I had a pair of the Iron Rangers and liked the comfort of the footbed, but the sole provided no cushioning, so I sold them. I bought these about five weeks ago and I like them very much. They were pretty comfortable right away, but I did have to endure some irritation on one heel for the first week or so. There is no longer any irritation, and the footbed had formed to my feet more so, so I really enjoy wearing them. They have pretty good cushioning because of the soles. The boots are a little challenging to get on because the tongue is gusseted so high, but that is certainly not a deal breaker.

I expected a break- in period but these blacksmiths were comfortable out of the box. Soft but supportive and the fit was perfect for me. No chafing, roomy but not loose. The traction was good even in wet weather. And they are fine to wear even during hot and humid days where I live. Chose the copper rough and tough because I think the look is so classic and understated. Love the versatility as well. Can use them with just about every pair of pants and( even shorts) in my closet. I wear these shoes to work every day and everywhere. Tough as nails and looks great even beat up. I never complain about foot pain anymore with these. The soles are so tough and the wear is minimal. The leather does wear out after a while meaning a looser fit but the hide hold up. I 'm on my 3 or 4th pair.

This is my first pair of suede/roughout type boots and my second pair of Durangos and WOW am I in love with these!! My absolute favorite pair right now for sure. All of my shoes are a size 8. 5, but my first pair of Durangos I bought an 8 which ended up being too big and gave me blisters, so I decided to try a 7. 5 for this pair and they fit SO perfectly! They were comfortable from the moment I put them on and have yet to give me a blister or sore foot. I guide trail rides in the summer here in Montana, so I put these bad boys to work right away, and man did they hold up! I spent 12+ hours in them some days and we do a ton of walking between rides, but my feet were never sore or uncomfortable in these. They are fantastic to ride in as well and I really enjoy the thumb holes to help pull them on, as my arches can make that difficult in certain styles. I 'll be curious to see how long they last and how the suede/roughout holds up, but I have high hopes! I highly recommend these boots but be sure to double check what size you need before ordering.

OMG I CAN NOT say enough about these boots.... I will be ordering them in all 3 colors. I had yet to find a hiking boot that didnt cause me foot pain, blisters, or hot spots.... until now.
