I bought this a a month ago prior to travelling from UK to Canada and the USA. Used for work/ gym/ commute( on the days I need a bigger bag), train/ carryon air travel and day hikes. I can ’ t really fault it, you can use all the space available very easily, there ’s enough rigidity in the back to hold its shape even when not full and straps and handles seem sufficiently sturdy and comfortable. Some might prefer more pockets and compartments but I prefer the openness and flexibility between the quick access pocket at the top and the main compartment that butterflies open. You can be more strategic how you use that so long you remember what you need is on what side and only open that part. Drinks holder seems very sturdy, never drops. This replaces a Arc ’ Teryx Mantis that broke and is recommend this one for sure, and feels better made!

The material is well made and I especially love the way it can fit packing cubes. I also like the way the main compartment is accessed via a zipper that allows it to fully open when lying flat.

I took this bag on a 10- day trip to Italy, and it exceeded all my expectations. With an average of 25- 30k steps each day, the bag remained incredibly comfortable throughout. One day, I carried two bottles of wine and a quilt around Capri with ease; on another, I transported five bottles of wine from Ischia to Sorrento without a hitch. The clam shell design was a game- changer — when I nearly got pickpocketed in Rome, the thief couldn ’ t get into the bag, thanks to how I secured the zippers. Initially, I was concerned the bag might be too big, but when it came time to pack souvenirs and wine, the extra space was a lifesaver. I even used it as my carry- on in the airport, and it held everything I needed with room to spare. This bag was, without a doubt, the best travel companion I could have asked for.

I bought the 30L travel backpack in February of 2024, along with some small and medium packing cubes from Peak Design. I 've been on two trips using this bag and the cubes, one for a 3 day business trip and another for a three week trip through Chili, Uruguay and Argentina. This has turned out to be a nearly perfect pack for me. On both trips I filled it with one medium cube containing pants, a small cube with shirts, and another cube with underwear. My 15 '' laptop also fit in nicely along with various toiletries and smaller items. I found it to be very comfortable on my back and easy to adjust. It has a nice, clean, unpretentious look to it. I also have a Pakt2 and an Aer Travel Pack 3. Although both are a little larger than the Peak Design, I found that the Peak Design turned out to be the most practical to pack and access among the three packs. I am very satisfied with this pack and the cubes. They make for a great packing system.

I bought this right before leaving for a two week in Costa Rica. I figured it would be rainy in Costa Rica even though it was the dry season. It still rained and got this bag wet. I bought this type of roll down water bag design because I have used just the bags for deep water soloing climbing and they work great. This bag worked just perfect to keep all my stuff dry. Mind you, I did n't jump into pools of water with it on and was n't stuck in downpours. I gave it only 4 stars because I did n't fully test it, however I 'm sure it would work just fine. Make sure you deflate the majority of the air out so you can roll it down tighter. Also, make sure to keep it rolled down evenly when securing the buckles. It will unravel some on one side and you would n't want it loose on one side to keep the water out. I 'm a male- 6ft 180lbs and the pack fits great!

I just got this pack a couple of minutes ago. It is very spacious and can hold one sleeping bag, plus a couple of extra things. Please beware though, it says tomato is the only color they have and that's what I ordered. Although, I received a black and gray pack. But, I 'm okay with that because I like that color. Back to the point though, I got the wrong color. It is a very good backpack overall. Also, its weather resistant. Its mostly, i would say, 95% a rubber type material. It seems very durable and feels like it can take a beating. 4 of 5 stars because DICK 'S sent the wrong color and not even a color advertised. This bag was never advertised as water proof keep that in mind. I use this as a day bag, it has performed flawlessly so far through torrential rain, sleet and snow. Do make sure you get atleast three tight rolls on the top. I 'm giving it 4 stars because of the length of time I 've had it, about 5 months. It's been on many day hikes and a couple overnighters. I usually do n't go over 12- 15 pounds, I pack a full hammock setup. Which includes tarp and underquilt as well as my Bushcrater trio, pack ax, a saw and a medium size knife as well as food and water and other small items. It is 3 kg in weight and size is perfect to be used as cabin bag for flights. There is separate space to carry 2 laptop, one ipad safely. I am a 35 years old nomad, and I 've been a nomad since my childhood( thank you, mom and dad!). So you can imagine that I ’ ve gone through my fair share of travel gear. But five years ago, I made the switch to this backpack, and let me tell you: it changed the game!! This isn ’ t just a bag; it ’s my life in carry- on form. We ’ re talking everything: clothes, two laptops, cameras, wires, other electronics, toiletries, you name it... I even managed to attach a tripod and camping tent on the front face for a while.( Who even designs something that versatile? Genius!!!) I am not the most careful person with my belongings, so backpack has seen it all. I ’ ve flown on airlines across every continent, and not once did it get issues using it as a carry- on. Okay, there was that one tiny plane where it wouldn ’ t fit in the overhead bin. But I found an easy solution: I pulled out my laptops, slid this backpack under the seat, and we were good to go.( Sure, the flight was cramped, but blame the plane, not the backpack 😂) It ’s not just about the space, though. This bag is comfy to carry for hours, perfectly balanced, with multiple carrying options and a sternum strap that ’s somehow both lightweight and super durable. And yes, it ’s heavier than my previous bags. But I ca n't complain, because it ’s built to last. Five years of travel( and trust me, my trips are not gentle), and it still looks like I just bought it. No scratches, no tears, not much wear( you can see it in the pic, although the backpack was super dirty on one of those pics lol). And I loooove the water resistance. This thing has survived downpours that left me drenched while my gear stayed dry. Mind you, I have my stuff inside plastic bags inside my backpack, just in case. But the last few times, nothing inside got wet anyway. I haven ’ t tested it recently, and I know that the water resistance may decrease over the years... but from my past experiences, it ’s never let me down.( I ’ ll update this review if that ever changes) If you ’ re on the fence because of the price, but you are looking for something to use for years, let me save you some time: just get it. The material feels incredible, and while placing a tripod in the side pockets does stretch it a bit, I ’ ve never felt like the material would give way. I wanted something big enough for ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies and short backpacking trips, yet be adjustable enough for small loads. It had to accommodate ice tools easily. I love my Big Agnes 32L pack for long trips abroad but sometimes you need a smaller pack for hikes, light travel, etc. This Osprey fills the bill and I am very impressed with the design. They are well known for the quality and it is obvious in this pack.

This is my first day pack with internal frame. It makes it very comfortable to wear, balancing the weight down onto my hips( even unbelted and even wearing it on one shoulder) and the frame with mesh back keeps my back cooler even in 93 degree humid weather. The pockets are n't ideal. The top front pocket is very small( and if you put a heavy phone there it is unbalanced). The internal( water or laptop) pocket is deep- so anything small put in there is lost to posterity( beware). The water bottle pockets on the side fit a smaller water bottle easily but tougher with anything larger. I used it as a carry on( personal item) and no complaints from the flight attendants about how it fit under the seat in front of me, though the top did stick out a little and I found it to be a bit in the way of stretching my lets. It fit a ton of stuff- I had an umbrella and rain jacket, wallet, cosmetic size bag with electronic cables and earbuds, cosmetic bag with actual cosmetics, book, magazine, two journals, an airport shopping bag( small), and small cosmetic bag with meds in there. There is a helpful clip to attach your neck pillow! It also has a rain cover in a pouch at the bottom that was very useful in a downpour, if a little hard to extract and put in place on the fly.

This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. This is exactly what I wanted out of a small backpack. Minimal pockets, but enough for what you need for a day out. Works great for work/commuting/gym/carryon. I mainly carry my bottle, an iPad, and a couple wires. Sometimes throw an extra shirt in there too if I ’ m going to the gym.
