turned my resonator banjo into an open- back. took off the steel strings and restrung it using this mono leader in open g tuning; 20lb: 5th& 1st strings, 30lb: 3rd& 2nd strings, 40lb: 4th string. once the leader stopped stretching& finally settled in, the banjo stays in tune. if i ever break a string, 50yds will last a lifetime.

I have purchased this to use on my light tackle inshore rods a while back as leader material. I use the 15lb test variety in a 3- 6' leader configuration depending on where I 'm fishing and what the structure is like below. I 've landed quite a few monster Jacks using this leader material with minimal wear and tear to the leader. I have lost one hard fighting blue runner but that's because I failed to inspect the leader after a hard jack fight. Have yet to have lost anything else since using this leader material. It does disappear quite nicely in the water.

Good Stuff! very strong.... Never had any issues. It was put to the test a couple of months ago ran into some small Black Tip Sharks. They where hitting my bait pretty hard and leaders I made where holding up. I was able to get they to the boat to DE hook them. And was able to use the leader again for a couple more catches before changing it..

This stuff has been impossible to find in stores. I always had to order it. As with most people that fish a lot( 4+ times a week), we tend to be very particular about things. I have rods with braid, mono, and Florida for different applications. The ML spinning reels normally got 8lb Ande mono which has been great, but I always wanted something with less stretch. Small twitchbaits usually mean some line slack, which really plays havoc with braid after a while, especially in the wind. I really like the sufix advance. Lower stretch than regular mono, very supple, very smooth, decently tough, overall a great line. For the price, I think everyone should try it.

This is the best nonbraided line ever. Has less stretch than flouro and is more sensitive. Has extreme abrasion resistance but casts really well and far. Sufix hit a home run with this line. I just wish Dick's would have the green in stores.

Use this line alot it is easy to cast and very strong and sensitive for feeling light bites. I use the 4- 6- 8lb line so I ca n't comment on the heavier lines but I have pulled up quite a few branches off the bottom without the line breaking or the knot failing! Of course I have caught many nice sized bass and pickerel on this line. I really reccomend this line for finnese fishing nedrig and neko rig and many other applications. Have no idea why this line is not available in bulk spools but I hope they will at some time! Try this line it is really good line!

A monofilament leader is a single-strand line made from nylon that is used to connect the main fishing line to the hook or lure. It provides a level of invisibility in the water, reducing the chances of fish detecting the line. Monofilament leaders are commonly used in various fishing techniques, including freshwater and saltwater fishing, to enhance the overall fishing experience.
Monofilament leaders offer several advantages, including flexibility and ease of handling, which can enhance casting distance and accuracy. They also provide good shock absorption, making them ideal for fighting fish. Additionally, monofilament leaders are generally more affordable compared to other materials, making them a popular choice among anglers.
Choosing the right strength for a monofilament leader depends on the type of fish you are targeting and the fishing conditions. Consider factors such as the size and species of the fish, the type of bait or lure being used, and the environment (freshwater or saltwater). A good rule of thumb is to select a leader that is stronger than your main line to ensure it can handle the stress of fighting a fish.
Yes, monofilament leaders can be effectively used in both freshwater and saltwater fishing. However, it is important to choose a leader specifically designed for saltwater use if you are fishing in that environment, as these leaders are often treated to resist abrasion and UV damage. Freshwater leaders may not hold up as well in saltwater conditions.
The length of a monofilament leader can greatly affect your fishing success and should be determined based on the fishing technique being used. Longer leaders can provide better stealth and reduce the visibility of the line to fish, while shorter leaders may offer increased sensitivity and control. Additionally, consider the type of water you are fishing in, as deeper or clearer waters may benefit from longer leaders.
The diameter of a monofilament leader plays a crucial role in its performance, affecting both its visibility in the water and its strength. Thinner leaders are less visible to fish, which can improve your chances of a catch, but they may also be less durable and more prone to breaking under stress. Conversely, thicker leaders offer greater strength and abrasion resistance but may be more detectable by fish.
