I really like this knife. the handle is comfortable and the blade came from Gerber very sharp. so far it has held its edge very well and has n't required and sharpening. The knife is heavy compared to others I have at the same size but I like that substantial feeling and it is more difficult to flip compared to knives with a thumb stud but because of that the blade never gets hung up by the stud.

I think Gerber decides to reward our loyalties ever few years when it comes out with a little GEM like this. The Zilch is a wonderful design, it's inexpensive and simple but it works. The detent works, centering is perfect, lock up is solid, no blade play, sturdy pocket clip, smooth opening and the flat ground drop point blade is awesome. No expensive handle materials or blade steel at this price point but I love carrying it all the same. I got the Red one but will probably get more in the different colors just because. I think the main comparison/competition to the Zilch would be the Dozier and the 112 Slim...... so if you like that style of knife but prefer a liner lock then maybe the Zilch is for you.

I wish the Zilch had been around when I was going through knifes. Very solid little knife for the money with full liner. May not be premium material, but for the price beautifully executed. I find the Zilch design both more aesthetic and functional than other knifes in its price range. I do n't know how it would hold up under the use I give a knife, but at its price it would be a tool I 'd use and replace when I broke or lost it. And I broke and lost a lot of knives that cost more. Gerber might just have the best in its class here.

Great knife. I 've owned it for over 3 years, and carry it every day. Once you get used to the design, opens very easily with one hand, and holds an edge very well. Thick and sturdy blade has never malfunctioned. I sharpen about every 3- 4 weeks and one drop of oil on the hinge. No complaints.

Honestly a really good knife. It was given to me as a door prize for a National Guard competition. At first I was n't impressed with the design, but time after time this knife has been the one I have turned to. It sharpens up to a razor edge with no trouble and holds a edge extremely well. The unusual hinge mechanism is extremely durable. Other folders' pins would have certainly loosened or altogether sheared off under the abuse I have put this knife.

I got this knife about 2 months ago and it's great. Razor sharp out of the box and it's super durable. It's got this secure feeling when you hold it. The locking mechanism is great too. It's a frame lock and is really easy to open and close.

I originally bought this knife at the base PX for training thinking it would be a cheap disposable. This has by far been the best knife purchase I could 've made. This knife got me through field training, serves me daily in the office, and even provided crucial help during a car accident by breaking a window and cutting through a seatbelt. well a little kid knocked my favorite knife off the pier today and i wish the warantee would cover that but it was a great knife, comes sharp, stays sharp and good blade thickness but lightweight and extremely durable cant believe the things it had been through( 70% of powdercoat was knocked off if that gives you any indication of how much abuse it survived, im ordering another as soon as im done with this here review, great product hope they continue to make great cheap knifes like these in the future.

I purchased this over the Benchmade Bugout; I have no regrets. I love the Flash AT over the Bugout! Given I respect and love Benchmade, I just prefer the Flash AT! Can sharp out of the box; no flaws; heavy duty, this knife is heavier so if you want lightweight the Flash AT, doesn ’ t achieve that, but it sure does have heavy built; so if you ’ re like me that prefers a heavy duty combat knife that is a beast this knife sure achieves that.
