So far so good. I looked long& hard for something to help with campsite organization. We&# x27; re a camping family that takes meal prep seriously- we don&# x27; t settle for hotdogs and canned bbq beans alone- not knocking hotdogs, but we do enjoy a good meal at camp. Along with that comes a chaotic camp kitchen. I&# x27; d read enough positive reviews on the slim- fold to sway me to pick one up. We used it over a 4- day 4th of July camping trip to put it through its paces. I&# x27; m quite happy with it- it upgraded my kitchen storage game quite a bit. I&# x27; m impressed by the build quality and expect it&# x27; ll last a good number of years. Quite steady. If it had been a bit deeper it might be sturdier, but once it has a few heavy items on top, it&# x27;s pretty steady on flat/even ground. And that&# x27; d be a trade- off. I&# x27; d r recommend it to a fried. While I give it 5 stars, I&# x27; d note two things: 1) addition of a hangable mesh under the main surface would expand dish drying surface greatly, and 2) keep in mind that the aluminum main surface is a little slippery- we use a metal Camp Chef stove and it was a little slippery. I&# x27; m going to look for a 16x24 '' peice of thin rubber to create a friction layer between them so it doesn&# x27; t slip around.

Our town in NH only allows fires of out size to be cooking fires before 5 pm. We decided to start cooking breakfast over the fire. We use this with a cast iron skillet and griddle to make all sorts of breakfast foods. This fits perfect over our fire pit and works exactly as expected. [ This portable fold- up X- Grill by Oniva is great for grilling burgers, sausages, and simple cuts of meat. It folds up really nicely and comes with a handy over- the- shoulder carrying bag. The bag and compact design makes it very easy to take with you if you want to grill things at a tailgate, at the beach, or at a park, for example. The grill itself gets the job done well enough but leaves a few things to be desired. The grates are n't perfectly lined up with the side that holds it in place and it is a little bit wobbly since the grate is also made of three pieces attached together. The charcoal sits very close to the cooking grates so food items cook very quickly and can burn more easily, resulting in things like burgers and hotdogs working out well but not so much for more complicated food items like chicken. Ideally a cover or lid would be a great additional feature to help control airflow and to control how hot the grill gets. All in all, this X- Grill is still a very handy thing to have on hand since it can easily be stored away when not in use. I also wish the bag that it came with had a zipper or a velcro closure because as it is now, it's just a non- secure flap that tucks into the bag, allowing for the grill to slide out if it falls over.

This will work well for you, if you realize how to use Cast Iron. It will heat slowly with the first pie and then probably burn if you do n't pay close attention. After that they will come out of the fire perfectly toasted and fairly fast. We had one as kids for camping with our family. It lasted over 40 years and one of my siblings has it now. I bought one for our family, so we could enjoy the same memories! Not very expensive either!

I am often guilty of associating price with quality. So when looking for a pie iron for motorcycle camping I bought a Rome pie iron for more than 2x price of the Coghlan ’s version, but found the 28 ” handles don ’ t detach so they wont fit in my panniers. We bought this item two years ago and it is a dream. We keep all our kitchen gear in it and there is room to spare. We could probably shove everything into two of the storage bags and use the bottom compartment, unzipped, to store the camp stove. We leave the table top in place so we can use the pocket for longer items like spatulas and tongs that wo n't fit in the gear bags. I love that the camp kitchen is modular, so everything is convenient; no digging through plastic bins. I 've seen people go to great lengths to build camp kitchens like a cabinet maker, but this is smaller, lighter, and just as durable. Assembly out of the box is not too bad, and sometimes one of the legs resists sliding( a little dry lube should keep that working). I purchase this last month over other brands for it versatility as well as the smoke box feature which allows me to cold smoke or add more smoke flavor during my cook. Instructions for assembly were simple and straight forward. I appreciated the hardware bags were labeled by step corresponding to the assembly directions. Simple two man assembly can be don in 90 minutes. I added the side kick pizza oven and sear box which work incredibly well. The pizza oven will get as hot as you need to make a crispy personal pizza. Great packaging job however the sides of the grill suffered small dents on each side. These dents will not affect performance of grill. The hopper was also dented enough that the grate would not fit. I took a soft blow hammer and banged out the dent. My biggest gripe was it is not depicted or stated how and where to store excess wire for the temperature probe? Assembly was easy, I like how the bags of hardware were labeled by step. This helped make assembly a breeze. Definitely a two man job and the only tool need was a Phillips screwdriver.
