I ’ m happy with it. Works fantastic used it a dozen times never a issue. Need the jacking bottom end

5 VT Fish
I 've owned two Jaw Jackers for three seasons now. We primarily fish for rainbows and browns which tend to trip a flag, run a few feet and drop. The Jacker hooks these short strikes about 90% of the time. The fish also do n't get a chance to swallow the bait/minnow. Easier to remove hook and let fish go if u want to.

Started replacing my tip up army with these soldiers. First time out, she goes off as I ’ m packing up my flags. Got to fight a 7lb Northern on the jig stick. Seems well made and is easy to use. watch your eyes as you set her up to avoid a nasty smack.

Works great. Add the jogging bottom sold separately makes it way better

5 Tom from Mn
I have 4 of these and no longer use tip- ups. I use Zebco Dock Demon rods with Abu Garcia spinning reels. Rods are fiberglass and available at Wallyworld for 10 bucks. Graphite rods do n't hold up as well as fiberglass rods.

I originally bought this about a month ago as a back up trap, until my sister started coming with me and she got her first fish ice fishing. The trap stands tall out of the hole about 34 ” and only about 11 ” done in the hole. All in all amazing tip up and I highly recommend!

Heavy duty and tall tip up, the only issue is the bolt that holds the spool on comes out. So i glued them in and That seemed to work

I love these tip ups design and features. The only downfall I had was one of my wood slats broke on a big knot in the piece of wood. Dicks replaced it no questions asked

The best tip up I have ever used. Very heavy duty with big reels. Will last for years to come.

Honestly a tip- up is a tip- up, they are pretty standard, but this one has gradually become my standard, it has replaced all my other tip- ups. Its tall so you see the flag easier, the latching mechanism is great and even the way the flag stores is great. Its pricier than most other models but the few enhanced features make it worth it.

5 FishinMagician
You ca n't go wrong with this trap. The drag system is very nice, the cork hook holders will keep things tidy when packing up in a hurry, and the height of this trap towers over the snow. I only ordered 3 but am planning on ordering 2 more today. When it comes to ice fishing, I do n't know why people would want to use traps like your grandfather used 60 years ago. We all spend a fortune on new rods and reels, why not get good stuff for ice fishing?

5 Meat
I have 15 of these tilts already. Just got news ones for my nephew for Christmas. He wants to start ice fishing, so I figured whynot get him some tilts.

5 papacoondog
this product will stand the bad weather and conditions of time, its well made, simple to operate, its has never let me down, I have total of 4 of these tip ups and plans to buy more.

Frequently Asked Questions For Ice Tipups

Ice tip-ups are devices used by ice anglers to catch fish through holes in the ice. They consist of a flag mechanism that signals when a fish is on the line, allowing anglers to monitor multiple lines at once. When a fish bites, the line pulls the flag up, alerting the angler to check their catch.

When selecting an ice tip-up, consider features such as the material of the frame, the sensitivity of the flag mechanism, and the size of the spool. Durability is important, especially in harsh winter conditions, so look for models made from sturdy materials. Additionally, some tip-ups offer thermal insulation to keep the hole from freezing over.

Yes, there are different types of ice tip-ups designed for various fishing conditions and species. Some are specifically made for shallow waters, while others are better suited for deeper ice fishing. Additionally, certain designs may be optimized for specific fish types, enhancing your chances of a successful catch.

Setting up an ice tip-up involves drilling a hole in the ice, placing the tip-up over the hole, and attaching bait to the line. You will need to adjust the depth of the bait according to the type of fish you are targeting. Once everything is in place, ensure the flag is set to trigger when a fish bites.

Ice tip-ups can generally be used in various weather conditions, but their effectiveness may vary. In extremely cold temperatures, some models are designed with thermal features to prevent freezing. It's important to check the conditions and ensure your equipment is suitable for the specific weather you will be fishing in.
