I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I dumped my big backpack years ago and traveled light with a gray Herschel which seemed just the right size. Then I found myself with a book, laptop, sandwich( cause you 've got to bring your own food on planes nowadays), and electronic cables and batteries until the Hershel was running out of space. I did n't want to go back to a big backpack but wanted something just a little bigger. This works! It's small enough to fit under an airline seat( see photo) but bigger and more organized on the inside. Plus my gray canvas Herschel showed dirt and stains whereas this one is jet black and has a slick surface that can be wiped off. It feels a little bigger and stiffer on the back but I 'm fine with that. You 're not going to get compliments with this one because it is plain black but it's super functional and with a lifetime guarantee I 'm not planning on getting another backpack for a long time.

Our first diaper bag backpack just did not open wide enough for us to find what we were looking for, but this one makes it easy. I use it for work and anytime I need to have my laptop and iPad on me( a lot of the time). I love how the laptop sleeve has a false bottom so when you place the laptop in the backpack it does n't accidentally knock the surface the backpack may be resting on. I use the sleeve next to the laptop sleeve for files, and it has enough space for everything I need without being too big or too small. Comfortable, no worries. This is the second one of these we own. My son has the first one, and after the first year of carrying it for school a thoroughly beating it up, it barely showed any wear or tear. The net pockets on the side were the only place that a couple of very small holes had occurred. Other than that it was in perfect condition. I like it when I do n't have to buy a new backpack every year. So this one was for my daughter. She should be good to carry it at LEAST for her last 2 years of school. I visited the peak design store for a warranty issue that was expertly resolved and laid eyes on the travel backpack. The internal design for organization and the features included were excellent. Wmith space for a 14 inch laptop and tablet, organization for SD cards, cords, included deep water bottle pockets externally and expandable design, I had to try it out for my upcoming international trip and this bag did not dissapoint. My torso is 17 '' so I purchased the S/M size expecting it to be on the shortest setting. I found I needed to have it just under the longest setting to fit me correctly with the middle of the hip belt on my iliac crest. I think you might be able to squeeze into this pack if your torso is 19 '' maximum. Easily the most comfortable pack I have tried on, very happy with my purchase.

I bought this Backpack in February of 2021 and it is my favorite bag. Since I received it, I have used it everyday and never looked back. Being a graphic designer and partial tech person at my work I have a lot of random things that are in my bag at all times. It fits my 13 inch mac book and my 13 inch ipad pro in the back pouch. I also have a bag of 50 pens as well as a pouch with numerous cables all in the big pocket. The front top pocket holds 2 portable hard drives with their necessary cables as well as a case for SD cards and flash drives. The big pocket on the front holds my computer charger and other misc items. Needless to say, it holds everything I need and probably more. The side pockets wo n't hold your wide mouth hydroflask but will your skinner water bottles. Overall if you are baseball fan and want to have a backpack that will last, Do n't hesitate! Just buy it!
