he DSG Victory Cooler is a great choice if you ’ re looking for a long duration cooler. Best part is it ’s a fraction of the cost of the other brands. My first impression of this cooler is the build quality and attention to detail. I ’ m always happy to see a product made in the USA as well. The cooler feels sturdy and well made. The lid and hinge both feel strong. I personally like the style of the latches and they are easy to open and close. The carry handles are a thick rope material with rubber grips. I found them comfortable even under the weight of a full cooler. I ’ m impressed with some of the good ideas DSG incorporated. Like the integrated bottle opener which also doubles as part of the ability to put a lock on the lid. I also found the non slip pads on the bottom of the cooler to be helpful when transporting the cooler to keep it from sliding around. I received the cooler as a gift as part of a promotion. But have given my honest opinion and review after personal use.

I have used the 48 QT DSG Victory Cooler for several trips over the last few weeks. The first thing I noticed about it was the excellent build quality and attention to details. It has comfortable rubber handles, which makes carrying it very easy on the hands. The double latch system is super easy to open& close, and the rubber gasket around the inside of the lid really prevents the cold from getting out and the outside temperature from getting in. This cooler also has a built- in bottle opener( which I have not used yet) and an over- sized knob on the attached drain plug. On both of my recent trips, I pre- chilled the cooler with a bag of ice before putting any drinks inside. From there, I simply added minimal ice( 1- 2 bags) just to see how much ice will melt over different periods of use. During my camping trip, we added one large bag of ice on day 1 and at least 40%- 50% of the ice remained on day 3. In fact, when I returned home… I forgot to empty the ice out that night and I was surprised how much ice was still down in the cooler with my remaining water bottles the next morning( day 4). During our last beach outing, I only added one small bag of ice in the cooler. We were only going out for 4 or 5 hours, so I knew we wouldn ’ t need very much. When we finally got back to our vehicle, I tried to drain the water and not much came out at all. I thought maybe the drain plug was blocked… but sure enough, there just wasn ’ t much melted water in the cooler. The cooler was in the sun for the last couple of hours, so I was surprised by how well it retained the ice inside and kept everything super cold. This is a fantastic USA- Made cooler that I can ’ t wait to use on our next family outing! I love my DSG Victory 28 Quart Performance Cooler. I recently took it out on a kayaking trip, and I was absolutely impressed with its durability. After accidentally flipping my kayak, thanks to my chunky Golden Retreiver, the cooler floated right alongside me, staying sealed and intact despite taking a dip. I was worried about it taking on water but both the seal and the insulation held up perfectly. It stayed afloat without any issues, making it easy to retrieve. It doesnt have any external plugs or random openings to compromise or any parts to worry about going missing with an active outdoor lifestyle. The added benefit of the heavy- duty handle made it simple to grab and carry even after being submerged. That handle is a beast. You could weight the cooler down with a boulder and it would hold up! I love the ability to add a lock to the cooler at the bottle opener, which adds an extra layer of security if you need to leave it unattended for a long period of time on a camping trip, where curious bears have unlocked many a cooler before. After we unloaded for the evening, we left the cooler on the dock and in the morning the ice was still in chunks. Definitely a great, all- around rugged cooler!( I am a freelance product tester.)

The Dicks Sporting Goods 28 Quart Victory Cooler is just what I need for a long day of fishing. It can keep your food and drink cold for 5 days. Holds up to 29 pounds of ice or 20 cans. A bottle opener added for your convenience. The lid latches down and the seal under the lid helps keep the inside cold. The huge and sturdy handle is perfect for 2 people carrying a fully loaded cooler. A dry weight of 18 pounds is easy with this handle as well. I can sit it in the back seat of my jeep with no problems. This cooler is tough enough to take anywhere your outdoor adventure takes you.

Let me say that Dicks Sporting Goods( DSG) has really stepped up their game in the outdoor goods market in the past couple of years. They launched a line of kayaks last year that offered great bang for your buck compared to other brands and it looks like they are bringing that same energy to the cooler market. It seems everyone is making a cooler nowadays. They all promise great ice retention and maybe a couple other options, but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is does it keep your stuff cold and does it do it for a long time? If you are looking at the DSG Victory cooler, then the answer is yes. It will also do it without breaking the bank. I was offered the opportunity to review this cooler, in exchange I received the cooler free of charge, and in return I am offering my honest review. First of all, the color on this cooler is really nice. Very deep blue with no evidence of the molding process. The edges are clean and the cooler appears very well made. It has some nice touches like anchor points built into the side, a bottle opener that doubles as a locking point to keep things secure inside, and positive locking latches. It also features a very thick rubber gasket that you can feel when you close the cooler. You can tell some real thought went into making this cooler. It ’s sturdy enough to stand on or sit on, so its great for a campsite. Second, it promises 5 days of ice retention, so I put that to the test. I put in 20 lbs of ice( it will hold almost 30), and I closed it and locked it closed. I did that on a Sunday afternoon. Each day I would slosh the cooler to judge the ice retention. On Friday afternoon it was probably 25% ice, and then on Saturday it was all water. If I had more ice in the cooler, then I think I could have added another day. So, for a trip to the beach or a weekend camping trip, this cooler is going to be perfect. Lastly, this won ’ t break your budget. Similar coolers are at least double the cost, if not triple, and you are getting the same features. And, this cooler is proudly made in the USA. You won ’ t go wrong with this cooler and I would gladly recommend this to anyone in the market for a high- performance cooler.

I ’ ve had this cooler for about a month now and it has been used many times! The ice will last for days. It ’s the perfect size for a day trip, we fit 4 lunches and drinks and had plenty of room! Can ’ t wait for boating season to come, this will be the perfect cooler.
