Bought one as a present for my father. After using it a few times, I needed one for myself. Cleaned mainly walleye with it and a few perch so far and it does a great job. I was very impressed with the overall package as a whole. 4 blades, 2 lithium batteries, charger and case. The case is super nice and very well thought out, everything has a really nice snug fit. Highly recommend this product. I have other Bubba blades and just like those knives this one did not disappoint!

Cuts amazing, and if it ’s possible is almost to sharp. The blades made quick work no issues. Battery has plenty of power, oversized handle fits great for even smaller hands, and cut off great filets. very minimal waste of meat even with this being my first time filtering with electric. I ’ ll never go back. Thanks for quality BUBBA!

I bought this knife to fillet panfish with, I used it multiple times during this past winter to fillet dozens of crappies and other pannies. I then brought the knife with me to Missouri for a goose hunt this spring. The knife removes the breasts from the bone with ease. I now carry this knife with me alot when I am grilling and preparing food. The handle is up the bubba quality and the knife is second to none. I will buy more Bubba's because of my experience with this knife!!

Got this for my husband( from his mom). Love the hard plastic storage case and the knife looks great.

5 RB
I used the product to filet 15 Croakers. Took me less than 1 min each. Would have taken me 4 times that time with my limited skills. Served its purpose. Happy with the purchase. Not thrilled about the price.

4 Revjaxon
I 've filleted prehaps 1000 bass, crappies, and bluegill over the last 3 years. Sometimes up to 100 at a time. The little plastic gear that runs the blades and attaches to the worm gear stripped out and I can not find a replacement.

4 MARK TRAIL
This knife was a birthday gift two years ago. After cleaning 1200 or so perch and a hundred walleye I would recommend for moderate use. Plenty of power and the blades have lasted well cutting through perch bones. Would n't use on walleye bones. The one thing that has broken was this ridiculous safety which was more of a hazard. Since its demise the knife is great. Look forward to using it this year again!

I have been fishing for over 40 years, used a lot of traditional blades plus several electric knives, but nothing has made the job so much fun until now. The Bubba Fillet Knife is comfortable to hold, engineering to allow you to grip it optimally for all the tasks, and goes through a fish like a knife through soft butter. 5 SithLord
I 've had my eye on this set for a while, and finally picked it up a few weeks ago. Very happy with the quality and build of the knives. Carrying case is also very nice. I 'm a tiny bit disappointed with the cutting board as it's pretty small and thin/flimsy, but realizing it's intended to be used out in the field or at the campsite, I completely understand why they kept it small and lightweight. It would definitely work for some quick small work if needed, but I 'm intending to use these knives mostly at home so I 'm not concerned. Highly recommended set of knives!

5 Jerry
Bought these for my patio cooking. Great knife set. Easy to handle

5 Joe
We bought this set last year with the thought of it being strictly for my camp kitchen. We busted it out on the first night camping after making brisket and holy cow are these thing sharp! It carved the brisket up just perfect and smooth. I have since used these for just about every BBQ out door cooking event I have gone to. Only thing I wish was different was the pocket for the cutting boards was a bit bigger to hold one or two more but over all I am very pleased with this set.

5 Kip
An outstanding value for a full set of cutlery. All the utensils you would need for any cutting, chopping, or slicing situation. Did a full filet on some freshly caught yellowtail, super easy. Extremely sharp and holds the edge very well.

5 Bani
After receiving the knife set promptly I was able to see the quality. I' very pleased with the knife set

Frequently Asked Questions For Outdoor Fillet Knife

When selecting an outdoor fillet knife, consider the blade material, length, and flexibility. A stainless steel blade is often preferred for its durability and resistance to corrosion. Additionally, a comfortable grip and a well-designed sheath for safe storage are important features to enhance usability during fishing trips.

The ideal blade length for an outdoor fillet knife typically ranges from 6 to 9 inches, depending on the size of the fish you plan to fillet. A longer blade can provide better leverage for larger fish, while a shorter blade offers more control for smaller species. Ultimately, the choice should align with your specific fishing needs and preferences.

Yes, outdoor fillet knives can be designed for both freshwater and saltwater use, but it's essential to choose one that is made from corrosion-resistant materials if you plan to use it in saltwater. Proper maintenance, such as rinsing and drying the knife after use, will also help prolong its lifespan regardless of the water type.

Outdoor fillet knives come with various handle types, including rubberized, plastic, and wood. Rubberized handles often provide a better grip, especially when wet, while wooden handles can offer a classic aesthetic. It's important to choose a handle that feels comfortable in your hand and allows for a secure grip during filleting.

To ensure the durability of your outdoor fillet knife, select one made from high-quality materials such as stainless steel for the blade and durable materials for the handle. Regular maintenance, including cleaning and proper storage, will also help maintain its performance and longevity. Avoid using the knife for tasks other than filleting to prevent damage.

A flexible fillet knife allows for greater maneuverability, making it easier to navigate around bones and contours of the fish, which is ideal for delicate filleting. In contrast, a stiff fillet knife provides more control and strength, making it suitable for larger fish or tougher cuts. Your choice should depend on the type of fish you typically fillet and your personal preference.
