[ I had a first generation WAVE multi- tool before. I loved it dearly. It had everything one could possibly ask for. I used it during my time in the military and well into my civilian life. Better than the small Swiss Army knife. I use the knife blade most. All blades are adequate... Yes, one is hard to open but I never use it anyway. Just got to remember that the size has its positive as well as negative points. Easy to carry in my pocket. Not too big or bulky. Not an overwhelming blade to use for self defense( ha ha). But usually adequate for most of your needs.

Excellent tool. I have the blackout version. Blades are a little stiff but not that you ca n't safely open them with a fingernail, with use they are getting smoother and easier to open. Scissors are great, package owner is nice and the tweezers are actually nice in a pinch. Bottle opener works well and is great to use to hook to a Key Chain or to run a piece of 550 cord through. The split ring for going on a key chain is weak and really useless. I 'll be buying one for my wife and daughter.

The knife is heavy compared to others I have at the same size but I like that substantial feeling and it is more difficult to flip compared to knives with a thumb stud but because of that the blade never gets hung up by the stud.

Mine arrived nicely boxed, and I was pleased with the heft and feel of the tool in my hand. Edged tools came razor sharp. Easy to open and close tools. The fine, needle- nosed pincers are my favorite tool- teeth fit together perfectly. Bits are all appropriate, although I may swap out a few- easy to do with the millions of available bits in that size. Nice sheath, belt loop, attachment points. I really like the stonewash finish. I can go from Respiratory Therapy scrubs to EMS uniform with this baby as it is designed for use in pre- hospital as well as in- facility care. I have owned the Leatherman ARC Talos for several weeks and have come to appreciate the exceptional build quality. The FREE technology comes in very handy for operating one- handed. I love the locking mechanism for the tools and the accessibility from outside of the multi tool. Does not come with a case; however, it does come with a nice pocket clip that securely holds the tool in place. Be careful when flicking the tool open with one hand: it can bite if your index finger is too close to the top of the handles.

The first one I bought in 1976 it lasted 33 years before the lock broke. I sent it back to Buck and they completely refurbished it to new condition at no cost to me. The second one I received as a Christmas gift. It has a drop point Burlap handle and cpm20cv steel. It is too pretty for every day use so I bought the latest one from Dick's. The lock can be easily operated with one hand and all of the tools can be accessed from the outside. I 'll start by saying, if you 're thinking of purchasing the Kiku XR LTE CF Blackout version or any of the Kikus for that matter, you 're wasting time reading reviews... JUST BUY IT! You will NOT be sorry. I was all set to buy another brand of knife, then I saw a review of the Kiku XR on YT. I made note of it and kept coming back over and over to it. Next thing I know, I was reviewing my cart on the SOG. I have to say, this brawny little folder has SOOO much going on, it's just mind blowing! A flat- grind and a hollow- grind blade with a recurve AND a harpoon point that's made out of cryo 'd XHP that rides on ball bearings. The coolest Linen Micarta scales that eventually take on their own visual personality, and you even get a bolt- action pistol sound when the blade is flicked open vs an almost electronic servo feel and sound when deploying the blade using the flipper tab. Even the XR lock is the only bar- style lock that stages the blade when actuated and sucks the blade back to secure it when at rest. This makes for the ultimate non- assisted flipper knife that's an absolute blast to play with. All I can say is `` HOLY POOPAGE ''!

I needed a small pocket knife to carry with me on trail runs. I didn ’ t want anything too big or cumbersome and this product fit the bill perfectly. The knife is rugged and fairly sharp. It also comes with two integrated driver bits( Phillips and flat head) that magnetically fit into the end of the knife, which doubles as a screwdriver.
