Then matte- like finish is fantastic and a lot more subtle than the Ghost Whisperer finish, with a soft yet durable feel. Plenty of pockets for everything you 'd need to stash away and the chest pocket fits a rather large cellphone, I use the Galaxy S8+ with an OtterBox case so this should fit pretty much any phone on the market. I have yet to be in freezing temps but at low 40s with wind the StretchDown jacket kept me very arm, the seam welded baffles do their job. I would absolutely recommend this jacket after reviewing the Ghost Whisperer as well as options from Patagonia and Arc'teryx I decided to buy the Mountain Hardwear StretchDown Jacket and I do not regret my decision.

[ This is my favorite jacket. I probably wear it more often than I should, to be entirely honest. It's just so darn versatile, though, that I find myself grabbing this jacket in nearly any situation. The fit is perfect and the angled baffles look great on anyone. The baffles themselves are much more firm than most puffy jackets, which just feels fantastic every time you throw it on. The material is durable, and the range of motion is completely non- restricting. Interestingly, I was especially impressed by the way this jacket feels when moving between being outside/inside. I 've ridden my bicycle outside and felt toasty warm while wearing this well below 30 degrees+ windchill, but then when I go inside at 70 degrees it still feels comfortable enough that I do n't need to take it off. I think everyone should have a Stretchdown. Mine has completely changed the way I think about down jackets.

[ Have worn the First Light Stretch Hoodie for three months now, including on a few winter hikes& a XC ski in the Cascades. Couldn ’ t find another jacket that, at this high level of breathability and range of motion, also offers solid warmth& wind- resistance, great durability, and stylish looks for everyday use. A few jackets may be as breathable as this one, but none of them also offer good warmth+ good wind- resistance+ excellent durability. Only the Arc ’ teryx Proton LT seems to come close. The durability is due to a robust shell fabric( 40- denier) and the Primaloft Silver insulation, which is more durable than Gold and very close to it in warmth. Also, this jacket is fully featured, with an adjustable, well- fitting hood that doesn ’ t block the view, an internal zippered pocket, and two well- placed external zippered pockets. Everyone has to make their own calculation, but I think the three ounces this jacket weighs more than some of the less durable, less featured jackets, are well- worth it. Also, this jacket packs down well. I have a large and it compresses to about 2 liters. Super versatile, comfortable jacket for anything from hardcore outdoor uses, including high- output activities& campside use, to everyday wear.

I went into the store not knowing what I was looking for and stumbled across this beauty( in stores they had the Black color). I did n't know I needed something like this until I saw it. Has a nice shell material that seems like it could keep you dry with some light rain or snow, and the inside is soft and comfortable and feels like it 'll be pretty warm and perfect for shoulder season to wear out and about or even around the house. I 'm 6' 1 '' and about 165- 170, so tall and slim/athletic and I could have either gone Medium or Large but I ultimately went with Medium( although I was tempted to go Large but for insulated type jackets I like them to fit a bit more snug for warmth purposes) Differences between the M and L below: Medium: Sleeves are a perfect length for me. A bit narrower fitting. The main thing I preferred about the Large was the length.... if the Medium had the Large length it would be perfect perfect. I was also wearing a waffle knit sweater underneath and the Medium still fit great. Large: Great length. Arms a bit long. Torso and chest fit nicely but around my mid section/stomach area is where it was a bit more boxy for my liking. Went with Medium because I envision wearing this when it's not frigid out so not needing to layer up a ton underneath. A nice flannel or sweater is all I need and fits perfect under the Medium.

I have had a stretch down pullover hoody for about a year but wanted one that had a zipper. I found this fabric to be high quality and have never had any issues with tears. It does stretch but I wear mine fairly baggy so it does n't get tested. Its super light and you can stuff it almost anywhere. It feels like a windbreaker but it does hold some heat. I 'm a moderately heavy build and I do prefer slightly cooler temps than the average person. I feel comfortable wearing a t- shirt and this as long as its above maybe 25 or above for relatively short periods of time( hour or less). I live in central NC and on the rare occasion its colder than that, I reach for my regular stretch down hoodie. I do sorta wish it had a drawstring on the bottom but not a deal breaker.

This jacket looks small to begin with, but Mountain Hardware has engineer a lightweight full- warmth down jacket that molds and adapts to the user's body. With a low profile, it feels very insulating without limiting the wearer's range of motion. Even though it is down, a waterproof hard shell easily fits over the StretchDown jacket assuring warmth and dryness even on the wettest days.

I am 5 ’ 11 ”, 180 lbs with long arms and an athletic build, and Mountain Hardware is one of the only brands with sleeves that are long enough for me to wear a medium. This jacket is a little tight in the chest, but should be fine with the stretchy material. It is warm and seemingly well made. I like the slim fit because it ’s not bulky and doesn ’ t get caught up and snagged on branches etc. the way baggy jackets can and I can wear it underneath a shell.

I really like this jacket. I had read some views and will comment first on some of the things others did not like- giving my perspective. Then will add some things I myself found I like. This jacket is fitted, especially around the chest. I got a medium and I am 5' 7 '' 160lbs, waist is 32. I actually like this because when I wear it under a shell it is not bulky. The waist is also fitted. I would say you need a trim body type for this work well, or you have to be willing to go a larger size than usual. The hood does not have a way to adjust opening while wearing this jacket alone- other than the quick let's get some cover for some rain or wind. But, under a shell is great. The shape makes it stays in place, and the if the shell is adjustable then you are set. I would not suggest wearing this only for a downpour- must use a shell, but it does take on some moisture without a problem. In terns of temperature my experience is that without activity( e. g. standing outside) this can take the 30s well( unless is very very windy). With some activity it will keep you warm enough in the 20s. The zippers work well and find myself using the top pocket to keep my phone handy and dry. I find myself wearing this very often and is `` dressy '' enough to wear casually around town.

I was impressed with this jacket from the moment I received it. Even before wearing it, I could see that the attention to detail and quality is top- notch. The stitching, the inside seams, and the quality of materials all look and feel great right off the bat. I was not disappointed when I took this on my first rainy hike. Water beaded up nicely on the outside of the shell and the pit zips came in very handy as I started heating up. I really like that the material has a somewhat soft feel to it- its not slick like other rain jackets I 've worn in the past. The material is much quieter when moving as well. I also got several complements on the jacket from some fellow hikers( I have the Cenote version- I love the color combo!) My one wish is that that the hood brim had a little more heft to it. [ This jacket is pretty much everything you want it to be for a running coat or rain coat or everyday wear coat!:) It is so thin, lightweight and the material is very stretchy. I love that it's made of 75% recycled material and is also waterproof. Cool! My favorites about this coat are in the details though!! The sleeves have elastic so you can pull them up your arms and they stay. The zipper pulls all have a little extender on them for convenient use and there is an elastic hook to hang the coat by. Probably my favorite detail is the design of the hood pulls. You can pull your hood tight and lock it into place with a stopper. But even more awesome, the stopper is on a loop with a little blocking washer so your strings wo n't get lost in the holes of the hood during wear or washing. Amazing design!!! The only thing I would mention here is that I am a woman and this is a mens coat so the design is very straight; no room for hips at all- so I would suggest getting a womens style coat if you are at all curvy. For me I just tuck it under. Also for a men's small to fit me perfect makes me think it may run a bit small( as I think most Nike items do). Overall, highly recommend.

[ I love the feeling of this jacket. It's soft and comfortable. It's unlike any jacket I 've had in the past and is very trendy. I travel a lot for work and carry a heavy back pack, I replaced my small umbrella with this jacket. It rolls up pretty small and is a lot lighter than the umbrella, which helps with reducing weight of having to lug around through my travels. The stylish look combined with the light weight stretchy feel makes this jacket stand alone in my collection that I 'll resort to for many occasions and not just for a cloudy rainy day. It's also not like any other typical rain coats, this one does n't make you feel like you 're wearing a plastic bag and make you all sweaty. The jacket fits perfect. It is roomy, so if you want a tighter fit you may want to go a size down. As a heads up the tall size does have longer arm length on the sleeves so the extra elbow room may not sit directly on the elbow. But overall as 6' 5 '' I 'm glad I went with the tall. I love the materials. The jacket itself has a really interesting touch to it. It almost feels rain resistant, obviously not rain- proof. Overall a great lightweight jacket.

Love this jacket. Got the matching set in all black. I will say, in comparison to previous year's tech products — the zippers feel cheap, and tend to get stuck. My jacket also came with a random thread embedded into the chest area, with a piece of tape behind it. Seemed like something missed from the factory, but I removed it with some tweezers. I 'm usually a size L, but I found the jacket to fit big so I sized down to a medium.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.
