I I absolutely love this knife at first I was really hesitant because it's quite confusing how to open it and still hold it and not cut yourself after about a month or less of using it I 've learned how to do that just gripping on the sides and use the lever to flip it...

I bought this for some of my coworkers and they were a big hit. They are small enough to fit nicely in your pocket and they also come with a driver for standard bits.

I needed a small pocket knife to carry with me on trail runs. I didn ’ t want anything too big or cumbersome and this product fit the bill perfectly. The knife is rugged and fairly sharp. It also comes with two integrated driver bits( Phillips and flat head) that magnetically fit into the end of the knife, which doubles as a screwdriver. The knife also comes with an integrated clip which secures nicely to clothing or equipment. I recommend this pocket knife for light duty use.

Classic knife, replacing one I lost years ago!!!!!

Woodsman270
The first one I bought in 1976 it lasted 33 years before the lock broke. I sent it back to Buck and they completely refurbished it to new condition at no cost to me. The second one I received as a Christmas gift. It has a drop point Burlap handle and cpm20cv steel. It is too pretty for every day use so I bought the latest one from Dick's. It shaves hair like the other two. Fit and finish are excellent!!!

I bought my Folding Hunter in 1977, shortly after joining the Navy. It lasted me throughout a 20 year career. I still have it, wear it, and use it on a daily basis. Truly, the very best knife I have ever owned!

I decided to order this knife to use some of my rewards points and I was not disappointed. I own plenty of Benchmade, Protech, Microtech, Spyderco, and many other brands of knives and this ZT is up there with some of my favorites. Very light carbon fiber side panel, great detent that allows the flipper to positivly `` fire '', and the lockup is solid.

[ I have another ZT( 0562) and this is just as smooth as you would expect from one of the top American knife makers. It is more of a “ gentleman ’s carry ” knife — it is on the medium to small side and looks very sheen with the CF handle.

I was looking for an American Made knife for daily carry that could be opened with one hand and that was slim and light. The Buck Bantam was a perfect fit for all this criteria. The price was good which made the entire purchase a good value. I can not speak to its longevity as I have not owned it that long. Ask me if I still have it a couple of years from now! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a sharp, easily carried knife for daily use.

Its a buck knife, enough said. But its lightweight, and a darker clip so not everyone sees that you have it unlike my sog. For the price, great pocket knife.

Best pocketknife I 've ever had. It's the perfect size: not too big not too small. Dual handed opening is a big plus. And it's durable too. I 've dropped this knife more than a couple of times and it's still like brand new.

[ The ring is great for a quick clip onto my harness. Easy open and close. It seems to hold its edge quite nicely. Strong blade, not afraid of it breaking. Handle is a bit flimsy, but if you hold it closer to the blade it's sturdy.

[ This knife works great as a very lightweight option for backpacking. It stays clipped to my pack strap so it's always easy to grab when needed to fight off zombies, alien invaders, or whitewalkers.

[ Needed a small, more importantly LIGHT knife to pack in my 10 essentials for mountaineering. This is exactly what it needs to be. I have a SOG for more heavy duty trips but when I want to be fast and light on an alpine ascent, this is what I carry.

Very light weight, easy open and close, and blade come in nice and sharp! ... It is very sharp and works really good as a utility knife. ... Smooth action, looks good, and it's a great little utility

Awesome blade, well performing knife for all condotions. But mone is not stainless mine has rust spots forming in random spots on the blade, several on the hip clip, all over the colapsable sheeth, and some on the exteriou blade hindge. Still a nice knife though...

Have had this knife for about 6 years, it has seen a lot of use and a lot of abuse. Have never had a single problem with it; blade still sharpens easily, action is smooth, and I have never once had to tighten a screw.

I bought both the Ripstop I& II and I must say I am very happy with both. Light weight, sharp, easy to use. Overall great knife for any situation.
5
I have carried this knife with me almost every day and use it 3- 5 times/day for about three years. It is easy to open and securely locks in the open position. It fits my big hands well. I have this knife in three sizes. It works well as my money clip and it really holds its edge.

[ Sharp, light in weight, lots of aftermarket parts. Feels good in hand. Description does n't say it but the black handle is Benchmade's carbon plastic model, which is more premium, lighter weight, stronger and better texture than its standard plastic grivory scales. Mechanism is secure. Everything about it is a solid knife.

[ This knife is extremely popular and now I know why. It is so light that you forget it's in your pocket. If you get one, do yourself a favor and take it apart after breaking it in and oil the washers. After this, the action is so smooth and it drops shut.

This is a perfect little blade that will be comfortable in any pocket, even slim pants. ... What I ended up loving the most about the knife was it's light weight but sturdy

Bought knife in 2010 the knife has great edge retention very durable perfect edc And a great camping knife I droped the knife onto concrete once and bent the tip of the blade but sharpened it good and it was good as new. it is now 2014 and I figure I have used the knife about 500+ times and only had to sharpen it about 5 times

Great knife! I carry this with me all the time, and I have nothing negative to say about it. I love Gerber products.

Have had this knife for about 2 months now. It has become one of the best knifes I own for everyday use. I do n't understand why some reviews are having issues with the clip. Yeah, it's tight out of the box, but really, come guys you should know how to fix it. All you got ta do is pull it out a little bit with your fingers and you are good to go. Also, not sure what other reviews are talking about with the blade being hard to pull out. My knife, I just flick it with my wrist and `` bam '' it's out and ready for anything I put in front of it!!!

Love the Altair. My Lady lost my first one in the squid ink color so I bought a red one the next day. She has since found the first so now I have 2, and I 'm perfectly fine with that. The one handed operation is very convenient, and there is no lighter edc knife I 've found with this level of quality and performance.

Bought this a couple of months ago and it quickly became my camp/fishing knife. Its too heavy and bulky for EDC for me, but overall a great knife.
Manual opening knives offer several advantages, including reliability and ease of use. They typically require less maintenance than automatic knives and provide a sense of control when opening and closing. Additionally, many users appreciate the tactile feedback and simplicity of a manual mechanism.
Manual opening knives are often made from a variety of materials to enhance durability and performance. Common materials include stainless steel for the blade, which offers corrosion resistance, and various types of handle materials such as aluminum, G10, or wood for a comfortable grip. The choice of materials can affect the knife's weight, balance, and overall aesthetics.
Manual opening knives come in various styles, including folding knives, fixed-blade knives, and multi-tools. Each style serves different purposes, with folding knives being popular for everyday carry due to their compact size. Fixed-blade knives are often favored for outdoor activities, while multi-tools offer versatility for various tasks.
Choosing the right manual opening knife depends on your intended use, preferences for size and weight, and desired features. Consider factors such as the blade shape, handle material, and locking mechanism. It's also helpful to think about whether you need a knife for everyday tasks, outdoor adventures, or specific hobbies.
Yes, manual opening knives are highly suitable for outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and fishing. Their reliability and ease of use make them a practical choice for various tasks, from food preparation to gear maintenance. Additionally, many manual knives are designed with durable materials to withstand the rigors of outdoor use.
Maintaining a manual opening knife involves regular cleaning and lubrication to ensure smooth operation. It's important to keep the blade free of dirt and debris, and to periodically oil the pivot point to maintain the opening mechanism. Additionally, checking for any signs of wear or damage can help prolong the life of the knife.
