5
I think Gerber decides to reward our loyalties ever few years when it comes out with a little GEM like this. The Zilch is a wonderful design, it's inexpensive and simple but it works. The detent works, centering is perfect, lock up is solid, no blade play, sturdy pocket clip, smooth opening and the flat ground drop point blade is awesome. No expensive handle materials or blade steel at this price point but I love carrying it all the same. I got the Red one but will probably get more in the different colors just because. I think the main comparison/competition to the Zilch would be the Dozier and the 112 Slim...... so if you like that style of knife but prefer a liner lock then maybe the Zilch is for you.

5
I wish the Zilch had been around when I was going through knifes. Very solid little knife for the money with full liner. May not be premium material, but for the price beautifully executed. I find the Zilch design both more aesthetic and functional than other knifes in its price range. I do n't know how it would hold up under the use I give a knife, but at its price it would be a tool I 'd use and replace when I broke or lost it. And I broke and lost a lot of knives that cost more. Gerber might just have the best in its class here.

[ I bought this recently and have only taken it climbing three times, but so far it is lightweight, easy to open and close, easy to clean, and durable.

5 Eric
[ The ring is great for a quick clip onto my harness. Easy open and close. It seems to hold its edge quite nicely. Strong blade, not afraid of it breaking. Handle is a bit flimsy, but if you hold it closer to the blade it's sturdy.

5 Nate
[ This knife works great as a very lightweight option for backpacking. It stays clipped to my pack strap so it's always easy to grab when needed to fight off zombies, alien invaders, or whitewalkers.

5 Steve
[ Great knife for pretty much all outdoor activities. The only feature I would request is a way to lock the knife closed as well as open. While it has never opened unintentionally, the ability to lock it closed would bring a little extra peace of mind.

5 Eric
[ Sharp, light in weight, lots of aftermarket parts. Feels good in hand. 5 Bruce V.
I was looking for an American Made knife for daily carry that could be opened with one hand and that was slim and light. The Buck Bantam was a perfect fit for all this criteria. The price was good which made the entire purchase a good value. I can not speak to its longevity as I have not owned it that long. Ask me if I still have it a couple of years from now! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a sharp, easily carried knife for daily use.

5 mazroth
Its a buck knife, enough said. But its lightweight, and a darker clip so not everyone sees that you have it unlike my sog. For the price, great pocket knife.

5 Chris
Best pocketknife I 've ever had. It's the perfect size: not too big not too small. Dual handed opening is a big plus. And it's durable too. I 've dropped this knife more than a couple of times and it's still like brand new.

I decided to order this knife to use some of my rewards points and I was not disappointed. [ I have another ZT( 0562) and this is just as smooth as you would expect from one of the top American knife makers. It is more of a “ gentleman ’s carry ” knife — it is on the medium to small side and looks very sheen with the CF handle.

Awesome blade, well performing knife for all condotions. But mone is not stainless mine has rust spots forming in random spots on the blade, several on the hip clip, all over the colapsable sheeth, and some on the exteriou blade hindge. Still a nice knife though...

5
Have had this knife for about 6 years, it has seen a lot of use and a lot of abuse. Have never had a single problem with it; blade still sharpens easily, action is smooth, and I have never once had to tighten a screw.

Very happy with the knife, would recomend to anyone looking for an EDC knife. On the heavier side but very well contructed. Stays sharp as a kershaw should.

5 Blade-rph
This is my first Kershaw folder and I 'm very pleased. It is also my first flipper assisted opener. It opens nearly as easily as my automatics. The blade was very sharp out of the box and the frame lock works very well. The handles look and feel very well made and the pocket clip can be moved to suit any preferred style of carry. I like this knife so well that I now need it's big brother the Cryo II for my collection.

5
Let me be frank about this. Its one of the best knives under 20 dollers you can get.

5
I got this knife about 2 months ago and it's great. Razor sharp out of the box and it's super durable. It's got this secure feeling when you hold it. The locking mechanism is great too. It's a frame lock and is really easy to open and close.

5
I originally bought this knife at the base PX for training thinking it would be a cheap disposable. This has by far been the best knife purchase I could 've made. This knife got me through field training, serves me daily in the office, and even provided crucial help during a car accident by breaking a window and cutting through a seatbelt. If you need a knife that can do it all, I swear by this one. It's a simple and reliable tool that comes everywhere with me.

5
It is really light and eventually you start to master the art of closing it. Highly recommend, but only if you are willing to practice closing it cause it might take time to get used to.

5
This is a fantastic, cheap knife. It is easy to carry with you everyday and very practical.

The Salute Mini is somewhat of a misnomer for this knife. It is a very well built, well balanced, mid - sized lockback. It has an excellent blade profile for piercing as well as slicing. Dual, bronze pivot washers are rare at this price point. Nothing was really skimped on with superb knife except maybe the bead blast finish as opposed to satin polish. I ca n't comment on the black version other than my personal preference for silver blades. You 'd be hard pressed to find better quality and value than the Salute `` Mini ''. It's a no B. S., awesome EDC.

I 've used this blade for everything from cooking to carving fishing lures, and it has always impressed me. You would be hard pressed to find another knife as reliable for this price.

5 Josh

Bought knife in 2010 the knife has great edge retention very durable perfect edc And a great camping knife I droped the knife onto concrete once and bent the tip of the blade but sharpened it good and it was good as new. it is now 2014 and I figure I have used the knife about 500+ times and only had to sharpen it about 5 times

The Arc is excellent. It feels very solid to hold. The knife is beautiful and sharp. The pliers are top notch as are all of the tools. Comes with bit set to exchange in large bit driver. Excellent multi - tool.

High quality tool. Ready for anything. Fun to use and carry.

Awesome tool. All tools are easy to access. Blade holds an edge for a long time.

I have owned the Leatherman ARC Talos for several weeks and have come to appreciate the exceptional build quality. The FREE technology comes in very handy for operating one- handed. I love the locking mechanism for the tools and the accessibility from outside of the multi tool. Does not come with a case; however, it does come with a nice pocket clip that securely holds the tool in place. Be careful when flicking the tool open with one hand: it can bite if your index finger is too close to the top of the handles.

[ I ’ ve owned several models of Leatherman and Gerber…Wave+, Charge Plus TTI, Charge Plus, Rebar, Super Tool 300, Skeletool CX, Surge, Gerber Truss and Centerdrive you name it. None of them were able to justify not carrying a pocket knife until the ARC. The magnacut blade is a game changer in the multitool space and has replaced my pocket knife with ease. The one handed opening pliers are awesome when you have your hands full as well as the ability to access the tools from the outside, again, with one hand. Different from the Free P4, Leatherman has listened and put a proper bit changer, quality scissors and a proper file into the tool. Build quality is typical top notch from Leatherman and this is a tool that will be handed down to my kids someday. I highly recommend if you ’ re on the fence!

I purchased this about a month ago and have been very pleased with the knife. I had an earlier model in red that I also liked, but the clip was a bit of a disappointment as it persistently snagged on the lettering. This model has an improved clip and the blade is fantastic. Love that it has a hard core surrounded by the damascus. I hope SOG will use this damascus on other models. Only suggestion would be to etch the blade longer, or to not polish it as much so the contrasting steel can pop.

This knife has made me fall back in love with SOG. A beautiful, light and sharp knife. The pattern dose not pop out so much, but considering it can cut through a quarter inch piece of paper without the paper wiggling around and the fact I feel like I ’ m carrying a razor sharp feather makes this knife my new best friend. Buy this knife now you will not regret it.

[ I have not used this yet, but it feels very well made and all the parts move smoothly. I like that you do n't have to open the pliers to get to the knife. It would be nice if it came with a case. I know I 'm dreaming, but it would be nice if you could get a left - handed version.

[ Leatherman products never fail to impress. quality build, versatile feature set, super sharp blade and all the features you need for a multi - tool for either backcountry exploration( so you are always prepared) or everyday carry. If I had to point out one negative it would be that it is on the heavier side for a my daily driver, as I always have a multi tool with me.

Frequently Asked Questions For Onehanded Knives

One-handed knives are designed for quick and easy deployment, making them ideal for situations where you need to use your other hand for support or to hold something. They often feature a mechanism that allows for smooth opening with just one hand, enhancing convenience and efficiency. This makes them popular among outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and anyone who requires a reliable tool on the go.

One-handed knives are typically made from a variety of materials to ensure durability and performance. Common blade materials include stainless steel for its corrosion resistance and edge retention, while handles may be crafted from materials like aluminum, G10, or plastic for a lightweight yet sturdy grip. The choice of materials can affect the knife's weight, balance, and overall feel in hand.

When selecting a one-handed knife, consider the intended use, such as everyday carry, camping, or specific tasks like cutting rope or preparing food. Look for features like blade length, locking mechanisms, and handle ergonomics that suit your preferences. Additionally, consider the weight and size of the knife for portability, especially if you plan to carry it regularly.

Yes, one-handed knives are highly suitable for outdoor activities due to their ease of use and versatility. They can be used for a range of tasks, from preparing food and setting up camp to making repairs or cutting through materials.
