[ I ’ ve always used a titanium or stainless steel set up for expeditions, but this kit ’s utility was apparent right away for sea kayaking expeditions. It ’s impressive packability is so much easier to cram into small hatches and any small voids. I really appreciate this factor the most. I wondered how it would hold up to my typical backpacking/kayaking stoves. A full, high burn on my usual stove( I use the MSR Pocket Rocket) caused no issues- it was a very quick boil for a full pot, actually, and the blue flame beneath the pot didn ’ t come anywhere close to the suggested max flame extent. I was kind of surprised that the instruction text on the bottom of the pot was not even affected. When you add in the two plates, two cups, and two bowls included in this kit- and it still packs as small(!)- the total weight is very backpack friendly especially if you are traveling with a partner or group. If I am solo, I would just take a small portion of the kit, and it is very comparable to my titanium gear ’s weight( but far more packable.) I honestly wasn ’ t sure when I first saw this kit that I would swap it out for my metal gear, but testing it out has sold me on it earning a place in my kayak programs. One ask: if they added or sold a snap lid for the bowl, I would love to make it my snack/lunch carrier in my day hatch as a swap for the Tupperware I usually use.

[ I received The Frontier UL One Pot Cook Set, which comprises three pieces, from Influenster to test and review honestly. I added this set to our camper for our weekends in the woods where we cook over a fire. I must say, first and foremost, that this set is great. It fits inside the pot, and the lid locks down using the handle of the pot. It held up really well over the fire. It did n't take long for it to come to a boil. The cup is sturdy and made of thick material that wo n't burn your hands. It also has a lid, so spilling is n't a problem. The bowl is sturdy and deep, perfect for eating stew or anything hot. It cleaned up easily after use and packed up tightly for our next campfire cookout.

So far so good. I looked long& hard for something to help with campsite organization. We&# x27; re a camping family that takes meal prep seriously- we don&# x27; t settle for hotdogs and canned bbq beans alone- not knocking hotdogs, but we do enjoy a good meal at camp. Along with that comes a chaotic camp kitchen. I&# x27; d read enough positive reviews on the slim- fold to sway me to pick one up. We used it over a 4- day 4th of July camping trip to put it through its paces. I&# x27; m quite happy with it- it upgraded my kitchen storage game quite a bit. I&# x27; m impressed by the build quality and expect it&# x27; ll last a good number of years. Quite steady. If it had been a bit deeper it might be sturdier, but once it has a few heavy items on top, it&# x27;s pretty steady on flat/even ground. And that&# x27; d be a trade- off. I&# x27; d r recommend it to a fried. While I give it 5 stars, I&# x27; d note two things: 1) addition of a hangable mesh under the main surface would expand dish drying surface greatly, and 2) keep in mind that the aluminum main surface is a little slippery- we use a metal Camp Chef stove and it was a little slippery. I&# x27; m going to look for a 16x24 '' peice of thin rubber to create a friction layer between them so it doesn&# x27; t slip around.

[ I have thus far only used this stove with the Solo Stove alcohol burner, which is basically a Trangia knock- off. I have used it to boil water in the Solo Pot 900 into which the stove nests. [ I already use# 4 cone filters in my kitchen, and they fit perfectly in this for easy clean up( I use the brown bamboo). Coffee filters are obviously not required, it works equally well without them. It's a basic pour over, nothing crazy there. What is crazy is the packability and light weight. I could carry this is my shirt pocket or a pants cargo pocket and forget its there. The origami design is so clever and ingenious.

It heats up very quick, sometimes a tad too quick but that would just be my user error because it ’s just that darn effective, little jet engine that thing. My only gripes comes with the bowl which protects the heat sink which has cracked down the middle, and the sleeve which I wish was a little easier to dry or wick moisture. It's great for base camp, or car camping or even brewing enough coffee for everyone on a road trip. I 've used it many times in the past year that I 've had it and it is probably the best setup available if you 're going to be brewing for three people or more. That being said, I do wish that they would develop a neoprene cozy for the pot( like the JetBoils), that is the only way this setup could be better.

Honestly put this thing through the wringer for 5 days and it held up. Cooked multiple meals over a fire with this skillet and it held up. Took care not to get the plastic pieces too hot as they looked like they could melt. Easy to clean and stored nicely in my pack. The handle comes off in my pack now, but I think that was my fault for how I packed it. I can reattach it no problem and it is still usable, I just have a handle getting to the bottom of my pack now.

The taste was good but you have to boil for 25 minutes. That takes a lot of propane if your power is out. Your chicken and rice has a lot of chicken and a large portion. You only add boiling water to the pouch wait 10 minutes and it's ready to eat. I did add a little extra seasoning. And great for my girlfriend that has nut allergy.

I love the beef stroganoff so much that instead of cooking my work lunch or eating at a restaurant, which can get pricey, I 'll bring this to work. We have a coffee maker that makes hot water and it's the easiest, filling, and quick clean up lunch. I also love that it's in a pro pak for long days hiking, climbing, fly fishing or backpacking!

They are all dehydrated, so a little on the heavy side depending on how long you are packing for. The packaging is durable; we never experienced any break- throughs, holes, or leaks. And the company's co- owner and chef, Jen, recently become HACCP certified, so be on the lookout for options with meat in them coming soon! The classic marinara with penne has really great flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the pasta held up. Being gluten- free, I thought that the brown rice penne would fall apart, but it held together fairly well and still had bite/texture to it.

This is the first certified gluten free freeze dried meals I ’ ve found, and having celiac disease, keeping shelf stable food on hand for emergencies is very difficult. Please consider making this flavor in a large can size to have on hand for those instances over the pouch.
