I have 40L and 50L packs for canyoneering and rock climbing, and a 5L vest mainly for hydration and snacks. Enter the NANO 16. It has become the perfect pack for day trips and hikes. It comfortably holds my 2L bladder, a windbreaker, binoculars, my GoPro gear, and even my rock hounding gear. The fit is perfect for my body type and easy to adjust. I have not used it in wet conditions yet. The one possible down side is that it's single opening on the top for access. Certainly not easy to get to items at the bottom.

I travel a lot have lots of bags and stroller bag at my home( at least 3 for each member of my family of 4) but I have never used anything like this. It is 3 kg in weight and size is perfect to be used as cabin bag for flights. There is separate space to carry 2 laptop, one ipad safely. I specially liked the side pockets which can fit big bottle and has multiple other pockets inside it secured by chain. Chain and zip are thick and of high quality. There are multiple pockets and spaces which is great to pack your things in an organized way. It has belt on the back which fits on a stroller bag when you are traveling on flights. The straps fits on your shoulder snuggly and has strap to tie it from front so that is doesn ’ t slip. It is perfect for long travel and there is so much space inside it that can surprisingly fit so much inside it. I have bought and replaced many bags because they get damaged easily when traveling long distance but I can guarantee that this Thule bag will last long and will survive harsh conditions of travel. My only complaints are two minor things. First, the bottom zipper where the sleeping bag goes can get stuck easily on the zipper guard/overhang. I bought this bag to use on a weekend hike on the AT with my thru hiking son. The bag served it ’s purpose. I was able to carry everything I needed easily in the main compartment and brain. The zip pockets on the outside are pretty useless once the main compartment is filled. Same with the water bladder. I did not use it. For the money though it ’s a good bag. It was comfortable on two 10 mile days from McAfee Knob trailhead to Daleville, VA. My torso measurement was 18 and I used the small setting on the adjuster. I tried the medium setting but the shoulder straps did not lay correctly on my back.

The first thing that I gravitated towards was the zipper closure combined with the fold over hook. I got this bag in black. The DSG Ultimate backpack 4. 0 is a very useful and functional bag, and it is light without any items in it. There are big and small pockets inside and outside of the backpack. I can easily fit in my 13 ” MacBook Pro in the laptop slot. It won ’ t be a problem to fit in a 15 ” MacBook too. Both sides of the backpack have the water bottle slot as compared to others that usually have one. Purchased to use instead of a Lew's slingpack. Positives: storage for 2 3700 packs plus the front pocket allows for storing soft plastics. Good value at the clearance price. Front waterproof pocket allows to store my phone. There are 2 clear pockets inside that I 'm using to store partial reels of line. Negatives: The Lew's had 2 mesh pockets on the side to allow for storage of tools. There is a velcro flap on the strap that I 'm using for storing a set of pliers but no option for line cutters or other small tools. Overall: I 'm happy with the quality of the pack. I have been shopping for a backpack for a few months now, reading all the reviews. I was n't quite sure what I wanted, so I ended up ordering a few different ones. This 45 L pathway 2 backpack is likely my favorite in a lot of ways. The waist strap is great with good cushioning, preferable imo to the current sytle of thin straps. The chest strap is nice too, adjustable height. The layout of pockets is pretty much spot on on this bag, I could n't ask for a better design. Even compared to more expensive brands. Super happy with this and have purchased a second. Will continue to look at high sierra in the future.

The price point allows hikers on a budget to get a great pack for their money. I 'm 6'0, 200lbs and felt the pack was very comfortable while traversing the trails with loads in the 20lb range. When I took the pack out of the box for the first time, I was amazed at just how light it was. This is a fantastic pack option for light and medium weighted loads. I 've hiked with several different high- end packs over the years with loads up to 120lbs. I did n't know what to expect out of this Gregory pack when I received it. I think it's an amazing value, especially for the packs weight. Even though the pack felt light to me, it appears very well made and nothing was designed in a cheap way….. just durable and efficient. This is a great pack for day hikes and backpacking. I could see myself utilizing this pack for up to 3- 4 day trips. The only reason for the limitation is that I probably would want to take more than 50lbs in it for an extended trip. That being said, I have n't tried carrying loads in it over 50lbs, so I ca n't tell you exactly how it would preform. The belt, shoulder straps and back are very breathable and do a good job venting heat away from your body. The zippers and clips all functioned well. One thing I would like to see improvement on is the compartment on the left shoulder straps was n't big enough to fit my sunglasses in. Gregory gave me this free product to try.

Usually light packs lack support, but I was rocking up to 40 lbs. with no issues on rolling desert hills in SE NM. The sizing guide online was spot on, which is always a worry of mine. Access to gear is excellent with openings on the bottom, side and top. NO useless design full of gimmicky pockets either, which I love the simplicity but well though out flow of the pack. The material seems durable and has held up in the rough, everything- is- sharp, desert country I have been using it in. Literally hiked with my two year old, 32 lbs. nephew in it and with him wiggling around the pack still road great!( no kids were injured in this testing). I have not had a pack I have been this excited about in years. Great pack for the beginner and expert. I can not recommend this pack more. If I had one small complaint it is that my older inReach is too big for the pocket on the shoulder strap... maybe I need to upgrade that more than the pack has an issue. Seriously if you are looking for a first or new pack, get this one! Tightens down for day hikes but big enough for longer backpacking trips as well. Buy this pack!

[ Over the past few weeks I have had the chance to test this product hiking through Utah. I loved the fit of this backpack. I have very narrow shoulders and a small waist( 29 inch) and this bag fit like a glove. The straps all had pently of room for adjustment which I appreciate in a bag. The back was extremely breathable and the shoulder straps had ample padding. The bag has all the features I typically look for in a pack such as a brain with top and bottom pockets, pockets on the waist belt, and a mesh outer pocket for quick storage. I found the side access zipper to be very useful and used it many time to reach gear deep in my bag. My only critique is the system for attaching the brain to the main compartment. It came undone when I tried to adjust it the first time and I can not for the life of me figure out how to resecure it so the brain does n't flop everywhere when open. Other than that I think this might be my new favorite bag and an excellent addition to my backpack quiver.

We bought this for my son as we got more into backpacking. This pack is versatile and handles his gear nicely. It isn ’ t unusual for him to strap the sleeping pad to the bottom of the pack. We use light gear, but definitely not all ultralight ultra compact gear. Durability is not a concern. I have a larger 80L pack and am considering getting this same pack for a more compact carry. I would say this pack could fit the bill for beginners and advanced users alike.

[ I did n't really start appreciating this backpack until I started to use it more. At first glance, it does n't seem that special, but once you really dig in, load up your stuff, test out the comfort, and then see how nice it stays, you 'll realize that High Sierra is trying to improve on a good product. All these little details add up to a compelling product that I 'm willing to pay extra for. I do n't think I 'll need a new backpack for a while since this pack is built pretty well. I 've been purchasing Camelbak packs going on 16 years and now have at least one designated to each activity I do; running, MTB, Cycling, Hiking, and working outside. I would say I still love the fit and durability of each different style I have( the one I use for working outside is the first Rogue I purchased in 2008), and I 'm really happy Camelbak finally upgraded the bite valve design, but the added magnetic clip placement still needs a more permanent home to affix to on the shoulder strap or chest strap, or something. When the only place to affix it to is somewhere along the adjustable side of the chest strap it's just never in a constant place to mindlessly clip it back in. Otherwise, I 'm still a loyal and satisfied user.

I 've used this pack for the last 4 years, carrying 35- 45lbs across up to 18 miles of travel. It rides well on the hips and the 65L version is more than enough to handle a 2- 4 day 3 season outing. I have not tested in winter yet, but with the room I have in this thing in late fall in the Mtns of SC/NC, I do n't foresee an issue. Seems to have the same technology in the belt& spine as the more expensive Osprey packs, without the upcharge for the name.

I ’ ve taken this bag hiking over 60 miles so far. I ’ m 6 ’ 1 ”, 180 pounds and it fits perfect on my back. It is a comfortable fit and has a nice gap between the frame and bag to allow airflow. The mesh side pockets do not seem very durable, not meant for heavy or sharp objects. The side straps also have a difficult time staying secured. The main compartment is spacious and easy to access and the cover has a top and bottom pocket. Overall I ’ m happy with the pack.

[ I am pretty impressed with this pack. I have a few very high end hunting packs and they always seem to cut off some hip circulation. With a 3 night off trial campsite this pack was fantastic! I was skeptical but this pack performed very well. I really liked the U- zip access, huge hip pockets, and the side pockets that I can grab a waterbottle from while wearing the pack. A couple of things I did n't like: those huge hip pockets left no room for a bear spray holster, there is no way for the lid to double as a separate pack for little jaunts from camp, and the hip belt was maxed tight on my 34 '' waist in the Med/LG frame choice. I could get the waist belt tight enough but if I stopped eating cookies...
