There 's a reason you see so many really favorable reviews of this jacket. It checks all the boxes. Packable, super light, blocks the wind, repels mist or light rain and looks great. Pull it out of your kit at a windy summit or the top of a pitch. If you are slim and athletic, it fits true to your usual size. I have a paunchy `` dad bod '', so I had to go up one size for midriff room. You wo n't have to, though. I also have the lined hoody version of this garment, and like it equally for belaying or just spectating at the base of the crag.

I have been using multiple Kor products for a while and added this one to my closet recently. It has many uses but what I use it for is early morning hikes and rides. It adds just enough warmth over a base layer to reduce the bite of morning chill. The fabric is crazy stretchy and soft, and while I have n't been rough on this one, my insulated Kor Strata is a ski layer I have hammered all season with no issue. This thing is crazy packable too so it makes it easy to shove into a pocket or my lumbar pack.

It 's not so great to have air come up thru the bottom with no way to tighten up. Additionally, the no wrist cuff is bizarre. Amazing. Such a great jacket; it ’s lightweight, breathable, good for active use, feels extremely well made, and has a great fit. At 6 ’ 1, 165lbs, the medium felt tailored. The octa lining is done fantastically. Pertex and octa are both some of the best durable, lightweight, and breathable materials and pair amazingly well. Construction is some of the best I ’ ve seen; very heavy duty dual use zipper that works like butter is amazing to see on such a lightweight garment. Dual chest pockets also clutch and super practical if wearing harnesses. Hand pockets have sync and keychain holders, and feel great to use in a more casual environment. Octa is like super synthetic cashmere, extremely well insulating. This jacket I think can work in any environment from below freezing to upper 60 ’s with proper layering. Very light weight. Packing compressed it a lot and it took a couple days for it to expand out. My first time wearing it was in 30 degrees and it kept me very warm. I am 5' 6 '' and a large was a good fit for me, especially for arm length. I am a little concerned about longevity because of how light weight it is, but time will tell on that. Material and stitching are top notch and the jacket is very comfortable to wear. I HATE the feeling of gortex and this has more of silky feel inside and out, which is perfect. For a general use winter jacket this is perfect.

Had an issue with my Stretch Ozonic and grabbed this. Holy cow- this jacket is insanely light and rather durable. I ’ ve put about 300ish rainy, muddy, sloppy miles on this jacket when gravel riding and it hasn ’ t missed a beat. Packs down into my bar bag with room to spare.

I really like this jacket so far. I am 6' 2 '' around 205- 210 and I bought the XL. I think this fits well if not a bit long in the arms. The jacket sleeves do down a bit past my knuckles and the back extends down pretty far, but its the perfect length to still have coverage on my back if I am bent forward( biking) or if I reach above my head. I guess that 's what you want in a rain jacket, although if I lose a bit of weight I fear this jacket may become too baggy. The sleeves are velcro so they can be tightened in order to not droop down past your wrists.

I purchased this specifically for the Breck Epic Mountain Bike Race. This is a 6 day mountain bike race that takes you high into the alpine for extended periods of time around Breckenridge Colorado. I needed a jacket that was light and packed down small but offered good protection and breathability during aerobic riding. I can tell it ’s going to be warm enough for the E coast winter but what really blows my mi d is just how light it is. This jacket is superb, top of the line materials and warm. I love the design of the cuffs and the color ways. Unfortunately the Ghost Whisperer 2 runs very small, all of my Mountain Hardwear gear I ’ ve worn XL including my Absolute Zero summit suit but a XXL in this jacket ran VERY snug. Didn ’ t give me a lot of room to move around but it served its purpose.

This is my second Ghost Whisperer jacket. My first one is about six years old and is still in great shape, save for a couple places where the stitching is coming undone( I might talk to warranty about that...). I also have a StretchDown jacket, but I prefer the Ghost Whisperer, as it provides better protection against the wind. I can layer the Ghost Whisperer with a light merino wool sweater and be plenty warm in temperatures well below freezing. It 's also perfect for traveling since it 's so light and warm. I love that I can stuff it into its own pocket and use it as a pillow on the airplane. It was a no- brainer to take it with on a three week trip to Ireland and France in the early shoulder season. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

I have used the Ghost Whisper Jacket for about 2 years underneath a different coat which is The North Face Summit 3 The coat fits me a little snug with a shirt over a T shirt but it works fine with just a t shirt which has held up with 2 years of use fine. I get Cold easily and do not walk fast due to diabetic neuropathy. Mainly the use of jacket is for around town or if a building is too cold. On hikes just today I used it underneath the North Face Summit 3 when it was 55 degrees along with a T shirt since I stand a lot when I am on hikes.. I had no problems with snugness Some of the time I just stood and looked at nature which would make a person more sensitive to cold. Concerning the Mountain Hardware 2 series I can not make a comparison. Overall the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisper Jacket has worked fine underneath my North Face size small jacket. Since I am a a size small person the Mountain Hardware Ghost Jacket is a size small. I am five foot 7 inches and weigh 170 to 175 pounds. I highly recommend the Mountain Hardware Ghost 2 series Jacket.

Absolutely killer jacket. Bought it to use for teaching a backpacking class in the late fall in high mountains of Idaho where it can get pretty cold pretty quick. Used it in- 10f weather with a baselayer underneath and shell on top and stayed toasty the whole time. Provides an honestly impressive amount of wind resistance even on the seams. A lot of people claim durability issues but I 've used it climbing, backpacking, and bikepacking for about two years now and it 's done amazingly. Well done Mountain Hardwear!

Keeps me warm in the 30s easily with just a normal shirt and a sweater. With real layers I have been able to walk approx 30 minutes round trip in the low 20s and strong winds. It ’s very warm and also gives you that psychological warmth boost of a fat, cozy puffer. The length is just right if you need a big outermost layer but don ’ t want a full parka length. I bought this at the employee store. The shell feels like it has more texture and feels durable. Those things were obvious. The size is nice and roomy without being too bulky, It fits just right. I ca n't speak of cold winters just yet, but layering this with something under would be enough for me. The color is true to the picture. It has some good pocket verity.( small on the front, regular pockets on the side, and pockets on the inside. This is good jacket overall. Only way they could improve on this jacket is if they went with 700 fill.

Excellent light vest for keeping it flashy when you need that extra warmth but do n't want to sacrifice arm mobility. Added to my wardrobe for winter mixed climbing after a few years of feeling like Ralphie from Christmas Story, and sweet mother of god the difference in comfort is a game changer. I stay just as warm, but do n't feel like I have a wad of underwear in my armpits. Great stuff. Sizing runs a bit large- I 'm 6' 3 '' 215lbs and XL is a wee bit baggy on me. Great for layering over thicker base layers, but a bit loose if you 're headed into the office to turn heads. On a side note, I tend to be pretty conservative with color selection as a white hetero dude- all blues and grays. Tried to go out on a limb here, and the warm yellow tones on this jacket make me feel like a little ball of sunshine. Nice pallet, OR. Thanks for giving the bois an alternative to the norm.

This is a warm jacket that is nice and packable which is exactly what I purchased it for. It fits well and is extremely comfortable. Not quite sure how durable it will be, only time will tell. I ordered the jacket in the orange, and the actual color of the jacket is substantially different from how bright it is in the photo( actual jacket is not that bright) which is not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

[ Have been on a hunt for a new shirt jack, and this is the one I liked best out the 4 I tried. Very well built, lightweight and wind breaking. The poly insulation is just thick enough without being bulky, and plenty warm. I run hot, so this is great for me. I live in a wet climate, so water resistance is important. When I received this, the first test was to run water over my sleeve in the sink. The water ran right off. Recently had a scrap with a rose branch and the tough shoulder material was unaffected. Excellent addition to my daily use and outdoor recreation clothing gear. The jacket packs down quickly to about the size of a 500 mL water bottle. The Ghost Whisper UL has become a key piece of layering gear for mountaineering, hikes, and just around town. Super light, comfortable, warm, and stylish. Checks all the boxes. The only other puffy that compares is the whisperer/2 which trades a little down loft for a slightly tougher shell fabric.
