Although they make a women ’s Iron Ranger, I bought the men ’s because they are better quality( thicker leather and leather lining). P. S. Women want good stuff, too. 😉 I ’ m in love with these things. Thankfully, I learned online not to use mink oil, or the Amber will darken. Instead, I use Bick 4, which preserves the color. I added an insole because the interior comes very basic, but in terms of leather and construction, these are remarkable. Every day they fit better, and I get complements on them every time I wear them out. I ’ m going to make my husband go try some on because I ’ ve seen him buy leather boots for years that pale in comparison to these. So, the hype was real for me. I wonder if some of the people commenting about quality got fakes online somewhere? I can see know why people are obsessed with the 8111s. I travel a lot with work, as I am a publisher. I ’ m in and out of airports, cabs, on the streets of NYC, conventions, etc. I can ’ t wear these with my women ’s office clothes, but gosh, they make great travel companions. If I get a moment to wear jeans, I am in these boots. Thankfully, they are narrow enough not to look like clunky man shoes on my feet. I really want the Clara now, as it could be dressed up a bit more. Going to search the internet to see if there are ever coupons…

I bought my Iron Ranger boots 10 years ago as a getting- out- of- the- Navy present to myself. What could be more American than that! LOL. I have had them resoled at a local cobbler that has sadly since closed. Other than that, they have outlasted 2 pairs of laces, walked through 4 countries, and taken beatings in harsh New England winters. These are great boots — crazy comfy once broken in. I just wish they had the Vibram outsole on them.

I have these in black and brown. The brown ones were a little more stubborn to break in but they are coming along. I wear these to job sites and then to the office. They are rugged enough for the site, nice enough for the office and comfortable enough for me to put some 5 miles on my feet every day. Couldn ’ t be happier

Grabbed a pair for my son 6 years ago on a trip to the US. Wore them non stop for 2 years at college in the UK, during a his gap year and now 2 years into Uni. Had them resolved last year( the original soles had started to wear at the heals). The uppers have held up remarkably well and look better now, I think, than when he got them. Fantastic boot.

I got these boots as a Christmas present and was excited to try them on. I heard from some other friends that they had a pretty tough break- in period, so I was a bit worried about that at first. I ended up breaking them in completely when I was working on a busted watermain for two days, and they held up great despite being soaked through. While I would not recommend breaking them in like that, they 've felt great since and I 've gone ahead and switched the laces out with leather ones. Would definitely say they are worth their weight.
