This is my go to brand for the last couple years, I own 8 pairs, that being said this particular shoe is my least favorite and owning 8 pairs gives me a lot to compare them to. Disappointing!! Stiff, tongue slide down while wearing, and the top of my foot hurts. I actually had to put a heel pad in because side was rubbing on my ankle. I thought they ’ d be too narrow but they have much more structure than the I, and I like the wider base of the sole on these. The black looks really nice with a few accent colors. I wish the bottom had a funky color like the others, but that ’s just me! I ’ m not a runner or athlete so haven ’ t tested these in actual fitness situations but love them for all day wear to the office. Just like the I, I did go half of a size down from my normal 7. 5 and they fit perfectly.

Not too tight on foot. A little slippage; yet I appreciated room for foot to move and expand on days our walking exceeded 6 miles during a hot summer day. I wore no show socks. I was very happy I packed these shoes for the trip and look forward to wearing more now that I am home. One note: small gravel pieces can make their way inside through mesh. I did not wear on trails or beach. And likely not ideal in heavy rain. I will wear these during spring, summer and early fall no complaints.

I normally wear a 9 but purchased a 9 1/2 in this shoe because they ran short. Also because you need room to get your foot in shoe since there is no separate tongue area- but there is some stretch to the material. Ryka shoes are my new favorites. My first Ryka purchase was a pair of Echo Knit Slip- on Sneakers and they fit like they were made specifically for my feet. Same thing with these LX Walking Sneakers. They hug the feet with no rubbing in any unwanted spots. They are lightweight, very cushioned and have excellent arch support. I have a long narrow foot and have a difficult time finding walking/running shoes that are narrow enough for my feet but Ryka, medium width are narrower than other brands I 've tried. I 'd recommend you order the wide width if you typically wear medium width in other brands. I 'd also recommend sizing up ½ size if these will be used for walking/running. I mistakenly ordered the same size as the Echo Knit Slip- ons I had- 8. 5 medium- but for running I should have ordered a half size larger. It's too late to return them because I 've already worn them outside for a run, but they are great for just wearing around. I guess I 'll need to order a 3rd pair of my new favorite shoes!!

I ordered the Merrell for the first time in years. I usually need a wide shoe but occasionally can get by with ordering a 1/2 size up in a regular width. The trouble is knowing whether I was going to be an 8. 5 or a 9 in the Merrell shoe. This 9 Merrell still fits a bit too snug for me. I also got the same pair in black in the 9 Wide and it turns out the Wide shoe will become my everyday shoe and this one will be pulled out when I need a lighter color. Very comfortable once you find the right size for yourself.
