You are just going to destroy your bike and your handlebar grips if you do n't. This attaches back on the vertical rail that runs to the back tire bolt. Super easy to install and has adjustments for shorter and taller bikes.

As long as the center frame of your bike allows for a kickstand like this, I 'd buy this. I took the rubber shoe off the bottom, I used a hacksaw and cut off some of the stand, put the shoe back on, and it installed great on my 6 year old's 16 '' bike. Did exactly what I needed it to do! And was n't$ 20+ like a lot of them were.
