet is excellent.

My wife wanted me to wear a helmet and bought me this. It was a nice snug fit and very comfortable. It stayed in place so well I quit buckling the chin strap. Well the wife saw the undone chin strap and gave me an earful. First just a huge fan of Mammoth stuff. Great gear, high quality and has a good look to it. This is a good helmet for climbing, biking, and honestly if you are n't worried about fashion on the jobsite can get away with it on some low key sites. The chin strap gets you points with the safety crew. But note it is not TYPE 2, so no help on that. Just type 1 and EN 12492. All good and Mammoth keep making cool stuff!
