[ I originally wanted a down coat with 800 down fill, however, I am a big fan of Columbia's Omni- Heat material, having previously owned one of their jackets. I figured 650 down fill with Omni- Heat would work fine in the cold, and I figured correctly. The Delta Ridge is a very warm jacket. It is light weight, and fits well. I love the jacket, however there are a couple of things that I think would make this the perfect jacket if updated. I wish it had a double zipper. It can be warm wearing this coat, and the ability to unzip it from the bottom to let heat out/cool air in would be great. I also wish it had a chest pocket, either on the outside or inside of the coat. I wear hearing aids that allow me to stream music from my phone. Hearing aids use a less powerful Bluetooth and if the phone is away from the hearing aids, or blocked, the sound streaming sometimes drops. Having a zippered chest pocket would help greatly with this issue, to keep the phone closer to the hearing aids, but despite these two issues I still think this is a great jacket and highly recommend it.

I 'm 5 '' 7 '' 175 lbs and the large fits like a glove. It's a form fitting jacket that tapers out slightly at the bottom but the length is ideal and the duck down filling is very cozy. I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

Very nice warm jacket I have one for last 20 years. I was working on construction I use this jacket every day., It's very heavy material. You 're not gon na rip it off and it's nice and warm, so I will recommend it. I am a bike packer and gravel rider. I underestimated how good this fleece would be on the bike. It breathes super well but is warm on the downhills. Conversely it is stylish at work. It is a base/ mid layer, not a bulky fleece. It ’s streamlined enough to wear on a bike or running. I can see this as a base layer for skiing this winter and nordic ski adventures. It ’s light enough to come along backpacking or bike touring.

I bought my Mesa Purple jacket in an outlet store, and I absolutely love it. I love how this jacket combo is all I really need for winter in New England and how it can be used for the majority of the year. My complaint is that your hair will snag on the buttons around the wrists, and the velcro on the inner jacket and any face makeup will rub off around the zipper area of the jacket. happy with this jacket. i used at mt Bachelor for four days. it was cold week but i never got cold, in fact i had to open vents. i 'm 6' 1 '' and its very comfortable fit. hood its true helmet compatible. main zipper sometimes was stubborn but manageable. i would improve the top of inside part of zipper where Gore- Tex material is touching your face/ mouth when hood is over the helmet by putting softer cloth material, maybe even this piece could be removable for often cleaning. overall good jacket.
