I bought this at the beginning of the trout season just so I didn ’ t have the break the bank. After about a month of using it, I can confidently say that this rod exceeded my expectations. It casts nice and far, and the reel feels solid. The rod itself hasn ’ t given me any issues and is super sensitive. I would just recommend removing the line that comes on it and replacing it with nicer mono or braided. Besides that 10/10!!

To be clear, I fish exclusively freshwater. I will jig( sharp- n- short twitch- like hook sets repeated on a fairly loose drag setting on my reel- to prevent snags) this minnow with a tiny 1/32oz jighead on the 2 ” model- so it fall through the water slowly. When I do this, the lure is worth every penny. I bought this product over six months ago and I am only on my second minnow! This lure and technique is incredibly effective! Get it and start twitching it off the bottom of you body of water. It ALSO works in muddy water. Which blew my mind. I am so happy with this lure! I do think the stock jighead is too heavy, so just swap it for 1/32 or 1/24. Only go 1/16 for letting the current drift the lure.

If you dont catch fish on Joe's, theyre not biting!!! I took a 21 inch large mouth on a Joe's first cast after hitting the waters with the standard bass lures... In fact wife and I both started using them with great results.... These are our goto lures on new water bodies with unknown specimens. Nailed a 14. 5 inch black crappie on them the following week... I have only been able to go fishing twice since purchasing this reel. I put it on my teenage daughter's rod the first time and then fixed the reel that was on her rod for the next time.
