Non elite runner, former Div 1 soccer player and a high school basketball player! Like running for conditioning and its simplicity. These are my first plated super shoe. My favorite shoe all- time is the 2017 Nike Turbo Pegasus. The Vaporfly 3 is a great shoe, but there are a few caveats. It is really light- weight, well cushioned. It has a lot of pep and a very good toe off. I am a mid foot striker, so the shoe is very effective at improving your speed. Heel strikers, this shoe could be trouble. I am relatively neutral runner too, so, non- neutrals beware! I have only run 5 miles in the show. My first two times was on a dedicated pavement path. Light rain both times! The sneakers are pretty grippy. I had No slippage! These are very “ airy ” uppers- no over heating at all. I have high in- step and arches! I use a runners knot- perfect! No heel slippage and very good lock down! The plate with high arch was noticeable, but, no discomfort running! The shoe excels at running at pace, and when speeding up. It does both effortlessly and it seems to prefer that tempo to any other running style! I did not run on trails- and I would not recommend! The trail would probably shred the soles! I am not sure if the rear rubber bumpers will make it to 100 miles ’ and I am a mid- foot striker! The shoe laces are quality and had no slippage! The toe box is roomy and I wore my true Nike size 10. Visually, the shoe looks narrow, but, it did not feel “ narrow ” when running! Quite the opposite, actually! I do not have narrow feet, and I had no problems with the shoe ’s last. I am about 6- pounds heavier than my ideal running weight of 141 lbs and the shoes easily handle my weight. Bottom Line; an amazingly engineered shoe, bouncy, very light weight, airy and cool, no heel slippage, pretty good traction, very good lock- down, excellent for running at pace and for higher tempo runs. I have no intention of running more than a 10K in these. And I would NOT wear these for “ easy runs ”, nor for “ recovery runs ”. These are highly focused and motivated and performance driven running shoes! There is not a mellow bone in its body or soul! The carbon plate is noticeable, and may take some getting used to. I will try to update the review after 50 and 100 miles, to see how the shoe is wearing and holding up. I bought the shoe myself, and I fully recommend. The shoe challenges you to run efficiently and with pace. The shoe has a purposeful mindset!

My old pair( previous model) was a little snug, so I sized up by half a size( from my normal size which, interestingly, does work for the Pegasus), and these fit really well. The only thing that I 'm disappointed in is that I did n't try these until right before the Vaporfly 4 replaces them. Absolutely loved these on my marathon training long runs and looking forward to wearing them in my first marathon. I also crushed my 5K PR in these shoes so I 'm loving how versatile and comfortable they are. Looking forward to trying out the Vaporfly 4 next! These are very comfortable. It does feel like you are walking on air. There is n't any harsh shock to the foot when moving in these shoes. The toe box on the men's shoe is better fitting than the women's shoe. This is narrower and fits me much better. Nothing rubs at the arch. I recommend these. The waterproof Gore- Tex is great to keep one's socks and feet totally dry. The only thing I do n't like is the looks of the trim they put on the Pegasus 41 around the toe box. Yet, it does n't affect the shoe itself.

Goo pair of she ’s. I am a beginner level runner. In these, I did a 5k and a 10k run so far. They are light and the cushion is better than my peg 39 shield pair. Not tried in the winter rain yet, will see that parth in warmer days. They are warm to feel in the cold weather. The soles are same as my peg 39 shield and storm tread sole is excellent for grip in wet or smooth surfaces, but the price is, it ’s impossible to clean once you got mud in. I had to go straight in garden and rinse it off, use a brush to remove the mud before it sets. I bought them on sale which seems OK price but would not pay full price. Buy at least half a size up, as they run a little small. Nike have never got the sizes right or consistent.

On zappos web site they advertise that the 7742 has gore tex lining and vibram soles, you might want to check on that one. Other than that the boots are really comfortable.

I 'm now looking for a new pair of the 7742, but I see much to my disappointment that the outer sole is no longer Vibram. The part number is the same, but the sole is n't. The color way worked out excellent as they match his favorite team( Go Raiders!). As far as comfortability, he states they are 9/10, not being his most comfortable pair but very close. They are easy to clean off and the laces are the perfect length. My overall impression is that they are an excellent all around shoe with great versatility and I highly recommend them to any casual wearer and even avid hiker. The toe box is roomier in width and height than other Nike shoes I own which allows for excellent circulation and comfort. They definitely fit true to size. The soles are both comfortable to stand in during my daily routine, but also offers support for longer walks and runs. The texture on the bottom is extremely grippy and allows for additional traction with the Winfrey days but also rocky paths for hiking. I purchased with the intention of wearing them in the weight room- no desire to run and/or jump in them. They provide excellent ankle support and a wide toe base so that you 're able to get your feet set before every lift. The firm sole provides little toe bend, which I appreciate. I would n't recommend them if you 're wanting to run, they 're heavier and on the clunky side, but think they 're well suited for a lifting or HIIT type shoe.

purchased from nike, not Dicks. But i have seen a lot of non- typical reviews that may dissuade someone from giving these shoes a chance. I have over 300 damage- free miles on these shoes and i am just now looking at getting a replacement pair. not due to damage, but just due to the zoomX foam losing its `` springiness '' which is typical for it over time. I started wearing these shoes coming from wearing nike free's for years and just wanted to give something else a try that is lightweight and without a carbon fiber plate. These shoes will not `` destroy '' your ankles if you are already adept to wearing a minimalist- style shoe. These are not true minimalist, but they are very lightweight, lighter than my minimalist shoes, and have a very low heel- toe drop. Both of these specs can compete with minimalist shoes. Coming from wearing minimalist shoes, my ankles, feet, and lower legs are strengthened to adapt to the less cushioning and stability. If you transition to these shoes straight from wearing `` traditional '' trainers, there will be an adjustment period and you may decide its not for you. That is not a knock on the shoe, but more of a characteristic of this style of shoe. I transitioned to these shoes pretty seamlessly from my Nike frees. Streakfly's are the lightest shoe Nike makes, and extremely flexible. Like wearing socks. This is what i look for in a shoe, and something to consider for anyone looking at giving these a try. It is a very fast shoe, but it will lose its responsiveness over time due to the exposed ZoomX foam. They can still be used when this happens though. I am not happy that Nike decided to add a carbon fiber plate to the new Streakfly's, although Nike did make the shoe even lighter. I uses these shoes as a daily trainer and do not want to run with a carbon fiber plate every time, this can cause injury. i am currently looking for deals on these shoes from other sellers because they are not for sale through Nike anymore and i want to pick up another pair before they are completely gone. Bottom line, if you are someone that is already used to wearing a lightweight, flexible shoe, with low drop, you should really give this shoe a try. If not, there will be a transition period before you can wear this shoe all the time. When i transitioned to minimalist, i went through several shoes of gradually decreasing weight and drop in order to let my body strengthen and acclimate.

The Dasher 2 is an improvement of the original Dasher shoe which was a very good shoe. The added grippy outsole traction allows me to use these shoes on fire road- type trail runs where the original Dasher shoe was n't able to go. It also works better on wet road surfaces for runs and walks. The wide heel provides enough stability for turns on the trail while the upper allows for breathability. I use my Tree Dasher 2 over my Trail Runners SWT on dry runs on groomed trails where my Trail Runners are now used on technical trails or hikes. The monochromatic blue is attractive and easier to keep clean than my other Allbirds with blizzard( white) soles. I wish they would come out with more of these monochromatic colorways.

I appreciate the rear foot stability provided by the deep snug heel counter. I got a great fit by removing the insoles to insert my custom full length foot orthotics. A few triangles of synthetic material seem to be somewhat breathable. The forefoot is flexible and roomy, for the balls of the feet and the toes. Good ground feel and ‘ touch ’. They have a cool classic look. These days in Nike, I am either a Men ’s 11 or 11. 5 Medium. The 11. 5 is just right- with thin socks, like the Nike Spark socks.

This is a fantastic boot! I never liked Nike ’s other boots and usually went with Rockys or Salomons, but these really surprised me. I ’ ve put them through two years of hard wear, including two deployments. They ’ re great for field work, and surprisingly, they can handle the “ intense ” conditions of office life too( perfect for all you back office people who think walking to the water cooler is a workout!). I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

Alphafly 2 has been my only running shoe, so I ’ m sorry to see it appears to be on the way out. I hope the 3 is just as good. I love the booty fit without the need to deal with a loose tongue. I ordered 2 pairs( different colors), one in size 5. 5, the other a size 6. They are both good for me- I wear a very thin sock with the smaller size and a thicker one with the larger size, and the feel and performance is practically the same. These are by far the best shoes I ’ ve run in given I ’ m a forefoot striker. If you are a forefoot strike, you need to at least try these. I ’ m using them as trainers and racers. I ’ m 6ft 200lbs, I ’ ve run sub 3H marathons.

Hey if you are looking for comfort and performance out of your shoe. This shoe is one of the best cushion shoes next to the Nike signal d/ms/x. Especially on the treadmill it gave me extra cushion and spring with every step. I run about 3 miles a day on treadmill so it was a wonderful experience even out the box with no break in.

Love the arch support on these and the price point. Although they ’ re not the best looking shoe to wear, this shoe is definitely made to put in work. Minor slippage on my right foot as it ’s slightly smaller than my left foot. Toe cap is not your average Nike narrow one. It is a little wider( assuming it ’s for when your toes expand while running). They fit differently, but if I were to go. 5 smaller my big toe would definitely hit. I went true to size and I always fit into their narrow shoes( Nike).

If yours squeak, try some baby powder between the insole and sole. I think these have a glued down insole if remembering correctly, but i think i peeled them up in mine. Put baby power between the layers and try to get it to go between the sole from the upper and the foam of the cushioning/midsole where they are sewn together. Sometimes there are vent holes as well. If you get them really wet/dry and that gets washed out it will return some eventually but you can redo it. Ive had several different styles of squeaky shoes and this works. The squeak is between the upper sole and midsole and not the outer sole and the ground like most people think. That is why they squeak on any surface. Had these shoes for about a year and a half now and used and abused them. Feels pretty much as good or better than pegasus i had, although it is hard to ever get a direct comparison. Ive worked and walked a lot in them and usually feet feel as any other shoe Ive ever had. I coach and do a lot of outdoor work.
