I am not much of a VMC fan anymore but I do like this hook because it has a slightly longer shank and heavier wire than most other trailer hooks available today that I have personally seen. One thing though, do not use the tubing over the eye as shown to rig this hook. Instead mount the hook then put the tubing on top as a keeper or I actually use an oversized soft plastic earing back[s]( a single one above or one above and the other below the hook) instead, as otherwise, the hook could get stuck off to either side which will cause it to catch everything else in the water but the fish.

I like the Light Wire Aberdeen because I primarily fish for bluegills, perch and walleye/sauger. These specie generally hug the bottom where snags occur more likely, The light wire hook is easily straightened thereby allowing it to be removed and line saved. [ Overall, this backpack is great. It fits an 80m rope, two helmets, plenty of quickdraws, shoes, harness and more( although its a tight fit with all of those things). The backpack design is good, and i like that the front of the backpack is what touches the ground, not the side that goes on your back. My only complaint is that the backpack is very simple- there are no loops to clip stuff onto, or pockets for waterbottles, which is a bit annoying if you need to hike a bit. Overall a fantastic bag, especially for the price!!

Not the best day pack because it is too big, but it is a great multi- day pack, which is what i got it for. Carries snowboard, skis, and all your gear with ease. Easy to access items in the bottom through side zipper access. Multiple pouches for items like probe, helmet, etc. Great back country pack.

Very well made! Just used it in Rainier in May and it held up wonderfully. The ski strap system is a little finicky and can make the skis rest uncomfortably especially if you have to down climb steep snow.

Comfortable, functional and well thought- out pack. Gregory did a great job in designing this pack and it was definitely designed by folks who do BC ski touring. To begin, the pack is quite comfortable with loads. You can fit items in this pack much more easily than other ski touring packs I 've tried. While it's not the lightest, for the size and carry capacity, it is light! I did n't think I 'd use the Fast Track ski carry option, but on my second tour with it, I was using it bunches on the ascent. The FT is awkward if you 're descending, at least for me at 5' 9 ''. The shovel, probe compartment is very ample as well but beware that components can kind of slip out of this compartment when you take off your pack, set it down, etc. Very happy and impressed!
