The Garmin 965 is the perfect watch for those who want to get into any activity, indoors or outdoors, but who does n't want the full suite of features the Fenix series offers. Since buying and setting up this watch, I have only had to charge it a handful of times. The touchscreen is super useful to be interacting with all of the features on the AMOLED screen. The stress and heartrate monitoring while I 'm sleeping is really nice too. Now that the 970 is out, this is an excellent deal if you can find one on - sale!

So far, the Forerunner 55 is an awesome watch to have. Pretty accurate heart rate, step counter, running, GPS, and cycling functions. I have yet to fully test the water resistance capabilities but I ’ d bet my bottom dollar on it. I ’ d recommend on buying a screen protector for it just in case; it comes in handy for people who are prone to bumping their wrist in small/tight places. Furthermore, I was cycling to a local lake to go fishing on Memorial Day and the Forerunner 55 automatically activated a cycling activity. Pretty good stuff.:)

[ Bought this last month. First of, MJ was great in replacing the first unit I received, which had clearly been used( likely prior buyer had returned it after wearing it). The unit I received as replacement has been phenomenal. Very user - friendly, awesome battery life, and what is impressing me so far is that Coros is very actively improving its features. Just this week they started rolling out turn - by turn navigation. While music functionality is somewhat limited right now( only storage of MP3s on the watch itself I have no doubt this will keep getting better as well. But even if not this watch will serve me very well for running, cycling, swimming, indoor rowing, and many other things for years to come.

[ i did my homework before i bought the Coros Apex 2 watch, so i thought i knew what to expect when it arrived a few weeks ago. i expected the battery life to be longer than most watches that this compares to. i expected that the Apex 2 would have all the features i needed as an avid mountain biker. this watch is more than that. the watch is lighter and more compact than i thought it would be. i am not sure how they are able to provide the functions and battery life in a smaller lighter package. i definitely have no regrets with this watch and i look forward to all the adventures that i will take it on with me.

[ Great watch. It ’s not too big. It ’s comfortable to wear to sleep. Creating routes on it is easy, though the map is a little hard to see. I ’ ve had it for a couple weeks and I like all the data it provides with regard to quantifying exercise volume, recovery, and optimal levels of activity. As a personal trainer training for several athletic pursuits, it ’s helping me track my recovery. It ’s inspiring me to take my sleep more seriously. I ’ m still learning how to use some of the advanced features. I no longer carry my phone hooked up to my HRM when I exercise. Anyway.. lots of positive changes to my life after finally biting the bullet and getting a smart watch. I am now curious if I could have tolerated the bulkiness( in addition to the higher price tag) of the higher end model. But no regrets. Get this watch.

There is no 'mountain bike' activity, though the regular 'ride' activity works perfectly fine for mountain bike rides. I really like that you can customize the watch face for each activity. Upgraded from my Fenix 7 to get the full color display. Much more vibrant and readable, with excellent battery life( about 3 weeks with moderate GPS use). As with prior models, it is a bit of a chore to get the menus, display fields, and the watch face customized to your liking, but after that, it just works, with excellent functionality. Main hesitation in recommending it is just the price. Unless you use the microphone/speaker functions( which I do only occasionally) the main upgrade from recent models is the display and battery life.

The Helix 7 with GPS, Mega down imaging, and Mega side imaging has been a phenomenal addition to my kayak fishing. I no longer feel like I am fishing blindly in the winter when the fish go deep. The `` Mega '' provides extremely detailed views of submerged structure, bottom composition, vegetation, and identify fish well beyond what I imagined possible with this unit. The included Humminbird Basemaps have helped me navigate some of the larger lakes, and the autochart live feature has enabled me to create my own maps of the smaller local lakes I fish. Installation was pretty straightforward. The Helix 7 user interface is friendly. There are numerous videos on YouTube to help you install the Helix 7, navigate the menus and I interpret the maps.

Sturdy and robust design built for the hardships of everyday wear in all conditions. Great fitness tracking, gps, sleep monitoring, and the flashlight is awesome. UI is kind of weird like in most garmin products but the button interface makes it friendlier than most. Best suited for the committed adventurer and athlete. The solar display is less vibrant so watch faces can be a bit dull, the simpler face the better.

I bought this a month ago when I saw they were getting rid of them for the Fenix 8's. I had done a product comparison on the site before, and the only thing the 8 had the 7 did n't was an AMOLED screen, and slightly better waterproof rating for the new dive features. That was it. Not enough for me to want the 8 over the 7, or justify the large price difference. Beyond that, this is a huge upgrade for me from my fitbit. I wanted a watch that would be durable and have a longer lasting battery than the Apple or Google watches. I loved it could have increased accurate GPS coverage and maps for when I go hiking. My sister has the Apple and her battery not only dies before a long hike is over, but the GPS is n't as accurate. The health metrics seem to be in depth compared to the fitbit, and I like seeing my training status and load efficiency. I tested this battery last week. Any time you start a GPS related activity it zaps the battery more. I was also out in full sun often so this helped. I was able to log a hike+ 3 short kayaking sessions on one charge, and it lasted 11 days before needing a charge.( I did not have any smart phone notifications turned on) If you 're looking for a watch that's geared more towards those who are into outdoor recreation for their exercise, and has the rugged durability to survive these activities, this watch is for you. If you need just a smart watch for time, emails, and what not this watch might be overkill for what you 're looking for.

I bought the Fenix 8 after a couple of less - than - optimal experiences with competitor products. After several months with the watch, I am convinced that there is not a more thoughtfully designed sports watch on the market. Everything on this watch just works, and Garmin has thought of everything. Even small details like the watch automatically ejecting water from the speaker after a watersports activity speak to the level of detail that Garmin focused on when designing this watch. The software is fast and fluid, the screen is brilliant, and the health and exercise data collected is precise and presented in a useful and palatable format. The only thing that I feel could use some improvement with the watch is that when I take a phone call from the watch, there is evidently a lot of microphone feedback, as in people talking to me through my watch hear a significant echo of everything they say. Overall, an excellent watch that I feel is well worth the higher price tag.

I love the Garmin ecosystem and have invested heavily in the Garmin fitness products as well as navigation. Coming from the Fenix 5 and Forerunner 955 Solar, I noticed some features didn ’ t carry over to the 7X Pro Sapphire Solar. I miss being able to see Notifications in a folder and the lack of wear - detection passcode are creature comforts for daily wear that I would, personally, like to see back. Other than that, I can ’ t recommend the watch and ecosystem enough.

While I 've only had three opportunities to fish with this locator since I 've purchased it, it seems to perform very well. I particularly like the clarity of the screens and the split screen option. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. I stepped up from the Garmin Edge 530 and WOW! what an upgrade. I really like the larger screen, the touch screen and visibility of the information on the screen It has so much and you can set it up and configure it to however you ride. My 1030 plus decided took on water on a wet ride and had to be replaced. I got the Edge 1040 thinking it would be very similar and did not expect much difference. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements in the unit. First thing I noticed were the icons on the data screens that make it easier to find things like elevation, grade, gears, and next turn direction( see first two screen shots). Probably the best improvement is in the Climb Pro screen( screen shot 3). Climbs are automatically detected based on the road you are riding( previously climbs just showed up on preloaded routes). The climb pro screen now shows you the map along with the graph. Includes the grade you are currently at and remaining distance, grade and altitude gain left in the climb. Nice feature! I like how the meter pairs with Di2 shifters as seen on the last screen shot.

Absolutely in love with this! It's lightweight and comfortable... Love how the band feels on my wrist, too. Oh, and no pulled arm hairs! Lol. It's encouraging me to move more and have those friendly competitions with my Garmin friends.

It took a bit for me to get used to moving over to a Garmin from an Apple Watch, but I love it! It lasts so much longer and the routes are way more accurate.

I just made the switch from an Apple Watch( I broke the screen 3x before realizing the Apple Watch wasn ’ t for me) to the Garmin Forerunner 165. Like all new tech, it took me about 3 days to start enjoying my new watch. Watching YouTube videos really sped up that process. Now I love it. I love the garmin app on my phone, especially the workouts that they suggest for me. The battery life is great, and customizing the face of the watch was my favorite part. Getting all the information that I want right away has been enjoyable. I was also worried about it being waterproof, but I ’ ve been in the pool 3x and haven ’ t had any issues. So far I ’ m a happy customer. Thank you!

I sold my MinnKota Ultrex and bought my first Force trolling motor. It rocked. Far more powerful, with 20 power settings instead of 10. The SpotLock was good not great, it needed tweaking. I ran into a wooden post while trailering and tore the head clean off! Sad moment. So… bought a second one! The spot lock is perfect! The autopilot is wonderful, use it all the time! I never have to lift my motor up to clean off vegetation like I did with my minnKota. It cuts right through it! I love my Force. It links to my Garmin 126 and the remote is a breeze to operate. I won ’ t buy anything else.

Awesome motor!
This is the 2nd force motor I ’ ve owned and I think this latest one( bought in 2024) has an even quieter steering motor than the 1st( bought in 2020). It ’s also such an improvement over a competitor ’s auto stow/deploy motor whose spot lock would ‘ give up ’ occasionally after trying to continuously over correct the steering in one direction and getting wrapped up in its power cabling, instead of turning the motor back 360 degrees in the opposite direction to correct itself. The Force never loses itself with gps lock, especially when swimming away from the boat with a decent wind that pushes the boat away from you when you thought the motor was holding the boat! It ’s also much more powerful than this auto stow/deploy motor I had, by a good 20% I estimate. Overall a great motor! Only complaint is I wish the livescope cabling could be ‘ built - in ’ to the motor shaft.

I purchased this locator in May of this year. It was easy to install and worked out of the box. I installed a cut off switch between the battery cable and the positive line to make sure the GPS was not drawing power when not in use. This is the first Lowrance unit I owned that I did n't have to constantly make adjustments to get good readings. I can turn it on and concentrate on catching fish.

We started out pretty slow. Darn thing was in store demo mode. Could n't get it out of this mode. Your single page instructions were n't very thorough as to dealing with this situation, and several other necessary tactics to operate this thing. Went to the net, to Lowrance academy. com. That website covers most everything to do with this model locater. With the websites help I figured quite a bit more on how to use this machine... Now to use this locater and chart is a real pleasure. All the charts are so detailed. The adjustments are pretty simple.( now) Looking forward to using it up on our Canadian trips.... FRED

It is exactly as represented, so it gets 5 stars. There are, however, a few issues the first of which is a 5 '' display is too small, but that is on me. It's not easy to remove a micro SD card. Brightness control via the power button can produce a quandary as to whether the brightness is turned down in bright sun or the unit is powered off. The beeps and alarms are so difficult to hear as to be worthless. Still a 5 star rating.

This review is for the Hook reveal 5 splitshot with Inland maps. I love this unit so far! I just used it to fish for jumbo perch on open water. My transducer is mounted on back of the boat, so I anchor and then drop my jig near the back of the boat. I can see the fish come in to inspect the lure, I would almost always catch a fish once I saw one on the screen. I really love the detail and I 've been using pallette 13 split with downscan as recommended. from a few friends. Most recently, I used the unit to troll for walleye, it clearly marks suspended off the bottom and has made my fishing experience more enjoyable!

I bought a 2023 Tahoe 185s with the fishing package on it and it has this model trolling motor on it with a Lowrance hook 2 4x fish finder at the trolling motor and my question is what other fish finder unit can I replace it with that will hook up to the same wire connection coming from the motor?
