The scent is distinctly crab, different from other Gulp scents so it stands out as being authentic. It pairs well as an alternate with Gulp shrimp-- if fish are n't hitting one, the other they will, so have them both on hand. Stays on the hook great, very simple to rig. Little fish will nibble at the legs a bit though.

I got one of these jigs last week and went fishing with it the same day. I got my first striper and then 9 more. I kept the two largest ones 21& 22 ”. The best part is the jig looks ready to go again with no damage to the grub tail. There are a few small chips in the paint from getting dropped on concrete while in a striper ’s mouth. I bought a second one in chartreuse for the next trip.

When targeting sea bass, various types of lures can be effective, including soft baits, jigs, and swimbaits. Each type mimics different prey, so it's important to consider the local forage and conditions. Experimenting with different styles can help determine what works best on a given day.
Sea bass lures are typically made from durable materials such as plastic, rubber, and metal. These materials are designed to withstand saltwater conditions and the rigors of fishing. Additionally, some lures may incorporate scents or colors to attract fish more effectively.
Color can play a significant role in lure effectiveness for sea bass, often depending on water clarity and light conditions. Bright colors may work well in murky waters, while more natural hues can be effective in clearer conditions. It's beneficial to have a variety of colors on hand to adapt to changing conditions.
The best time for sea bass fishing often varies by region, but generally, late spring through early fall is considered prime time. During these months, sea bass are more active and feeding, making them more likely to strike at lures. Seasonal patterns can also influence the types of lures that are most effective.
Retrieval techniques can vary, but a slow and steady retrieve is often effective for sea bass. Incorporating pauses or erratic movements can also trigger strikes, mimicking the behavior of injured prey. Adjusting your retrieval speed and style based on the fish's activity level can enhance your success.
