I bought the UA Velociti Elite 2 after watching many reviews of the top carbon plated racing shoes. I am stoked that I did! I ordered it in a half size larger than my normal size because I have a wide foot. Perfect fit! The upper hugs the foot like a snug glove and the lock down is excellent. The midsole has a generous amount of cushioning but plenty of spring to propel you forward. I didn ’ t expect to like the outsole as much as traditional rubber. I have had zero traction issues and enjoy how quiet the foot strike is. Overall this shoe has a fantastic build quality and is very fast! I am thinking about getting a second pair.

Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I have been running in Glycerins or similar Brooks for 6 years, these are completely different and Amazing. It ’s either the extremely light weight, or the carbon plate, or the rounded toe and heel, who knows, but they are Fast. I ’ ve used this shoe on grass, dirt, pavement, and track, and it performs great on all. I ’ ve used this shoe since July, so I would estimate 100- 200 miles, and there isn ’ t too much wear. The fit of the shoe is great, love the snug feel. Not crazy amount of traction, but the hole in the bottom( where the plate is) can get some mobility out of the rocker. The DNA flash is very soft in the heel, and lessens further forward, giving soft landing and fast release. This shoe can be used of really any distance in speed. Only complaint I ’ ve had is the ankle bump it has, it gave me soreness one time, but never happened again, so it shouldn ’ t be a problem.

Amazing shoe, fast and bouncy but not squishy. Relatively stable considering this is a racing shoe. I prefer them to my Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 because I recover faster after a hard workout in the Hyperion Elite 4. Elite 4 is comparably more stable than the Endorphin Pro 4. Excellent upper and ventilation. DNA Flash 2 foam does not stiffen up in the cold. I appreciate the design of the laces and how it makes it harder for them to get undone. Fit is perfect on my slightly wide feet. These shoes do n't get proper justice from some online reviewers and I do n't agree with that. I am really happy I gave them a try and they are permanently in my rotation now until I wear them down.

The foam is firm which I like about them yet soft as they break in, truly softer than flash v1. The upper is really breathable and had no problem with laces or heel slips. I have arthritis in my left big toe joint, and tendonitis on the top and inside of that foot. I have been struggling to walk without increasing pain for the past 6 months, and have not been healing. It has been very discouraging. The tendonitis even caused pain while biking. I have been wearing this shoe for 3 days and am amazed! I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I 'd love to see more colorways. I actually worked in them the first night I got them and had several complements. I felt like I was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh bouncing around the hospital all night.

I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

Well. I bought 4 pairs. These are everything I was hoping for. Essentially a springy, barefoot run with great energy return. All have worn well unless I try to take them off without undoing the laces, or scrape them on concrete. I wear mine daily. I have narrow feet with exceptionally high arches. As for this model compared to the Alphafly 2 and original…they improved them tremendously. They are snug without pressure, better foam profile, and the lacing system doesn ’ t untie easily. Non elite runner, former Div 1 soccer player and a high school basketball player! Like running for conditioning and its simplicity. These are my first plated super shoe. My favorite shoe all- time is the 2017 Nike Turbo Pegasus. The Vaporfly 3 is a great shoe, but there are a few caveats. It is really light- weight, well cushioned. It has a lot of pep and a very good toe off. I am a mid foot striker, so the shoe is very effective at improving your speed. Heel strikers, this shoe could be trouble. I am relatively neutral runner too, so, non- neutrals beware! I have only run 5 miles in the show. My first two times was on a dedicated pavement path. Light rain both times! The sneakers are pretty grippy. I had No slippage! These are very “ airy ” uppers- no over heating at all. I have high in- step and arches! I use a runners knot- perfect! No heel slippage and very good lock down! The plate with high arch was noticeable, but, no discomfort running! The shoe excels at running at pace, and when speeding up. It does both effortlessly and it seems to prefer that tempo to any other running style! I did not run on trails- and I would not recommend! The trail would probably shred the soles! I am not sure if the rear rubber bumpers will make it to 100 miles ’ and I am a mid- foot striker! The shoe laces are quality and had no slippage! The toe box is roomy and I wore my true Nike size 10. Visually, the shoe looks narrow, but, it did not feel “ narrow ” when running! Quite the opposite, actually! I do not have narrow feet, and I had no problems with the shoe ’s last. I am about 6- pounds heavier than my ideal running weight of 141 lbs and the shoes easily handle my weight. Bottom Line; an amazingly engineered shoe, bouncy, very light weight, airy and cool, no heel slippage, pretty good traction, very good lock- down, excellent for running at pace and for higher tempo runs. I have no intention of running more than a 10K in these. And I would NOT wear these for “ easy runs ”, nor for “ recovery runs ”. These are highly focused and motivated and performance driven running shoes! There is not a mellow bone in its body or soul! The carbon plate is noticeable, and may take some getting used to. I will try to update the review after 50 and 100 miles, to see how the shoe is wearing and holding up. I bought the shoe myself, and I fully recommend. The shoe challenges you to run efficiently and with pace. The shoe has a purposeful mindset!

My old pair( previous model) was a little snug, so I sized up by half a size( from my normal size which, interestingly, does work for the Pegasus), and these fit really well. I ’ m a 5 ’ 10 ”, 170lbs, 54 year old male with a marathon PR of 3: 15 and have been running marathons for 14 years. Ran my 20th marathon two weeks ago and nearly set a new PR! I bought the Metaspeed Sky a couple months out from my race and put roughly 40 miles on the shoes at race pace during training. Was really skeptical at first because the soles r so plush, but running, they r very responsive. Super light and almost feel unstable standing in them. However, running for me, at 7- 7: 30 min/mile pace, they were fantastic. After setting a PR 7 years ago, I nearly PR ’ d again with these shoes. I was less than 30 seconds shy. Fit for me was good. Love these Nikes! I have narrow feet with a moderate high arch and these shoes fit me like a glove. I wore them right out of the box for a trip, walked 5, 000 to 10, 000 steps daily for 2 weeks and my foot did n't hurt at all. I liked them so much that I bought another pair. Unfortunately my shoe size/color were not available in women's. It stated that the React Phantom Run Flyknit 2 was unisex so I took a chance and bought a men's size 6( I wear women's 7. 5 in this shoe). Do NOT buy it in a men's size. The arch is in a weird position for my feet. Stick to the women's sizes.

Alphafly 2 has been my only running shoe, so I ’ m sorry to see it appears to be on the way out. I hope the 3 is just as good. I love the booty fit without the need to deal with a loose tongue. Grab the loops at the top and back to slip on more easily. The laces did dig into the top of my feet, but problem solved with a Lydiard- style lacing( see photo).

Never ever had a problem with the alpha fly. I ’ ve worn them for the last 3 years or so and love them. I have a really bad knee but I honestly don ’ t suffer with it when wearing the alpha flys because of the cushion acts as a shock absorber. Love them and all the colours

4th and last pair of Pro3 ’s sadly. Love this shoe!! Pity it ’s gone out of production. Just works, outsole lasts, i( 86kg) get 600km+, great bounce, “ toe off ” and snug feel. You just need to work out the bottom lace fit/ looseness else it can rub on big toe knuckle if too tight. Top race day shoe, not much in it between this and other “ super shoes ”. This outsole just lasts longer. Onto Pro4 ’s, which look great but sadly sound bit softer, less mileage outsole and not getting amazing reviews atm from mates. C'est la vie

purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

Miraculously light shoe! Probably one of the best short- distance racing shoes on the market. Given their durability, I would n't use them as anything but racing/speedwork shoes. 8 miles out of the box to try them out before a 10k and NO tendon pain( like I have in many shoes over 5 miles). I have recently started running more, and these shoes are more luxe than I could have imagined. They are my first super shoe. I also run in the Evo SL, and I sized up in this model due to running in heat and fearing my feet would swell a lot during a race. I think I could have actually gone either my normal size or up 1/2. I 'm not bothered too much by the bright green since I got them heavily discounted( on Adidas). 10/10 would recommend for fussy feet like mine.
