I had been away from ASICS for a while. I just came back, and I am glad I did. This shoe is awesome for long to recovery runs, allowing your legs much needed cushioning and energy return. I love the shoe so much, that I am tagging in their daily trainer( Novablast) for speed and tempo work. The toe box is kind of roomy, so if you prefer narrow shoes, this might not be for you.

5 Spooky Tiger
Post 4- mile run. You can tell these shoes are ment for distance, long runs, 6+ miles. A friend ran a marathon in them and the consistency of comfort stayed the whole race. I just bought a pair for a half marathon coming up. They are not built for speed or a ton of action. They do have some action and forward propulsion but the shine in stability got longer than normal runs. Maybe go 0. 5 size up, they are slightly more snug than the Nova Blast 4s. just barely though. Overall 9/10 for what they are meant for.

I am not a runner, but simply bought this shoe for its color. Now that I have worn it, I ’ ve realized I have purchased a wonderful shoe! I love how the front toe box is not narrow and does not crowd my toes. Also, very light weight! So happy with my purchase!

5 ZooFam08
I have been wearing Altras for years, usually the Escalantes or Torins. These Escalantes are great. I love zero drop shoes( and wish Altra would stop making low- drop ones!!!) with wide toe boxes. This model fits true to size( purchase your normal size for Altras.) TBD on how well these will wear- some models tend to wear out faster than others.

5 Kacey
Wonderful Comfy shoes! I have PF and can ’ t wear an arch and these Are comfy for me, breathable, and even cushy for a light shoe. Prob be good to run in if I was a runner! The online sales Person was awesome too!! Highly recommend Dicks!

THIS SHOE( altra ESCALANTE 4) IS LIKE THE ORIGINAL ESCALANTE I RAN THE MARINE CORPS MARATHON IN 2017. WHEN THE SHOES CHANGED 1. 5, 2, ETC.... I DISLIKED THE SHOE AND SWITCHED TO THE TORIN. I AM THRILLED TO BE BACK IN THE ESCALANTE. THE TONGUE, WOW WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT. RUN HAPPY MY FELLOW RUNNERS. BTW, THIS IS PROBABLY MY FIRST EVER REVIEW BECAUSE THE SHOE IS THAT GREAT.

The Hoka One One men's Bondi Sr shoe is my second pair of Hoka One One men's shoes, first recommended by my orthopedist. This recent purchase gives me two pair of Hokas so I do not need to wear the same pair two days in a row. They are supportive and very comfortable. Hoka One One has moved forward over the past several years from the downright ugly shoes I first purchased to today's styles. The down side to the shoes is that they are borderline clown shoes-- big in the forward( toe) section, not svelte.

Adding the GTS guide rails to the Addiction was a good move. This shoe is the perfect `` reset '' shoe for my feet. Very stable, not much rocking or rolling on footbed so the shoe is extremely restorative for my hips, ankles and knees. True, the Addiction GTS is not the running shoe that the Glycerin GTS or Adrenaline GTS are, but it is great for alternating to destress my joints. Great stability and slow movement shoe. Good for walking too.

5 MichaelC

[ My podiatrist recommended brooks for support and stability. The inserts and sole really give me the support I need. I originally ordered a medium but, was surprised how narrow they were. I think it was in part to the curvature of the insert. I reordered them in wide and they worked perfectly. I like the sleek look of the shoe. I would recommend them to anyone needing more stability in a shoe.

5 DebbieW
First, I am not a runner because I have arthritis in a hip. I do walk at least 2 miles outside. I was wearing another brand of shoe that was `` cushy '' but did not keep my foot from turning inward when I walked. The minute I put on these shoes, my gait changed and my feet and hips felt so supported. Please keep making these with the same support and in more colors!!

5 AnnetteB
[ I have been running in Brooks Ariels for almost 20 years. I pronate and have had plantar fasciitis several times from not wearing appropriately supportive shoes. These are the only shoes I have used that work. They 're not the floatiest of shoes, but that's a fair trade off to avoid injury.

5 AliciaM
I 've been wearing Adrenaline shoes for years, because I thought that was the maximum support I could get in a Brooks shoe. I have very flat feet, and also tend to over- pronate as I walk. Make no mistake, the Adrenaline is great, but for me personally, the Ariel is even better. I could feel the difference in the wider base, extra support, and increased stability as soon as I put the Ariel on. these really do help me feel more stable as I stand, walk, and run, while still offering a great combination of secure fit that does n't pinch. I do notice that these are just a little heavier than the Adrenaline, but that's okay. That tiny bit of heaviness is a small price to pay for the increased stability and support. If you love Adrenaline shoes but need that bit of extra support,( especially if you have flat feet and/or over- pronate), I very highly recommend these!

5 YVETTEB
[ I love this shoe. It's good cushion with great stability. More stable than the Adrenaline GTS 25. And, my feet are not sore after walking long distances, as with the Adrenakine GTS 22. The only fault is when I 'm seated, it feels a bit stiff round the ankle; it can use more cushion there. But, other than that, these shoes are excellent and look good on my feet.:-)

5 FeetsDontFailMeNow
I 've been using Superfeet insoles for decades. In ski boots, hiking boots, running shoes, etc. After trying other brands, I 've always come back to Superfeet, with the exception of Sole Performance re- corked medium insoles, but even that's a toss up. Once trimmed, the Superfeet feel good from the start and continue to serve me well for quite some time. I use them for walking distances, standing on my feet all day at work and light hikes. I have other versions of Superfeet, some discontinued, some not, but the winner( for me) is the Superfeet Run Cushion Medium Arch. I use them in Clark's, Adidas and Hoka trail and running shoes. I 'll buy them again, when needed.

5 VtreblaA
I bought these exclusively for my walking shoes that I used on a European trip. Let me just say that these are amazing! Excellent cushion for all day comfort. The heel cup is deep enough to provide the right amount of stability and the arch support is spot on. I also switched them into my running shoes and it ’s like running on a cloud! Best insole replacement I ’ ve found to date.

5 SuperfeetProponent
Summary: If you 're like me, you depend a lot on reviews when purchasing items, so given the long process for me with choosing an insole, I wanted to provide as much detail and assistance as possible. This review is for the superfeet insole product- line, not just the orange insoles. If you have plantar fasciitis related heel pain, the superfeet product- line most likely has a solution for you. It ’s very important to ensure the fit of the insole is correct, e. g. 1. size- where the arch is on your foot relative to the heel and 2. arch height- which is determined by the color, low, med or high arches. Everyone is different, so you have to find what works for you. Go to a store and simply place the multiple color insoles up to your foot while elevated. Make sure the arch lines up with your arch when the your heel is positioned in the heel cup. If not, change the size to align the arch to your foot, make sure your heel is properly placed. Superfeet provides the size chart, but remember, this is a guide and may not work for you. Buy the size that aligns the arch in the correct location relative to the heel. You can always trim the insole to fit in the shoe no matter what size insole you buy. Again, with your foot elevated, place different colors to your foot. You 're looking for the one where the arch aligns best or conforms best to your foot. For example, blue is more for a medium arch, while green and orange are more for a high arch. I tried blue at first and after a short period of time, they did not work for me. Since then, I determined that green and orange work best for my foot. I 've worn the green in my everyday shoes and orange in my running shoes b/c they provide more cushion and after a week, I 'm nearly pain free. This is a true game changer! My Background.... For those more interested in the details... I typically do n't write reviews but this PF and heel pain has been so bad for me that I felt the need to help others through my own experiences over the past year. I 'm 37 years old, 200lbs, an avid runner, e. g. 15- 25 miles per week during peaks, and have been experiencing heel pain for about a year now, however, I 've been running for 4- plus years with little heel issue prior to this past year. Stretching seemed to help at first, but after doing my own research, I 've found that focused stretching of the heel and foot for PF may do more harm than good for those with plantar fasciitis, more on that later. I 'm very frugal, so getting a$ 45-$ 50 insole was not desirable, I thought that's why I spent the money on an expensive shoe every 3 months. In hindsight, that was a mistake b/c the pain has been so unbearable that I would struggle to walk for 1- 2 days after each run, then repeat that each time I ran. A little about how I determined the color and size that was best for me. Based on my footprint, it appears I have a medium arch, so naturally, so based on reviews I initially went with the blue insole. These did not work for me. I wore the blues for a few days and they felt OK so I took them for a run. The heel pain was still there and was as considerable as its been for the past year, but since most reviews stated that there is up to a two week break- in period for the insoles, I just thought it had n't started to improve yet. Well, then after a few more days of little or no improvement, I decided to return the blues and investigate the different colors. I went to the store and did exactly what I mentioned above. I recommend going to the store to determine size and color as opposed to buying online initially, if you must buy online, buy different sizes and colors b/c the charts/guides are exactly that, just guides. It turns out the green and orange conformed better to my foot. I 'm a size 10. 5 shoe, so I used the size guide and it turns out the E worked out well for me. Note that I did not have to trim the insole to fit it in my shoe. it says it fits a 9. 5- 11, so I initially thought I might have to trim it, but did n't. Given the alignment and conformity, I purchased both insole colors, the green for everyday shoes and orange for running b/c of the higher shock absorption. I 've been wearing the green for 3 days and have already seen a significant improvement in my everyday foot pain. I also took the orange for a run today and WOW, what a difference. I can actually walk after my run. I still have a little pain, but I suspect that will go away after time since I will continue to wear these. I may switch altogether to orange in my everyday shoe along with the running shoe b/c of the shock absorption. If you examine the heel closely, the orange has a little more cushion, enough to where it makes a difference for comfort. I 've always tended towards a more cushioned insole or shoe. Basically, I think if/when you find the right superfeet insole, you do n't need 2- weeks to know which one will work best for you. If you are similar to me# and my pain was nearly unbearable), you will know within the first week if not sooner. Do n't waste your time on the wrong color if you do n't see at least a noticeable improvement. Again, pay attention to the arch location and height when choosing your color and size. This is imperative to finding a comfortable insole to improve you situation! Regarding my stretching comment from earlier, if you have PF, then you know that the first few steps in the morning are the worst. For the past month or two, I had been doing stretches religiously. First thing in the morning before even placing my foot on the ground, I would do 2 minutes of stretching on each foot using my belt to stretch out the heel. I would regularly massage the foot/heel with a tennis ball, and before bed I would ice the foot or use and frozen water bottle to massage my foot. I also periodically did the step stretch, e. g. hanging my heels over the edge of the step to stretch the PF. These stretches seem to help somewhat, but I noticed that my right foot, which did n't have as much pain as my left was getting worse once I started doing my stretching. With extensive research, I found a video posted by a podiatrist that stated that the plantar fascia does n't actually stretch or elongate. The pain you experience is actually the plantar fascia pulling on the bone that eventually over time will cause a bone spur on the heel. Either way, I 'm not a doctor, but I know that I wish I would 've seen some more detail in these reviews to help me determine which approach is best for me. I hope this helps you all in your attempt to improve your overall health.

5 Jen

The best type of running shoe for orthotics can vary based on your foot type, such as flat, neutral, or high-arched feet. High-arched feet often require shoes with extra cushioning and support to accommodate orthotics effectively.

Yes, materials play a significant role in the comfort of running shoes for orthotics. Look for shoes made with breathable mesh uppers to keep your feet cool and dry, as well as cushioned midsoles that provide shock absorption. Additionally, durable outsoles made from rubber can enhance traction and stability, contributing to a more comfortable running experience.

For wet conditions, look for shoes with water-resistant materials to keep your feet dry. In colder weather, shoes with insulation can help maintain warmth, while breathable options are ideal for hot weather to prevent overheating and discomfort.
