I use this knife for skinning and quartering axis deer, and of all the knives I have( even those made for skinning deer) this knife is my favorite. Just the right size, holds an edge well, sharpens quickly, and hasn ’ t broken a tip while separating hip sockets. Have been using for over two years now( I harvest about 12 - 15 deer per year in Hawaii where there is no deer season and way too many deer). I ’ m buying a backup today in case they stop making this knife…. like every other awesome product I find…here today, no longer made tomorrow.

Had for 7+ years and still holds up great, my favorite beater.

5 Eric
[ Sharp, light in weight, lots of aftermarket parts. Feels good in hand. Description does n't say it but the black handle is Benchmade's carbon plastic model, which is more premium, lighter weight, stronger and better texture than its standard plastic grivory scales. Mechanism is secure. Everything about it is a solid knife.

5 Eliot Eliot
[ Got this knife as both a camping/EDC option. Really happy with the feel and performance. Blade extremely sharp. Fits perfectly in you pocket. So light you almost dont know its there. Recommended!

5 Shuf
I bought this a month ago but also own others of same exact model. What a classic knife. Everyone should own one of these just because.

5 B Webb
I love these Buck 110 folding knives. I ’ m 68 years old and this is my third knife, I purchased my first knife when I was a teenager, these knives hold up, I lost the last one it didn ’ t break. The build quality and design is amazing. It ’s a very handsome and well designed knife as well as being very sharp from the factory. This knife is always sitting on my belt. If you want a nice looking knife that holds up well this is the knife for you. This knife is well worth the price.

I 've used this knife for throwing, splitting tinder, carving, EDC, and so much more! this is a great gift and makes a great gift!!!

5 Joshua84
I had this knife a few years ago and mis - placed it sadly, I have nothing bad to say about this knife, its very durable, and the that circle on the handle was a cool feature it helped with grip a lot, the blade was very sharp and strong, and the handle was almost a fiberglass looking metal handle( would be nice to of been that rubber matte finish) but.. anyways I 'm about to re - buy this, great buy!

5 Kade
well a little kid knocked my favorite knife off the pier today and i wish the warantee would cover that but it was a great knife, comes sharp, stays sharp and good blade thickness but lightweight and extremely durable cant believe the things it had been through( 70% of powdercoat was knocked off if that gives you any indication of how much abuse it survived, im ordering another as soon as im done with this here review, great product hope they continue to make great cheap knifes like these in the future.

4 JJK
Lightweight, but it feels sturdy. The grip feels alittle akward at first, but it's good. Looks pretty cool and it's practical.

5 Belike Mike
This my favorite “ go to ” knife, and I have a bunch. My only concern is availability. It seems to be getting hard to find.

5 STEVE T
I bought this knife 4 - 5 years ago. Always 1 of the best Gerber knives I have ever owned. Reason I am buying another one, after losing it.

5 Jay E
I love this knife! My favorite EDC. Super comfortable and an easy one handed operated folder. It's not fast to put away, but the draw is quick. Gerber just needs to make a version with better steel, like S30V would be fine. 8 years in the army and I went through 3 of these. I think the clip could be better too. But jimping is amazing and the lightweight frame is on point!

5 Joe Friday
My wife gave me my first one a few years ago. May have lost it at work yesterday, but it might be found and returned. In the mean time, I 'm not taking any chances - just ordered a replacement - same model. Gerber 22 - 41968 I 've given it a heck of a workout in my new job since last July. Enough proof for me that I need it replaced ASAP. It's done exactly what I needed it to do on a daily basis, each and every time.

5
Hi. I am a major Gerber fan. Own many of their products and dozens of knives. This was my first. I bought at a climbing store and found that the finger hole was perfect for hooking on a carabiner. Knife is solidly built and perfect addition to a climbing rack in times of need. Recommended.

I decided to order this knife to use some of my rewards points and I was not disappointed. I own plenty of Benchmade, Protech, Microtech, Spyderco, and many other brands of knives and this ZT is up there with some of my favorites. Very light carbon fiber side panel, great detent that allows the flipper to positivly `` fire '', and the lockup is solid.

5 zbrewha863

5 Lee2000k
[ Been carrying this for almost a month and have found myself using it everyday. Having pliers available has been a game changer. And doing it in a lightweight package makes the Skeletool a huge win. I ’ ve carried a bunch of knives through my short lifetime, Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw, Microtech, etc. and they ’ ve all been great knives and I still own those knives. But the convenience of having a multi tool that weighs a little more or as much as a knife I already have, plus having a similar footprint as said knives, there ’s no reason I shouldn ’ t carry the skeletool everyday. Now is it perfect? No. If it had a pair of reliable scissors, like the ones from Swiss Army knives, then we would be inching towards perfect. But it definitely does a lot more than only having a knife, and it does it very well. I ’ ve come to find that the skeletool is also very customizable. There ’s a huge market that offers aftermarket modifications you can add to the tool. I ’ ve seen mods where you can add a hammer/pry tool to the end. And even seen guys add the aforementioned scissors. Possibilities seem endless. Should you carry it everyday in place of a knife? I don ’ t know, that ’s up to you. But should you give a try and see how you like it? I ’ d say absolutely and you ’ ll be pleasantly surprised.

5 electronicsdude
I bought this on the recommendation of a review website for including in a roadside emergency kit. So, while I like it a lot I guess in some way I hope that I actually never have a reason to use it. Though if I do I 'm pretty sure it will save the day as it's an incredibly functional multi - tool and lightweight.

5 I review stuff
[ I got this to replace my lost standard leatherman. Works great, sturdy, and the components are easily accessible. It does everything I need it to do.

5 Alpacaexpert
[ I purchased this for my 8 year old son. It ’s a really nice, high quality tool. It had just enough features but it ’s not overwhelming with things you would never use.

I really like this knife's bigger brother, the Bugout and thought I would try this one, but it is too small for my large hands. For quite a few years now I have treated myself to a new Twitch II for the holidays. This year, when I read that the Twitch III had been released, I just had to have one! The slim profile fits nicely in your front pocket. The assisted open is lightning fast. While I wasn ’ t so sure if I liked the lock position in front of the blade, it does allow for one handed closing. I highly recommend this knife for those that have purchased the Twitch II in the past.

Bought this a month ago and love it as my new edc. Lightweight and fast to open.

5 Roy C
Love it! Smooth action, and feels solid in my hand. Gave my old twitch to my son so I could get a new one! Great knife

5 Jake
Knife is amazing. Very smooth opening, blade is very sharp and has maintained that edge throughout the first month of use. Only improvement iand these would make it the best edc ever would be to have some texture on handle it is very sleek and smooth to touch and to make it just a touch longer. I don ’ t have great big hands but it is still a slight small. When opening it feels it could jump out of my hand

5 Julie
I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He previously owned 2 different versions of the Twitch II and he really likes this one.

I 'm male 70 years old. This sog been in my pocket for many years now, it very useful and functional with amazing longevity. Spending time in the wilderness it's used for many camp chores. Price is very reasonable, you ca n't go wrong buying sog. l highly recommend sog products to anyone needing top quality equipment.

5 Jojorudnick
This is my 3rd SOG knife and second trident. I also have the fasthawk axes. Basically they make amazing products and this knife is the best of all. Sturdy, sharp and a real tool.

5 Moose
Years ago when I was younger and less in the funds, carried a trident as my edc because it was well priced, comfortable, and durable. I recently came across this relatively new version and decided to give it a go for Nostalgia ’s sake. Man is this thing cool. It ’s super solid without feeling too heavy, it ’s comfortable in the hand, and really just an all - around fun fidget knife. The AT action is crisp and powerful. My only gripe that ’s not really a gripe is that the new closed locking mechanism will take some getting used to in its place on the top of the knife as opposed to in the handle. I ’ ve yet to put this one through the ringer, but it feels even more solid than the previous iterations, and I used to beat the hell out of those things.

4 jring87
This knife comes well sharpened, it has a good grip on it and handling it is straight forward. The product was a little pricey, but so far the knife seems like it will have good longevity. The blade is adequately sized and the handle will accommodate even large hands.

4 Junior
Its a nice sturdy knive. Very sharp the look and feel are great. I would have given it 5 stars it was easier to flip the blade with one hand. Even with the assist its still hard to flip the blade.

I purchased this over the Benchmade Bugout; I have no regrets. I love the Flash AT over the Bugout! Given I respect and love Benchmade, I just prefer the Flash AT! Can sharp out of the box; no flaws; heavy duty, this knife is heavier so if you want lightweight the Flash AT, doesn ’ t achieve that, but it sure does have heavy built; so if you ’ re like me that prefers a heavy duty combat knife that is a beast this knife sure achieves that.

4 BoingBoing
4 stars. Would be a 5 but the thumb assist is too close to the handle. The SOG Flare thumb assist is in a perfect location. Move this and it ’s a 5 Star knife! Love it anyway!

One of the best knives ive owned. Have put it to the test being a pool cleaner, it deals with chlorine, acid, chemicals, and its still as sharp as the day it arrived. Once its broke in its easy to open, the blade lock is great, and zero rust or divits to the blade from work. Never owned a Sog before but will definitely buy another one after this one wears out

5 Doug
I love the steel, and a full liner. a great axis lockup.

Small, sleak, and sharp. This is a perfect little blade that will be comfortable in any pocket, even slim pants.

I purchased the full size Evo serrated sometime ago in high school still had it in my 30s until I misplaced it. Used it daily as I carried it along everywhere. I prayed Gerber had yet made these. Now just purchased the Evo jr serrated. Super siked!! Hope Gerber continues to manufacture this particular knife. Cant ask for a better performing knife for the price really. Great Job Gerber!! 🠑

5
this knife is great im the fourth gen. it came to me from my father it came from his and so on it been a great knife i think my grand father bought it new when it first came out ive used it for a lot of things from camping to hunting kepp up the great work

5
I got this knife as an every day carry back in highschool( mid 20's now) and its the most trusted knife Ive owned. I got a different knife by Smith and Wesson and it gave out so soon that Im back to this one. Its survived a motorcycle wreck without any damage other than a loss of the thumb stud so the blade is a little wiggly when opened... but just brace with a thumb or index finger and its still super awesome.

5
I did n't realize how much I loved this knife until I lost it. I used it almost daily for just about anything you can think. The knife was extremely durable. What I ended up loving the most about the knife was it's light weight but sturdy frame. I could take it on jogs and light weight backpacking trips because of its weight. It fits easy into the pocket and you ca n't even tell it's there. Most knifes are bulky or the opening mechanisms catch on the pocket, but not the evo. When I searched for an alternative I could n't find an anything close.

[ Jazzed on this knife, treated my self to a nice knife to celebrate an accomplishment and the difference between my$ 45 Kershaw and this is noticeable. Much lighter even know it is a bigger knife, smoother action, and sits in the pocket way better.

5 Axolotl
I bought this a week ago and I do n't see myself ever regretting the purchase. It took me some time to decide on it because of the price point, but once you hold it in your hands, you see that every dollar is justified.

5 Terry801
I bought this knife a month ago, this is my 4th Benchmade, Excellent quality keeps a sharp Edge

5 Almherdfan
The Benchmade 940 has become a top edc pick. I love the blade length, light weight, and carrying profile. The steel is excellent, the blade is versatile and the axis lock makes deployment a breeze. A great all - around knife that should last a life - time and then some.

5 Tyedye treeguy
[ Got this knife 8 or so years ago and have beat on it. It has held up to a lot of abuse. Super sharp when i got it. The edge held for a while but if you are actually using this knife, you will eventually have to sharpen it. It takes patience to get a nice edge back. Crazy hard steel. Great knife overall. It has done so much for me. Worth every penny.

The Arc is excellent. It feels very solid to hold. The knife is beautiful and sharp. The pliers are top notch as are all of the tools. Comes with bit set to exchange in large bit driver. Excellent multi - tool.

5 Dakota
[ I ’ ve owned several models of Leatherman and Gerber…Wave+, Charge Plus TTI, Charge Plus, Rebar, Super Tool 300, Skeletool CX, Surge, Gerber Truss and Centerdrive you name it. None of them were able to justify not carrying a pocket knife until the ARC. The magnacut blade is a game changer in the multitool space and has replaced my pocket knife with ease. The one handed opening pliers are awesome when you have your hands full as well as the ability to access the tools from the outside, again, with one hand. Different from the Free P4, Leatherman has listened and put a proper bit changer, quality scissors and a proper file into the tool. Build quality is typical top notch from Leatherman and this is a tool that will be handed down to my kids someday. I highly recommend if you ’ re on the fence!

  • How do I choose the right one-handed knife for my needs?
  • Are one-handed knives suitable for outdoor activities?
  • What safety features should I look for in a one-handed knife?

Frequently Asked Questions For Onehanded Knives

One-handed knives are designed for quick and easy deployment, making them ideal for situations where you need to use your other hand for support or to hold something. They often feature a mechanism that allows for smooth opening with just one hand, enhancing convenience and efficiency. This makes them popular among outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and anyone who requires a reliable tool on the go.

One-handed knives are typically made from a variety of materials to ensure durability and performance. Common blade materials include stainless steel for its corrosion resistance and edge retention, while handles may be crafted from materials like aluminum, G10, or plastic for a lightweight yet sturdy grip. The choice of materials can affect the knife's weight, balance, and overall feel in hand.

When selecting a one-handed knife, consider the intended use, such as everyday carry, camping, or specific tasks like cutting rope or preparing food. Look for features like blade length, locking mechanisms, and handle ergonomics that suit your preferences. Additionally, consider the weight and size of the knife for portability, especially if you plan to carry it regularly.

Yes, one-handed knives are highly suitable for outdoor activities due to their ease of use and versatility. They can be used for a range of tasks, from preparing food and setting up camp to making repairs or cutting through materials. Their quick deployment feature allows users to access the blade efficiently, which can be crucial in outdoor settings.

When choosing a one-handed knife, look for safety features such as a reliable locking mechanism that secures the blade in place during use. Additionally, consider knives with a textured handle for a secure grip, and those that have a blade guard or thumb stud to prevent accidental closures. These features enhance safety and ensure that the knife can be used confidently.
