[ I needed to replace my old cordage that I used to use for anchor building so I bought this one. It is a great cordelette for building a quad anchor!

[ Exactly what I expected. Great colours. Not too stiff. Have only used a few times indoor so far so not much to report on durability. Great for alpine quads.
5
Pete
[ Love this cordellette, perfect size for setting up a quad for an anchor. The fact that it is sewn makes it way easier to use. Not having to tie a double fisherman ’s and having the low profile sewn portion that binds the cordellette together makes a big difference in the ease of use.

[ Bought this a couple weeks ago. Sport climbed a one pitch 5. 10A and took a couple falls. Elated a friend 180lb and catches were soft. I used a Mammut 9, 5 before but this rope seems easier to manage even though it ’s thinner.

5
Colin
[ Really nice rope. Does n't feel like a piece of floss like some other skinny rope. Soft and supple right out of the bag. I would recommend this rope for steeper hard sport climbing where the rope does n't have a chance to rub as it's so skinny. I have had to chop the end twice but the first time was after a 2 week trip in the red where we only used this rope and the second time after normal wear and tear. Would highly recommend this rope for hard projecting/red pointing

[ Great quality product and true to size. Glad to finally have a tested, proven and professional third hand instead of homemade hand tied prusiks. Fits great on a locking crab too
5

[ Bought it to be used as a backup during rappel using the hitch pictured. Accidentally bought the 10mm instead of the 8mm. Tested it out today and it still works on my 9. 8mm rope, but just barely. If your rope is thinner than that, go with the 8mm instead of the 10. I could not get it to hold in a traditional prusik however.

mastercontrolprogram
[ One of my go- to ropes for canyoning. Thick enough for easy bare- handed rappelling and good control yet light weight and packs small considering it is 9mm. I think it gets a little bouncy for my taste when wet so I use it primarily in dry canyons but it has handled fine in wet canyons as well. Great abrasion resistance with its Technora sheath! I currently own three of these in different lengths
5
MtnSam
[ The Sterling Rope C- IV 9mm Rope is a fantastic rope for canyoneering. It's supple yet rugged and durable, lightweight, and stacks in a bag easily. Best used for dry canyons but can also be used in water.
5
Cream
[ Great canyoneering rope. Resistant to abrasion, sheds water well, packs down nice and is n't to heavy. I use this rope for commercial guiding and it holds up really well.
5
jknk
[ This stuff is SO light( comparable to many of the 8mm!). Since none of the components absorb water, it stays light( my 200' of this feels lighter than my 9. 5mm 60' of nylon- core after a good soaking). If I bring beginners to canyons, this is what I want them on: easy to hold( does rap fast for a 9mm), and the technora sheath makes a big difference in durability. Sandstone canyons, no edge pro( traveling light here...) 200' rappel, eight people, and some really bad edge transitions, with only a bit of light fuzzing( I was concerned the entire sheath would be gone by the fourth person). Also great for use in harsh city environments( 90 degree concrete ledges are the ultimate test). Tech is extremely hard to cut, pretty hard to abrade, and impossible to burn( had someone throw two feet of this into a fire, and we watched the core melt out, but the sheath was completely fine. Not saying it's a good idea, but at the strength of Technora, I 'd rap that). If you 're a canyoneer, caver, or urbexer, looking for something light and durable, this is my favorite.

[ I bought this rope about 7 years ago and am getting ready to retire it. It's been a great rope. It handles well and works great for top roping and sport( I 've taken it on trad climbs too, but just been the follower). It's a little thicker than lots of ropes out there now, but great for durability and an excellent beginner rope. It was stiff at first but after a few falls and uses it's great. This rope is a great price point compared with others. Petzl has great products. I 'd highly recommend this rope to anyone looking to get into climbing outside that needs a workhorse for all different kinds of climbing. It works with ATC and Grigri.

[ I 've used the rope only once but I think I 'm really going to like it. No kinks at all, handled beautifully. [ The product was exactly what I was expecting and cheaper than everywhere else, plus shipping was cheap. Love that small cordage for reslinging cans in a pinch or for top rope anchors. Although I advise against doing so unless you know the limitations of your gear.

[ At 7mm the cordage is excellent for cordelette anchoring material. I also cut a small portion to use as a prusik, which it does quite well due to its size. What I like best about the Sterling 7mm is that it ’s not overly stiff or floppy.

This rope is light and durable. I mainly use mine for taller routes and multi pitch as mine is an 80m and I like the diameter of the rope as well at a 9. 4. It's not the lightest rope but I sill love it and do n't mind hauling it. I 'd recommend to beginners, intermediate and experts alike. It will get the job done and well. Just keep it flaked properly to avoid twisting.

[ I bought this rope to use as a cordelette for building anchors at the top of trad climbs. It works really well and has excellent strength rating. I found the rope a little bit stiff when I first got it but it softened up with some usage. BTW I turned this rope into a cordelette by tying the ends together in a double fisherman's. Highly recommend. I would never lead a climb without a rope like this to string up in emergency scenarios.
5
Captainhack
[ This rope is so small compact and strong perfect for anchors it's crazy how small and strong it is but do n't under estimate its strength and make sure you tie proper knots since this is a technical cord
5
Tim777
I bought this about a month ago to use for setting up anchors on trad climbs and for top rope. I had never used Cordelette before, however, I find it extremely easy to equalize with 3 or 4 points. I was a little nervous when I first saw how small this product was, but after setting anchors and climbing on them I am really impressed with it. I would and have already trusted my life to this product. A+.

[ This Is my 1- year review on this rope. I bought this rope originally as a lighter rope for hiking out to remote caves but it soon after took place over my other ropes and goes with me to every single cave I rap into. After thousands of feet of ascending and rappelling on it, there is little to no wear on the sheath and there are no bumps or wear on the internal parts from what I can tell. I 'd trust this rope to get me out of any situation and while the 8. 5 mm size may deter some, I have had absolutely zero problems with this rope being to slick on the rappel or not giving enough grab on the ascent.

[ I bought this for rapping on multi pitch read lines whenever clean pulls are available. Lighter than a second rope but the 8mm is heavy enough not to snag or kink as much as some of the 6mm or 7mm taglines out there. Sterling ropes are always well made and this seems to handle nice and isn ’ t too heavy. At 8mm you can do some hauling if need be too. If weight is an issue check out the 7mm tagline from Sterling.

I thought I was getting the color in the picture. My fault. I was kind of disappointed with the color but have fallen in love with the green yellow purple color I got.

It ’s been a solid rope for the right price! Would definitely purchase again

Great performing, has been durable and versatile. Mostly used sport climbing and trad climbing.

I climb at a gym that only requires a 30m rope, so I can buy this rope in a 60m and use the hot knife to make two gym ropes. I put a lot of mileage and take a lot of whippers every week on this rope and can honestly say it's the best rope for the job. 9. 5mm is a perfect size( not too thick, not too thin for any GriGri), and I 've never encountered early soft spots, sheath slippage or other issues that plague other ropes since I 've switched to this rope several years ago. I have purchased three of these ropes and the quality is consistent as well!

I ’ ve used this rope for the last year as my multipitch rope, and it ’s still going strong after a few hundred pitches. After a couple weeks it did lose the dry treatment, but not an issue for me in the Sierra. I like that it comes in unique patterns, and it ’s also one of the best ropes I ’ ve used with regard to how long it ’s lasted and how well it handles.

[ Perfect for taking a beating but still able to feed through Gri Gri easily. Easy to clean and is great for a soft catch every time. Best value rope o could find.

I ’ ve been using this rope for trad and sports climbing and it works very nice, it last for long time even when working on projects and taking several falls. Love it

[ This is the first climbing rope that I have purchased, and I have taken it out twice now to top rope. I really like how the neon green pops on the rock. The rope has lots of give that makes an unexpected fall like riding a Johnny- Jump- Up. Very comfortable. I also really like the bright yellow end markers but those are tape and I think they will fall off soon. There is a middle mark on the rope, but it ’s not bright, so meh.

[ Used it today for the first time- didn ’ t have any kinks and felt great. Pretty slick though grigri at first so be careful. The center mark is pretty light but visible( could def be improved). Would recommend d.

[ These prusik cords are solidly constructed and they are perfectly stitched. I am very happy with them and feel 100% safe using them. Very happy to have bought them.

alexc
[ I bought these looking for a backup prusik to always have on my harness for rappelling, but the sizes were a little longer and took up more space than I would have liked.( I 'd prefer something several inches shorter than the red.) I think they 'd be great for ascending rope/arboreal work, but maybe not for the occasional rappel backup.
4
steve
[ Bought these for backing up rappels. They definitely get the job done, the sizes are a little odd but they work. The red one is a little bit shorter than I would like.
4
Brian
[ The sizes of the two prusiks were just right for me to use one for hands and one for feet while ascending into tree. After a full day use, they did have some burning on them, but not bad. They should last a while for me.

Finding the ideal rope is such a personal experience. Too supple or too stiff, sheathing that pills or frays. There is always something not ideal. The BD 9. 6 Dry, Bi- Pattern is perfect. The 70m line I didn ’ t know I needed. Perfect for being on the sharp end. Can ’ t wait to get on the ice with it!
5
Joseph D.
The bi- pattern makes the halfway point super easy to recognize.
5
Alec F.
Fantastic rope!! I never thought I would need the bi- pattern feature of this rope being a climber in the Midwest, but I was proven wrong on a tall climb in Wisconsin.
5
George
BD ’s 9. 6 dry rope is a great all- round rope. The bi- pattern means you will always be able to find the middle for half length rappels. The added safety is worth it.
5
Jena K.
This is my first rope for lead climbing and it ’s amazing! I ’ m used to having a gym rope that struggles to get through my grigri. The 9. 6 is perfect for that, easy to work with and the bi pattern helps with addition safety and focus. Can ’ t wait to use it for sport!

Bets rope that inspires confidence, a jack of all trades, and great thickness for anything. If you get a snag or abrasion get it cut in half, and you have a nice gym rope, with plenty of thickness for any belay device.

I get a bit peevish when my kid steps on the rope so I bought this one specifically for use at the mini crags where we climb. It is a great weight to take the beating of the sand and grit that is no doubt going to get ground into it and I like the color.

I was looking for a thicker rope to bring caving as we found a pretty large pit. This is very tough yet surprisingly supple and provides great friction. I felt plenty safe rapping on it, and the thickness also made cheating back up a pleasant experience.
5
Andrew Y.
Love the rope! I use it for sport climbing and have had several whippers on it already. Much more durable feeling than other ones I have had in the past, and it does n't feel that thick for a 10. 2 in the hands

Great alpine rope! Extremely light and easy to pack, which makes it excellent for alpine work or if you don ’ t feel like carrying a 8. 5- 10mm rope up to a route. I haven ’ t taken any big whips on the rope, but I ’ ve had to abort a few routes and it has plenty of elasticity to soak up a fall. My only complaint is that it does like to kink up after a couple climbs forcing you to ‘ untwist ’ the rope, but since it ’s so thin and light that ’s somewhat expected. If you need a light, packable, go anywhere rope this is it!
5
Soumen D
I bought a pair( orange, blue) for alpine routes. So far I really like these ropes.
5
JC D
I 'm on my second set of these ropes and they have never let me down, except when I want to to go down. Their weight, dry treatment and durability are fantastic. After a long, hard season of big ice and mixed routes, they are showing very little wear. Once the dry treatment is worn they will become my go to for multi pitch rock. I highly recommend these if you are looking to go fast and light and want the high quality that Mammut is know for.
5
Olivier V
Handle well, light, bright color. Perfect rope for your project!
5
Casey S
This is my go- to rope for anything in the alpine. From 5th class rock to glacier travel I have used this rope extensively in a variety of terrain. The bright orange is a great contrasting color. Despite its small diameter is very durable and has survived many crampons and sharp rock edges over the past year.

Have been using this for a season for alpine and ice climbing. lightweight and performs as expected. I got the orange color so the middle mark would be more noticeable over time. My friend has the blue color and the mark is invisible after a season. Have not noticed any wear but its only been one season. No complaints

Helga S
We 've been climbing on my friend's Alpine Sender Dry for a while now( she actually has two so they can be used as twin ropes) and just loved it so got our own. It's nice and light and belaying is so comfortable and lightens the load a lot for multi- pitch climbing as well as the weight carried on the approach. Mammut is may favored brand-- they come coiled in a way that does n't require any extra work to get out kinks, and they are soft and supple to use.

Keegan M
I have now used this rope a number of times ranging from Alpine Rock Climbing in Colorado and the Tetons to a glacier rope on the Ptarmigan traverse and Rainier. It is truly terrific. The rope is easy to work with, whether throwing into and out of kiwi coils to setting up a hanging belay. Overall I am quite happy and despite hard use has shown little signs of wear. The coating on the rope works quite well especially in long days on glacier with it running between dirt to water.
5
Leif M
Would I recommend this as an introductory rope for TR project sessions? Nope. Does it hit the sweet spot for versatility as a single or double rope? Absolutely. The Alpine Sender Dry has great handling and is thick enough to inspire confidence when used as a single. When used as doubles it allows groups of 3 to climb multipitch and offers improved safety over tagline tactics on double rope rappels.

[ I always pack some 550 with a carabiner already attached. I like the small light weight carabiner because I can quickly setup a ridge line only having to tie one knot. So this just made sense for me. It is hard to find the color black locally so that's a win too.

[ I bought a couple of rolls for a DIY climbing project; it was a portaledge in this case. It came out pretty redundant having 8 instead of 6 straps, compared to the ones in the market. Super good enough and held THREE people

Iris
[ I like to use webbing for building anchors. Weight and strength. This works. There are times when a static line is better, but I prefer lugging webbing. Just a word of caution, dress your knots or give up on untying.
5
skipper
[ If you need more than 30' of webbing you need to be using rope. These spools store nice. When you pull them out to get ready for a class or an outing, it's 30' of brand new web. Plenty of room on the wrapping to write the date so there's no guessing how old that `` daisy chain on the shelf '' is. Life is short, use good gear.
5
jctx04
[ I bought this for making soft tie down points for my Goldwing motorcycle when it is on a trailer. A simple cut to length with a hot knife and tied with a water knot makes custom soft ties. I also use as loop hangers for extension cords. It's cheap and easy.
