I started using Merrills like these years ago as `` heavy duty '' slippers or house shoes. Because of back problems my doctor said that I should no longer go barefoot or just wear socks when I am at home at leisure. Also I should find footwear that offers support and cushion as I worked from home on the phone and paced on a hard tile floor. Also since these shoes do not have deep treads on the bottom they are easily cleaned if I do briefly wear them outside to bring in groceries or get the mail or the newspaper. I do not wear them out into the world keeping them clean for housewear. I have found that they are super long- lasting and can be repurposed after a time as yard shoes for working outside. Then it is time for a new pair.

After using them for a few matches, my feet do not hurt like they did with my old indoor shoes. Great grip and very sturdy. They do run about a half size small and are fairly narrow even being wides. The only feedback for the designer/maker would be about the rubber sole- I would prefer for the edges to be more round than squared like they are now. If you compare with the Mizuno Morelia, you would know what I mean. I feel( without hard evidence) the round edges would help prevent ankle twist.

I have wide feet with a high arch, and most shoes do n't fit- too narrow at the front of the foot, and not enough space for a high arch. These indoor soccer shoes have a wide toe box, but just as important, they are leather, so you can get your socks wet, walk around for a day, and the leather will form fit to your foot- you ca n't do that with synthetic boots. The first time I played in them( after wetting them to form fit) I played for two hours with no issues- no blisters, sore spots, no nothing. Really happy with these boots!
