Though I read that some thought the snarl's blade was too thick and not sharp, I liked the thickness and thought that the blade was very sharp. I was concerned before I got the knife that without a small guard extending out in front of your middle finger like the Brous Silent Stalker that there might be a chance that your middle finger might come in contact with the blade, but after feeling how the blade is locked into your fingers I no longer concerned about that. When my son got this for Christmas he thought is was very cool, my son is 33 and can handle a knife. A nice EDC to carry in your day pack or bug- out bag. Thanks.- Michael Dixon

I bought one Gerber Strong Arm( FDE) and liked how useful it was that I bought another in Black. As a former Marine who is used to carrying a KaBar, the Strong Arm is more useful to me. I like the shorter blade, the grip, and the pommel. I sometimes like to Scout Carry a fixed blade and the Gerber Strong Arm is a great knife for that type of carry.

Out the box it was near shaving sharp, some light stropping put it there. Feels great in the hand and has great control. I haven ’ t done any hard use with it yet just some box cutting, yard work stuff, other small tasks. I have two Seal Pup's, now that I found one in one of our cars. I lost one some time ago, and always want one handy at all times. It is a tough, sharp tool for cutting extra strong, large cardboard boxes for recyclying. This is one great all around knife for the toughest jobs.

Well thought out survival design. I typically do n't care for serrations; but on this particular knife they only use up a very small portion of a very large cutting surface. There's still ample regular edge for fine cutting, and the small serrated section for tough, problematic materials; so that was well designed. And of course there's also the sawback feature along the spine, and the hammer pommel. A finger guard was a necessity, and the abbreviated hook at the pommel end helps generate torque when chopping while helping prevent the knife from flying out of the hand while doing so. Very versatile knife; if you found yourself out in the sticks for any considerable length of time, you could still accomplish a great deal with this tool at your disposal.
