This is similar to the Mytsery Tackle Box, which I also think is a great gift. But I am very happy I bought this as a Christmas gift for my father, for serendipitous reasons. Storytime: every May, he and I take a guided weekend fishing trip up to Lake St. Clair. We always bring and use our own tackle, and last trip our guide took us to a spot we had never fished before. It was weedy, and I ended up throwing a weedless jig I had in my tackle box, which matched the color that we always have the most success( e. g. Rapala Blue Ghost color). It was a swim jig, and I added a Powerbait craw trailer. In that one section, I landed a dozen bass in the 2- 4 pound range. It was very weedy with a lot of slop, and the jig moved perfectly through everything without getting hung up, or getting covered in slop with each cast. The problem was that( a) I only had one jig of that type and color; and( b) I had ZERO IDEA of the brand! I spent many hours online afterwards trying to find the exact jib for purchase, with zero luck... until my father opened the Rapala Bass Boom Box. As he pulled each item out... he took out the EXACT jig I used( climax: it is the Thunder Hawk Mouse Head Grass Jig). This shows one of the great aspects of these Boxes: you will get things you might never have thought of trying- or even knew existed!

I 've been very happy with the action, durability and color options of the Rapala Cleanup Craw. I 've used it as a jig trailer and Texas rigged it on an EWG hook with success. The claws do n't tear off on short strikes which is a huge plus. The forward facing appendages on the side of the craw flutter when retrieved. I bought a bag of this bait at my local dicks store last week. I fish regularly on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in NY. I purchased some minnow soft baits as an alternative bait to my Berkley grub baits. I had lots of success in catching some fish including some blue gill, perch, and large mouth. I also caught tons! and tons! of gobies where I fished. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. I was only fishing of a dock so I did n't get the full experience of using this bait on a boat or kayak. I found that using a smaller hook worked well in catching the fish near me. I hooked the bait through the head and out the bottom similar to a carolina rig. The bait works well even after a few fish are caught and the bait is broken down. I suggest throwing the bait back in the back once finished so it can redial up the liquid in the gulp bag. All in all decent bait for a good price.

I got the color closest to our natural crawfish. Bass really inhale this lure. Dives deep enough and works well around docks as long as there is a reasonably clean bottom. Did not have to tune this lure as it runs straight right out of the box. Retrieve and pause works the best. Most hits on when the lure is stopped.

I bought this bait at my local dicks sporting goods store last week. I fish on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in Upstate New York. I purchased some Berkley grub minnows for fishing off of a dock near a marina and off of the shore near a small bank. I had lots of success in landing some fish including some blue gill, pumpkin seed, rock bass, and large mouth bass. Do n't let me forget to mention that I caught A LOT of gobies. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. You can definitely catch some 2 or 3 lb largemouth on these bait if you are fishing in the right area. I found that using a size 4 jawbone hook worked well with a Carolina rig for the fish I was after. I added a 1/8 oz weight about 5 inches from the hook. I received most bites and catches on sunny days with calm water in about 20- 40 feet of water. To retrieve the bait cast it out very far, then let it sink to the bottom. Then just slowly reel on the line every 5 seconds then let it sink then repeat. These baits tear away after you snag them or hook them multiple times. They also lose scent after a while so sometimes if it is reusable I wash it off then throw it back in the bag to soak in the juice.

Kind of a nice thumping action on retrieve, good moves as a jerkbait, excellent finish, not surprised at all it attracts the monsters. Only negative is easy to snag getting it down into below surface brush.

Definitely my go to lure. If you just wan na catch a fish tie one of these on. Its small but VERY loud for a tiny lipless crankbait. Can cast really good even with a bait caster and is fairly aerodynamic, lands straight and belly down `` 99% '' of the time. I use this for both salt and fresh water. Ive caught panfish of many sizes along with bass, chain pickerel, crappie, white+ yellow perch, red drum, baby striper barely longer than the bait to 20+ inchers. Its just a fish catcher! Colors I mainly use for this are helsinki shad and blue chrome( pure personal opinion but Im sure all the colors work). Im trying the pink tiger next!
