Went and had a custom fitting at 2nd Swing in Minnetonka three weeks ago. These irons were not even on my radar, Drew Bosely, my fitter put these in my hand after swinging the G430 and i530 irons. The trackman confirmed what I felt and saw, the dispersion and accuracy was phenomenal. Played my 1st round with them yesterday and they are as advertised, was pin high with all of my shots at the greens and their stopping power is amazing. I have been watching a lot of reviews on Wilson ’s over the years, went in and hit the v6 ’s loved them. But never pulled the trigger. Saw these and knew I had to grab em. Sold my irons two days later bought these the night of the release and two days later they were at my house! Not sure what other company does that. I finally upgraded from my old Nike 2003 irons which I loved. I recently retired and decided to get back into golf after a long layoff. I soon started upgrading my woods with Pings which got me to do the same with the irons. I kept being drawn to these clubs every time I went to Golf Galaxy. I decided to use Pings online measuring to see what they recommended and surprisingly it was these same irons. I gained yardage and accuracy. I have a natural hook and as advertised they helped straightened it and I gained distance. I used my old 9 for a 100- 120 yds and my 8 120- 140, with the these Pings my 9 is 130- 150 and my 8 140- 160 and they feel great when making contact.

I had the i210s, which were good. I felt like they had a left- bias and upgraded to the i230's when they came out. The i230's are ridiculously consistent and accurate. But I felt like they flighted too low and were not forgiving enough. I recently upgraded to the i240s. They are a little bit more of a game improvement iron. Maybe the i230's are better for 4 hdcp and better, but as a 7- 9 hdcp, I am really liking the i240s. Compared to the i230s, they have a slightly higher flight and are more forgiving. The slightly larger head and the normal grooves instill more confidence. Maybe they are not as deadly accurate and consistent as the i230s, but I 'm more comfortable with this tradeoff and iron profile. There are a lot of great irons out there, but I have confidence in Ping and they keep rewarding me.

I recently built my first custom club set using the True Temper Dynamic Gold regular flex R300 shaft. I installed them on a set of Snake Eyes irons in 5- GW, with a finished length one inch longer than standard and they work great. Follow the tip trimming recommendations on the True Temper website and cut them to whatever length is right for you, the kick point will stay right on through your set. The only issue is availability. True Temper makes three versions of the `` regular flex '' they are R200, R300, and R400; each one progressively heavier in weight, which will change the swing weight when installed. The R300 is the standard weight and unfortunately it's the ONLY one available at Dicks. Overall a great purchase, I dont see myself using anything else in steel shafts as long as I play.

8 HCP with iron play being a strength of my game. Paired with Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 S. A quick shoutout to Wilson ’s custom shop for doing such a nice job, and with so many options. As for the clubs, feel is fantastic and control is on par with other top current CBs such as ZXi7. Good strikes will be met with a solid and satisfying thud, and the ball feels fast of the face, but not uncontrolled. Easy to launch and easy to spin. Forgiveness is shockingly good. Assuming you ’ re not hitting it off the hosel or ungrooved toe, and are somewhere between the 2nd and 6- 7th grooves, you can expect distance to be within ~5 yards of your ideal strike even on the most egregious of misses( as defined for a reasonably competent player). Turf interaction is comfortable and predictable. Overall, a real nice club and one that I anticipate I ’ ll have in my bag for a while.

I ’ ve played 5 rounds with these and I ’ m very glad I bought them. I traded in my Srixon ZX5 ’s for these. At first the size scared me to death. They look really thin. I tried them and the fear quickly went away. Very forgiving. At 56 and a 10 handicap I ’ m hitting the 7 around 162. This is the first set of clubs I can square the face on and swing away. These are great. Give them a try. I like them better than Srixon and Mizuno.

I went in store as a player who floats right around or below 100, I shot a career best 91 two weeks later. Maxfli clubs are legit it ’s great to see them back in the game.

I played Mizuno 921 Forged for two years and loved their feel and workability. But as I have aged, my game has slipped and I wasn ’ t catching that smaller sweet spot from 160 in. Switched to the G430s with regular Alta shafts and Shazam the iron game is back. It took some trial and error with the PW through 58 but the yardage results are tight and satisfying.
