Perhaps the best backpack Nike has never made. Within a span of 4 years I ’ ve collected two with a third on the way. Well engineered and stitched together. I ’ ve use it as a personal carry bag, hauled it through congested city streets on two continents and multiple cities and even used a gym bag with all sorts of gear and at most two pairs of shoes comfortably. The side pockets can hold two 32 ounce vacuumed sealed water bottles without any issues. The top small pocket intended for sunglasses has enough ample space for additional items like headphones and a case for glasses. Fully loaded I ’ ve ever had one of these backpacks is at most 45 pounds. Shoulder straps are wide and really comfortable. The adjustability of the shoulder straps is effortless. The addition of the sternum strap gave more stability for heavier loads. The MOLLE style attachment points makes this bag even more versatile to add more items to the face and sides of this bag and has came in clutch many times over. It ’s over built enough for many years of extensive use. They ’ re a bunch of key features I ’ m forgetting but overall you can not go wrong with this bag. Definitely worth it ’s weight in gold!

I used this pack for the first time on a 12 mile round trip overnight stay at a lake. It held everything I needed- I am an over packer too- and I still had room to pack out a few extra things like camp garbage. The hip support pads were nice and cushioned and didn ’ t chafe my skin like other packs, but I did notice my hips more sore than normal the day after. I wish there was more exterior pockets for smaller items, but the top cover having such a large pocket did the trick for me to access things like headlamp, bug spray, and some snacks. I ’ m very loyal to TNF brand and was reluctant to replace my well used spectrum pack, but very happy with my purchase and look forward to more use.

[ I am pretty impressed with this pack. I have a few very high end hunting packs and they always seem to cut off some hip circulation. With a 3 night off trial campsite this pack was fantastic! I was skeptical but this pack performed very well. I really liked the U- zip access, huge hip pockets, and the side pockets that I can grab a waterbottle from while wearing the pack. A couple of things I did n't like: those huge hip pockets left no room for a bear spray holster, there is no way for the lid to double as a separate pack for little jaunts from camp, and the hip belt was maxed tight on my 34 '' waist in the Med/LG frame choice. I could get the waist belt tight enough but if I stopped eating cookies...

[ When they say not all things are created equally, they are referring to this backpack. I use it to replace my work bag and boy was it a great choice. I can fit my laptop, cables, mouse, and all my documents in. The compartments and the side zipper allow for easy access. The draw string feature is great as many zippers tend to wear out and I like that you can losen/tighten to your own comfort level. The handle on the top of the back pack is really different from others and is easy on the hands when grabbing. The materials don ’ t feel cheap and they are easy to clean. I like the water bootle compartment as well as the slot to add it to a carry on luggage for easier transportation when traveling. I can see this being used in a variety of ways. I can see myself using it to travel as well. The subtle brand in the front is nice and gives it that high end look. The straps feel really well on the shoulders and the padding is great. I have n't used this pack but it looks great, with excellent materials, pockets and overall construction. It also seems to tick most boxes for ultra runners who may be doing multi- day events requiring a lot of mandatory gear. Some runners may question the design choice of having only one side of the vest strap capable of carrying a 500ml soft flask. Perhaps this is the preferred option for fastpacking but having capacity for two soft flasks in addition to two zippered pockets on either side like the BD Distance 15 pack would be ideal, at least for ultra runners.

First, I have to say that I was excited when I got this backpack; the fabrics and the implementation are outstanding excellent job Black Diamond. The fast backpack idea with those extra shoulder straps makes this backpack ideal. Not only is this one waterproof or almost, but it is merely one of the best backpacks I ever owned. Believe it or not, I have tried several UL backpacks in my career. The only downside I see is that the shoulder pocket with the zipper is too tiny to hold a standard- sized cell phone comfortably. If I had a bigger one, I could guarantee it would never fit inside.

The Large size Betalight45 fits me very well. The shoulder straps are comfortable with a loaded pack and the hip belt sits properly to take some weight. I 'm 6' 3 '', 180lbs, my torso is 21. 5- 22 '' according to BD instructions. I measured the actual volume of the main bag to be 46L and still able to roll closed. Had this a couple of months and just took my first trip. I bought a pair of ski boots and checked them with my luggage. On my return trip I was worried they would get banged up so a light bulb went off. Could I possibly fit two huge size twelve ski boots in my Peak design. Holy crap. They fit like a glove. As if they were designed for the bag. Bonus, I said hmmmm. I wonder if I can use the straps to tie my helmet to the outside. boom works perfectly. And I also put my tech bag, lap top, iPad, kindle, head phones, goggles, etc in the bag and I need even need to expand to 45 liters. I also bought the sling bag which I carry in the bag and use as a day pack, it takes up zero room in the bag. Oh and I am still finding little compartments I did n't know where there. THERE IS NOT OTHER BAG ON THE MARKET AS GOOD AS THIS. Oh, I know I am a bag junky and I own all the others as well.

I got this backpack to prepare for my 3 month trip in the Caribbean and it ’s has been so helpful to say the least. I have an overpacking problem but all of the different compartments and pockets made it so I could fit everything I needed. The support on the backside of it helps so much with my back pain and doesn ’ t make me feel exhausted at the end of a busy travel day. Furthermore, the top bit comes off as a smaller backpack which was perfect for day trips. The only thing i would change would be the smaller buckles that attach the front pocket to the bag, they were a little weak. However, I don ’ t have any worry they will come undone when I check it at the airport. Overall, this bag has been a HUGE help!! It definitely has made my traveling much easier.

This is a great backpack for the price. I am giving it 5 stars because it's everything you would want and need in a pack. The middle zipper opening is an amazing feature that allows you to get into your items without having to pull everything out from the top like a conventional pack. One downside are the hip straps. I feel they could be slightly larger for the size of pack, I had some discomfort but nothing terribly bad, likely had more to do with me being out of shape as well. I recommended this to a buddy and he has one and uses it quite often like myself.

A bundle of cleverly stitchless fabric and features. My beloved prev generation Distance 15 was( un) fortunately lifted off me last month. Was grateful when 22 came back in stock, and super stoked with the reconfiguration of how the straps attach to the pack, and how the pockets have been set up. Work MUCH better! A leeetle disappointed that the way the pack opens was not really addressed-- they just made the opening loop a brighter colour. Too often I grab the pack by the stretchy closure instead of the loop, so I worry for longevity of the elastic. Why not attach the elastic+ hook to the lid side, and incorporate the handle into the lid opening mechanism? Grab, unhook, pull- to- open in one motion, and wo n't accidentally grab the loose elastic of an open bag. While you 're at it, maybe swap the stretchy inside zippered pocket and use something woven and non- stretchy, for durability.:)

Awesome bag I am not a runner but I loves this for climbing and long days in the mountains. Sits high staying out of the way of my harness and being able to keep food and water handy is nice. Took it up the grand with a 60m rope and a good amount of other gear and it was surprisingly comfortable.

I ’ m really happy about this pack. I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ’ ’ slender and chose a medium, which I ’ m happy with. I use it for long days in the alpine including hiking, scrambling, and easier alpine climbing. I sometimes run on my way down hill and this works good for that option. I usually carry extra shoes( running or approach), layers and day trip essentials. I ’ ve maxed it out once with basics for an alpine climbing day trip with a simple trad rack, harness, rope, helmet, and the rest. It did all right. The pole side storage works well but I only use pole with a large heavy pack, so not very useful for me. And those compartments are a bit too small to fit other things such as shoes which would have been great if it did. I ’ ve used it only about 5 times so far but very happy about it and I highly recommend this vest style of daypack. We ’ ll see in 5 years how it is durability wise.

I ordered this bag& had it personalized for my 13 year old daughter. She has 2 lacrosse sticks and was carrying a bag with her sticks and a 2nd bag with her other equipment in it. It was just too much to carry& keep up with. She LOVES this bag!! It holds both of her sticks, cleats, goggles, mouthpiece and numerous other items. She even has room to add her turf cleats once we buy those this coming Spring. Received this bag a few days ago, but it already seems like it 'll work great. There's plenty of space inside the bag. For me, it fit 5 notebooks, a decently sized pencil case, a laptop, lunch without looking overstuffed. The straps are comfortable once you 've been wearing it for a few minutes. An added plus is that the bag stands up straight without being propped up on something. Overall, this backpack seems like it's well- made and durable compared to more expensive brands.
