From the blade to handle ratio, ambidextrous construction, lightweight glass fiber polymer, slim no nonsense design, to the firm feel of the liner lock and blade stop. the tolerance is so tight that there is no blade play out of the box. I do n't typically fall in love with a knife at first sight. However with this one I immediately had to buy it. If there was one thing I 'd change about it. The Salute Mini is somewhat of a misnomer for this knife. It is a very well built, well balanced, mid- sized lockback. It has an excellent blade profile for piercing as well as slicing. Dual, bronze pivot washers are rare at this price point. Nothing was really skimped on with superb knife except maybe the bead blast finish as opposed to satin polish. I ca n't comment on the black version other than my personal preference for silver blades. You 'd be hard pressed to find better quality and value than the Salute `` Mini ''. It's a no B. S., awesome EDC.

Sorry to hear other do n't like it, but I lost my first one and am on the site to order another. The thin blade is great for my applications, I do carry a pen knife for small/precise uses and another for self defence( also a SOG). I did n't like the lock that kept it from accidently opening so I removed it with pliars. I consider adjusting the screws normal maintenance so the guy that complained it was too stiff is on him in my opintion. After a couple years of use you WILL have to tighten the screws on MOST knives, but once I had mine adjusted to preferance I have n't had to change it in a long time. I also do not like the thumb tabs as they wear a spot on my jeans so I also removed those, I might think about just grinding them down a bit on my new knife.

Bought this primarily due to sale price as I got the key chain multi tool and knife for what just the multi tool runs on Amazon. Both are great. Knife is feather weight so good choice if wanting a 2. 5 ” blade that you don ’ t notice.
