Consistent sizing, no hot- spots or areas where the cinch system pinches or stabs my head. I chose this because of the magenta/purple color and love it. While it's marketed as a youth helmet, it can fit a woman's head. I 'm a 5' 4 '' adult woman, and my head size is 55- 56, so within the 50- 57 size. I tend to have a `` hot head, '' but the ventilation on this helmet is excellent, so my hair was n't wet after a 1- hour bike ride. It fits well, is super lightweight and comfortable, and the Roc- Loc fit system allows a perfect fit. My only scare was the Roc- Loc was fully tightened when shipped, so when I first tried it on I thought it was too small. Once we loosened it, it fit well, and then even better once tightened.

I prefer this style of helmet over the conventional high ventilation ones, namely because of the aesthetics. Size M fits my noggin quite snug and I feel this will protect me. I 've been riding for years without a helmet, and finally realized, `` huh, this is a little dumb to be biking on busy roads without one. '' While I hope no one buying this ever has to put it to the test, it's a great helmet, and one I actually WANT to wear.

The helmet is very lightweight, has a lot of vents to keep me cooler on long rides in summer heat. I passed up the dark red and black helmet that would have looked great with my bike in order to get the bright white color that would be more visible to motorists. It is lighter weight than the good Bell helmet I replaced, and the straps are lighter, more flexible material. Very pleased with this helmet.

This is both my first Giro brand helmet and my first MIPS technology helmet. I like how Giro has the side straps set already so that's two less buckles to adjust and loosen on their own. Coming from Bell helmets I had to get used to adjusting the straps by pulling to center them each wear no biggie for better comfort. Speaking of comfort the dial to tighten in the back is much better than Bell helmets. The MIPS technology allows the helmet to move slightly while staying right to your head to reduce injury in a collision. As a former racer, courier, and bicycle commuter I can feel how that would help. I hope I never need it Overall the best helmet I 've ever owned.

[ Over the last 12 months, when it comes to mountain biking, I have completely gone over the deep end. I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. I do n't race and I consider myself an intermediate rider, but I am willing to push myself to get better and try new terrain/features. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full- face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face- guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face- guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology — Why go full- face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

It's light, fits and breathes well, even on the hottest of days, while being fully adjustable to fit with or without a skull cap. About the only thing that it falls short on is the straps are shorter than I 'd like, such that I only have about an inch of strap beyond the buckle and would prefer to see another 1- 2 inches for better adjustability. This seems to be Bell's new norm, after many years where their straps tended to be too long.

While it took some time learning how to `` install it, '' it was comfortable, and its weight could barely be felt. I would have given it five stars, but for the chin strap securing feature. Great helmet, covers enough to protect my head( I 've had 4 concussions) yet it's not huge, I 'm a small so less is more. I really like the built- in sunglasses however it's really hard to wipe your sweat above the brow and when you blow your nose it sprays inside the lens( LOL). I 'm a triathlete so I 'm on the bike for several hours during a race and it's nice to be able to do those things. Looking forward to my next race where I can get used to it more but I definitely feel well protected in it which is the whole point.

It ’s very lightweight and with the various sizes of cheek pads and headliner I was able to custom fit it to my liking. First ride with this was a full day at a bike park. As a nurse I naturally worry about my husband ’s and my own well being. I have never been big on helmets as they usually give me a headache so when we ride we wear ballcaps to protect against the sun. My husband likes to ride alone and of course i worry about him while he is riding by himself. I always make sure he is wearing his hat and a bright shirt and tell him to be careful. While i previously did not own a helmet my wife had a helmet that she would Periodically wear. Mostly she wore it when biking with her parents, who wear helmets. It was white and very plain with few vents was likely the first helmet ever made. I actually think it is older than she is, probably a hand me down a from a much older sibling who likely never wore it. Not only is it heavy, it has a white foam interior and an impossible to adjust buckle land looks pretty dated. When she wears it she does not have much to say good or bad. When we would ride just the two of us she almost never wears it. Occasionally when I would ride alone she would remind me that i was more than welcomed to wear her helmet. i did end up wearing it for some additional protection last fall when there were wet leaves. It was actually nice peace of mind however it was of poor fit and I was terrified that was the way all helmets fit and did not pursue getting one of my own. This past weekend i was going out on a long ride and my wife handed it too me saying “ it will make me feel better ”. So of course i wore it. I forgot it was on and did not duck low enough under a tree branch and hit it hard enough that it broke. when I returned home from a ride i told her i broke her helmet and suggested i would get her a new one. I found the kineticore in white at public lands and bought it. I tried it on and was impressed with how it fit. My wife couldn ’ t believe how much better it was than the old. it is so well vented light and comfortable you she forgets she has it on. My wife is now asking when i will get my own. I apparently have a big head( the giro women ’s universal helmet didn ’ t eve fit on my head). I purchased this helmet because it was a good blend for the type of riding I do- sometimes bike trails, gravel, and road riding. I have always used Smith helmets for skiing and am impressed with them- the helmets fit well and the koroyd gives superior protection without being uncomfortable. So enter the Network helmet choice. I am very pleased with the performance of this helmet- the fit is great and it has has just the right amount of added koroyd protection. The helmet still vents well and the extra protection is something that I appreciate and hope to never have to use. I have read reviews that indicated this helmet a little heavy but I have not found that to be the case. The additional slide in sun visor is also useful and have used that on bike trails an don some gravel rides. Overall great helmet- the color selection that accompanies these helmets is also very nice.

What can I say or how do I even begin… As I am writing this review to you Smith Sports Optics on this 3rd week from my accident I was struck from behind by a motorist traveling at 45+mph in the bike- lane that didn ’ t see me because he was negligently on his mobile phone… Currently I ’ m healing/recovering from my injuries of a acetabular fracture, fractured right clavicle& major muscle tears to my left tricep… Carbon Road Bike is completely totalled, Smith helmet is completely totalled but one thing, it saved my life! This is an extremely comfortable and well made helmet. The Ignite design looks great and it is very practical- the vents help regulate heat and still allow for a very aero product. This is my go to helmet for both racing and training rides. 10/10 would recommend the Ignite helmet!
