[ This Keen Targhee Apex is a comfortable shoe! One of the first things I noticed is how quiet the outsole and midsole were when walking around the store on carpet and cement. They 've since been on a dusty hike and a rainy road- to- trail hike. Nice cushioning, stability, and no dust nor water got inside the shoes. Since these shoes are nearly white you can see that some dirt has stayed in the crease on the forefooot even after being hosed off.( Again, no water got inside.) Fit wise, these have a neutral insole, roomier toebox, and wider heel. To keep my foot from sliding forward and to have a better fit for my heel I will add Superfeet insoles. This shoe runs true to size so I went up 1/2 a size to allow for swelling on longer and hot hikes. Nice shoe. I look forward to seeing how it feels after putting more miles on it.

They ’ re sturdy, and they ’ re comfy right out of the box( no break in needed). If you have wide feet and/or bunions, these are worth a try! I will say that the heel may be a bit loose if your heel is narrow, but no issues so far for me. I ’ ve already taken them out for some cold weather backpacking and longer trail days, and they ’ re holding up well, no foot pain at the end of the day or anything.

I 've been trying to find good 'intermediate' boots for snowshoeing for over a year. I bought several pairs and returned them all. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are waterproof, warm, and have stiff enough uppers for cinching down snowshoe bindings. They also have great tread and decent edging ability on hard, steep snow when not using snowshoes. I do n't think it's a durability fault, because most of the sole retains its tread.

They are light even though they have a Alloy Toe I can appreciate that. They need a break in period( my last carhartt boots were not a safety toe& needed no break in time) These boots have given me 1 Big blister on 1 big toe( Odd) this is why I say they need a break in period my toes need to get used to this toe box with the Alloy. My job is VERY dirty& these clean up easily& are comfortable.

Love these boots- great for Fall style and chillier/wetter weather. I love the `` chunky '' style and they are substantial without feeling heavy and super comfortable as all my Merrell boots are. I have the Black/Pine which added a pop of color and fun to just a boring black boot- but am thinking the chelsea could be a great option for a quick slip on as well!

I really like these! I originally purchased the green/black color way but they did n't quite match my wardrobe. These bring the cool/athleisure/hiking vibe without being too rugged to wear or style. I love them with leggings and they look cute with straight- leg jeans as well. I will say they 're not the most breathable shoes, but I do n't expect leather shoes to be that. Really excited to wear these in the fall, and excited to have a white boot that's not suede that will be easy to take care of. Definitely recommend. I also appreciated the ease of the exchange process.

I like these boots. I work in a prison and needed a black boot that looks smart and conforms to our uniform dress code. There really isnt a lot out there for women which fit the bill. I have shopped at all the competitors sites, have ordeed from others only to immediately send them back because the boots made by others tend to not be made for thebshape of a womans foot. I required something made to fit a woman's foot so that I would be less likely to suffer injury. I required something relatively water resistant, and professional- looking. Though these boots were not intended to be uniform tactical boots, the all- black color choice are the closest I could get in terms of fit, comfort, and appearance... and made for a woman's foot. These boots are comfortable, sturdy, and the Vibram outsole is exactly what I need to help me stay on my feet while walking on a variety of surfaces, and standing for long stretches of time on concrete while tending to my duties. I have not, as yet, wirn them to work... but I have worn them around the house and outside. These are, handsdown, the most comfortable prospects I have yet worn as far as a boot I intend to wear to work. I do wish, however, that Merrell would make a duty boot for female officers, with vibram outsole, polishable toe, and made tonwithstand the worst winter weather the Northern Great Lakes region can throw at them. But... for now... mthese boots wornnwith warm woolnsocks will have to do. At least, they will be comfortable and look good.

I bought these for a recent trip to Banff, Canada and they were amazing. They arrived only a few days before the trip so I was worried I would have issues with breaking them in but no problems! We did an 11 mile hike the second day of wearing them and I only got one tiny blister( which let ’s be honest, probably would have happened anyway). I wore them multiple times on my trip and every time I was so happy with them. Highly recommend!

I began eyeing these boots( along with a few other pairs of Danners) when I really got into hiking this past year, but was hesitant to purchase as I 've seen a million reviews( on literally every hiking boot ever made) that talks about the break- in requirement and resulting blisters, foot pain, lost toenails and the likes. I committed to a winter hiking hut trip this past month and knew that I needed something waterproof and after window shopping( literally every boot tailored for women who love the great outdoors) kept coming back to these. After weeks of considering my options, I decided to take the plunge on these. I received my order about 10 days before the hut trip. The first day I trying them on they felt great, but the second day( when I intended to start wearing them every minute of every day to break them in pre- trip) I noticed that they felt quite roomy, despite having ordered exactly as the size chart indicated. I immediately began looking for a half size smaller and low and behold, they were sold out everywhere. Despite my immediate panic, with lack of better options I ended up committing to the size ordered paired with a thick pair of wool socks for the trip( 6. 5ish miles each way, 2kish in elevation gain on the way up). I am delighted to report that despite feeling a bit roomy when I tried them on, the wool socks made the fit perfect. The trip up proved to be the most foot- comfy hike I 've ever had! My feet stayed entirely warm, which has never happened without Hot Hands in my socks in winter hikes for me. Beyond that, the boots were completely submerged in snow due to post- holing multiple times throughout the weekend, but my feet stayed 100% dry the entire trip. These paired well with my Kahtoola microspikes and Orvis snowshoes. All in all I 'm completely impressed and can not wait to hike more in these boots. If you have gear anxiety and are on the fence about ordering these( like I was), I highly encourage you to get off the fence and order! My initial impression is that this is the best boot purchase I could 've made.
