Absolutely. But after hiking all day with a heavy pack, it's heaven to sink into a comfy chair at your campsite. They set up and break down quickly and easily, and we love the feet on this chair in particular. Some of the sites we 've camped at were very sandy or muddy, and the Joey felt very stable. We 'll be taking these to the beach as well once we 're able. I have no doubt they 'll perform well there too.

[ My husband and I just took these chairs on a five day canoe trip. They easily strapped under the stern seat for long portages and were balanced easily with a stuff sack under the bow seat. They set up in about a minute once you get used to the process and are so comfortable. If it was colder I would line the ventilated seats and backs with a blanket. They are tippy until you get used to them but it ’s not a big deal since you ’ re so close to the ground; also, all lightweight camp chairs are tippy. Too big to bring backpacking( don ’ t pack down small enough for a backpack) but definitely the right chair for a canoe trip!

[ I thought that this would be more like one of the bulky beach chairs but I was pleasantly surprised to find it is actually like the camp chairs that fold up and fit in the bag. This makes it so much easier to carry to and from the beach. It is very low to the ground so it is good for keeping your toes and feet in the sand. It is sturdy and light. You do not have the option of reclining back but you are not sitting up to straight or back too far. It has padded arms and a headrest. It is very comfortable and easy to use.

I love that it comes in its own carrying case so it is easy to bring even if you have to park super far from your destination. This chair is very comfortable too, it has a nice firm but also supportive fabric. I had to restring the webbing but otherwise it has lasted outlasted the cheap knock off ‘s and expensive French versions of this chair. [ My first outing with this chair was on a long walk on a beach at Bodega Bay in northern California. I am pushing 80 with arthritis in both knees. After 20 minutes I needed a rest. I sat while others continued. After sitting comfortably for over 30 minutes, I rejoined my group to head back. Very pleased with how well I felt. Love the portable weight and overall construction. I have a bad knee. Before I resort to the cane with the built in chair I thought I would just buy a portable tripod chair to take on day outings. The only improvement I would suggest for this chair would be some way to strap it to a backpack… either a strap or a hook. I ’ ll improvise. Either way, will be able to stop and rest the knee at a moment ’s notice.
