Playing a year now. First paddle was wooden then on to The Onix Evoke. It's light but do n't feel a loss for power. Played recreationally a lot of ping pong as a kid and some tennis and racquetball so went for the shape which is similar. Overall the 505 has been an excellent paddle for me, I have used this paddle for two years as this is my second one. The paddle has great balance and control and the long handle allows two handed. Backhands, it also has a wonderful grip. I have played with many other popular paddles from different companies and this paddle by far has the best overall qualities of control and power.

Having played with many of the top brands the thing that sets the 505 apart is its large and consistent sweet- spot. This effects your entire game but for me it tremendously helped with the 3rd/5th/7th shot drops. I believe this is a great paddle for everyone but especially the 3. 5- 4. 0 player trying to progress forward to 4. 5. Even better than the paddle is the customer service. I hear guys talking about other big name manufacturers making them jump through hoops for a warranty claim. Not Onix! They take care of their customers. I contacted them about my issue in the morning, sent in pics of my issue and a new paddle was in my hands 2 days later! Because it is a performance paddle, it comes with a 1 year warranty. I read the review and saw the pics of a guy who broke his handle….. just contact Onix. They will replace it within a year. My first paddle and has been great to learn with. I bought this ladle nexuses it's felt the best in my hand. Other grips were too `` short ''. I do notice that the ball really flies when you hit it off the sweet spot. Off sweet spot hits are a little deader as you would expect. It's nice and light- can play for hours with no fatigue.

I usually play at Paddletek Tempest Pro but the transition to this paddle was so easy. Spin, power without effort, and nice balance even though it is a lightweight paddle. I prefer that for quick reaction time at the net since I 'm getting older rather than faster.

I 've only played 4 times with this paddle but have used many other paddles prior to this one. I chose it because I like a light- weight paddle with balanced feel, and can generate both spin and power. I usually play a Paddletek Tempest Pro but thought I 'd try this due to price and curiosity. I was able to take advantage of a great sale but would recommend this purchase even at regular price. I have n't played with it enough to know how long the grit might last. Other players have commented on uniqueness of the graphics.
