It took a little bit of time to get used to because of the shape of the midsole. It provides a rocking effect so it might feel weird to anyone who has n't experienced that before. However, that goes away really fast. I think it's a perfect for anyone that needs an all black pair for jobs that require long periods of standing. The outsole seems very durable so far and it 'll probably make for a long life of the shoe. The cushioning is n't made of Nike's top of the line foams, but it feels very soft. It's comparable to other Nike cushioning systems. You also ca n't beat the price range. I appreciate that it's part of the Move to Zero program as well.

I used my first pair of Vomeros last year where the second half of the Hennepin 100. This is a truly outstanding shoe, as plus as they come. Ended up using these for a summer of relatively high mileage training.( 50- 80 miles/week) and I found that they were forgiving enough to keep me going mile after a mile. Compared to my other shoes, and I typically use Brooks Hyperion Max 2s, I found it the neutral and plus right of these issues made up for their relative heft. I thought at first that their overall somewhat bulky size was going to be a problem, but it really wasn ’ t at all. Quite the contrary, I was able to run much further in these than it was in the much snappier Hyperions. I will note that the sole of this shoe is relatively minimalist and does not hold up particularly well to the high miles, but on road and path surfaces this was a non- issue. See images. I don ’ t bring this up as a knock against the shoe, but worth mentioning. I believe that the newer version has the option of an upgraded sole, which I would recommend assuming they are more bomber than the original sole.

The fit feels more snug and secure, and overall it ’s more comfortable without losing stability for lifting. It still performs great during weight training, but now has a bit more flexibility and cushioning, which makes it better for mixed workouts and moving around the gym. The design is also cleaner and more modern the 6 was solid, but the 7 feels more refined all around and is definitely worth it.

I just bought my first pair of Altra Torrin 8 and I love them. I typically wear Brooks but started developing a bunion, lateral foot and arch pain. I do a lot of walking and jogging. [ I am a ghost 16 GTX convert! I run for fun and training for small 5K ’s. My wife has always loved running in Brooks shoes but I am new to Brooks! This shoe feels wider in the toe box than a Nike zoom pegasus. It has less cushion than a hoku style shoe, but I honestly love the cushion in this shoe. I notice the comfortable feel the most while running uphill or going up stairs. Even if you aren ’ t a major runner, the style and look of this shoe is perfect! You will want to wear this shoe to work, around town, out to dinner! I feel like this show also supports my ankles well. It has the support in all the right places.

[ The Ghost 16 gtx is one of the best pair of running shoes I 've ever owned. Super comfortable and nicely snug. They are extremely light and help me go the distance when running without having my feet feel ultra tired. I love that they are nitrogen filled and help with heel support and overall impact especially on rougher terrain. The design looks super stylish with black and gray and looks like very solid shoes. I got multiple compliments from friends and neighbors. The fabric is soft to the touch. The shoe laces are good length and tie/hold easily. Overall an excellent pair of shoes all around, fits true to size as I 'm a size 9 and do n't wear our quickly. Should last a few running seasons.

[ This could be Brooks best road shoe. They feel great and look sharp. I ’ m not sure if they are called ghost because of the weight, but when I ’ m wearing these shoes I feel like I ’ m floating. They are light and flexible. I also love the monochromatic palate. I feel like they run a half size small. I took out the insole and use zero cushion socks which makes the fit much better. Overall these are wonderful shoes that seem to handle all the steps I throw at it. I am very happy I have them.
