I bought this this weekend for a trip to the cabin for the 4th of July. I loved the design of the zipper on to and the buckle on the front so simple to put on your pup when wet or dry and the handle was so helpful getting her back on the dock or from the boat in to the water. [ I 've tried several different brands of life vests for dogs, and while this is pricey, it's the best there is. It's sleek, streamlined, unencumbering, making movement for my dogs as uninhibited it can be. I love that the bottom is well fitted, no loose straps( straps are securely velcroed) no loose flaps that just drags in water. It's just well made and well designed.

I purchased 2 other brand vest from other suppliers, and though the fit was okay the support provided by the vests were less than 3 1/2 lbs. On my 56 lb Aussie it was fashionable only. The `` BayDog '' Monterey Bay life vest is very well made with extra stiching at all of the strap and clip points, adjustable straps make custom fitting a breeze. I have a miniature poodle about 12- 13 pounds and he was a little nervous at first and all it took was a bit of encouragement and he jumped right in. He swam for maybe and hour and an half and he was so upset when I told him it ’s time to dry off. He was soon playing lifeguard and attempted to save us all when we were diving underwater. The vest itself is well made and I like the additional neck and stomach support it has.
