Great rod for 99 bucks, I purchased the 7ft medium action which has great sensitivity with 36 ton graphite, metal locking nut and the trigger is very comfortable to fish with. I personally like the carbon fiber reel butt a lot, which is very nice looking and adds to the lightness of the rod. Nice lightweight rod especially paired up with my JDM Metanium. Can cast lighter lures easily if paired up with the right reel. I was able to cast smaller swimbaits which I usually use my spinning rod for. Loved it so far hoping it holds up well.

Medium heavy casting rods are versatile tools designed for a variety of fishing applications, particularly suited for targeting larger freshwater species. They provide the strength needed to handle heavier lures and tackle while still offering sensitivity to detect bites. Anglers often use these rods for techniques such as flipping, pitching, and casting larger baits.
When selecting a medium heavy casting rod, consider factors such as length, action, and material. A longer rod can provide better casting distance, while the action determines how the rod flexes under load. Materials like graphite or composite can enhance sensitivity and reduce weight, making it easier to handle during long fishing sessions.
The action of a medium heavy casting rod refers to how much of the rod bends when pressure is applied. Fast action rods bend mostly at the tip, providing quick responsiveness, which is ideal for setting hooks. Conversely, moderate action rods bend further down the blank, offering more flexibility, which can be beneficial for fighting fish.
Medium heavy casting rods are ideal for various fishing techniques, including jigging, topwater fishing, and using spinnerbaits. Their strength allows anglers to effectively manage heavier lures and tackle, making them suitable for both freshwater and saltwater applications. They are particularly popular among anglers targeting species like bass, pike, and catfish.
Yes, medium heavy casting rods can be suitable for beginners due to their versatility and ease of use. They offer a balance of strength and sensitivity, making it easier for new anglers to learn various techniques. Additionally, their ability to handle a range of lures allows beginners to experiment and find what works best for them.
