[ I bought this backpack to use in a Scouting Troop and it was a huge success. It is perfectly sized for a weekend backpacking trip( 3 days) which we used on the Appalachian Train. It is really comfortable - like having a pillow on your back - and I have a `` shotty '' back. The weight is evenly distributed through the hip pads. I got the XL size because I am 6' 3 and 275 pounds and it fits great. There are a lot of cool features too and as an added bonus it comes with a raincover too. I am thinking about getting another Osprey soon - a larger one. Seriously, this is a great pack and they have a great warranty too - lifetime.

[ Wow where to start with the beautiful piece of craftsmanship. I have used the pack for several adventures and it has performed great. I used it to haul climbing gear for a day of climbing. I ’ m a skinny guy with a longish torso and usually have trouble finding packs that are long enough and still sinch down enough around the waist. I used the back pack on a multi day unicorn hunt. I was able to pack all my camping gear and food for five days. My hunt was successful and I was even able to pack out my unicorn head for the taxidermist. The front pocket only goes halfway down the bag, which took some getting used to. You ca n't put too much weight in it or the bag is very top - heavy. This backpack is very big and sturdy and it can definitely hold a lot of whatever you need. I like that is has additional smaller pockets on the handles and straps to keep small things like wallets, cash, or cards dry and separate from the rest of the items you 're holding. the arm and waist straps are seemingly strong and easy to adjust to proper fit, and they hold the pack in place very securely. It's also nice looking and the easy to remove/attach waterproof cover is an additional plus.

It has buckles that can keep the backpack more compact, or unclipped, can expand to the full size. [ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy - style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed - in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect - able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re - close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re - close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

I have used the 8 liter bag for both backpacking and front country travel, it's great for both! I think the thickness of this bag is the perfect intersection of durable and light - good for a food bag while camping or a dirty laundry bag while traveling. I have never had a S2S buckle break on me, but it's cool that it comes with a field replaceable buckle. I 'm not totally sure what the benefit of the hang tab on the bottom of the bag is for, but I 'm sure there is a reason for it.

I use these lightweight dry bags on many caving expeditions. They are fantastic in that they hold up well and weigh almost nothing. The addition of the field repairable buckles has also really secured these as some of the best dry bags on the market. I would still prefer the seal design to be changed into more of an envelope style to ensure an even greater seal at the top but beyond that I really recommend these as long as you can put them in the secondary containment like a backpack.

Very Nice Cooler. Igloo stepped their game up! I did a 24 hour on this cooler as soon as I got it to decide if I would keep it. I put an 7lb bag of ice in it with some bottles of water. I left the cooler outside on the deck in 90 degree weather overnight. I checked at the 12 hour mark and 24 hour mark. At 24 hours the water to ice ratio from the ice was about 80% water 20% ice. The ice water was ice cold and the bottles we ice cold. This is exactly what I wanted the pack for, as most people buying it would use it for 24 hours or less. Ideally, I will be using it for maybe 12 hours max at a time so this pack is perfect for me.

It also fits a pair of flip flops. The main compartment fits his shoulder pads, elbow pads, and gloves, and has some extra room for his jersey, small towel, and clean shirt. My tent was more than 5 years old and needed some added protection. I am so glad I spent the money and time to apply this product. [ I 've been using Nikwax on my leather boots for decades but was n't aware of this product until a rep from MSR suggested I use it on an old tent fly that was losing its water repellency. This stuff works amazingly. I was probably most impressed with how it restored an old rain jacket to like - new. I subsequently used it on all my wet bags, gaiters, and packs. Be careful with overspray when applying it though. There's a section on my faux wood kitchen floor that is still slippery from the stuff.
