[ I took this work of art backpacking with me as a Ranger for The Dyrt in the Huron - Manistee National Forest. Although this device may come at a heavier weight than many weight - conscientious backpackers would prefer, it's as sturdy as can be. For me, I 'd rather carry a few extra oz around than have to worry about my multitool getting bent or broken in my densely packed pack. Not to mention with that weight comes 20+ tools and seemingly infinite possibilities. The Surge is not only the ultimate multitool, it's the ultimate backpacking tool.

[ Just got this as a gift, messed around with it today. Better than anticipated. Really excited to start putting it to use. Feels solid and sturdy.

[ I had a first generation WAVE multi- tool before. I loved it dearly. It had everything one could possibly ask for. I used it during my time in the military and well into my civilian life. Never once had a problem with it at all because Leatherman usually( and for good reason) means quality. I was heartbroken when it was stolen from me. Kind of felt like losing an old friend, really. Funny to have such feelings towards an inanimate object, but we had done a lot together. Breaking down weapons, fixing stuff around the house, pulling hooks out of the mouths of trout and salmon among other things. It feels good to have a Leatherman again.

[ This leatherman is the best out there. It is larger than others I have owned and is strong. I have managed to break ones in the past and leatherman replaces it at no cost.

[ I own smaller models in the Leatherman line( Crunch, Charge, Juice) as well as a Victorinox Classic. The Surge is by far the heaviest multitool, perhaps a bit too much to use as EDC unless you are using the larger pliers all the time. The scissors are the best in a multitool or knife: smooth spring action, long blades, not finicky or flimsy. Top recommendation if you need this size of multitool.

Being a `` live music audio engineer '' for 30 years, I 've used EVERY multi- tool out there... SOG, by far gives me THE MOST FLEXIBILITY as far as number of USEFUL tools per multi- tool. THE HIGHEST QUALITY multi- tool available,( at any price), THE MOST OPTIONS for a multi- tool per applicable task, and THE MOST VALUE for cost vs what you 're getting! This little PP1001 - CP fits perfectly in any pocket that I have handy, yet gives me the flexibility of 18 tools with the performance of the big boys! I love, Love, LOVE it! May I add... Ya just ca n't go wrong with SOG! They 're one of the few companies that just wo n't sacrifice quality for their bottom line! Thank you SOG for the best quality and prices vs any of your competitors! God bless and take care...

I 've had this multitool for 4 months now and it's great. The opening mechanism is so smooth, it's a joy to operate. The lock can be easily operated with one hand and all of the tools can be accessed from the outside. Great little tool, perfect price, and smaller than I expected — however, its still as functional as the full - sized PowerAccess, for example. Provides a ton of function for its size and you can carry it everywhere without even having to worry about weight. It's either on me or in my pack everywhere I go. Definitely a 'recommend' from me.

I have spent years looking for a small tool which could fit on my pocket but still have full functionality. The Powerpint is the complete package!

Since the Powerpint was released, I have kept an eye out for a sale that included the Pp and my patience paid off( plus free shipping!) I have owned Leathermans, Gerber products and off brand multi- tools, but none are as feature packed, compact and smooth opening as this one. I have been disappointed with paying full price for other tools that sit in my drawer at home, but with the built in pocket clip, this tool is one to be carried and worth buying at retail price.

[ I work ER and needed to replace my old leatherman raptors. I like that this one got rid of the seatbelt cutter which on my old one just got stuff and didn ’ t open smoothly, plus they ’ re shears.. just cut the seatbelt. The polished metal isn ’ t my favorite but I think it makes the shears glide much smoother so it ’s a change I can get used to. Also these cut through clothes like butter, I just bunch everything up and cut it without any problem or strain to my hand. Definitely recommend this over the other raptors or even if you ’ re thinking of upgrading! My rating for 4 stars has to do with its bulkiness, despite ridding the seatbelt cutter, it ’s really not much “ skinnier ” than the last raptors.

I watched lots of videos, and read lots of reviews. I 'm no expert by any definition in the area of multitools. Mine arrived nicely boxed, and I was pleased with the heft and feel of the tool in my hand. Edged tools came razor sharp. Easy to open and close tools. The fine, needle - nosed pincers are my favorite tool - teeth fit together perfectly. Bits are all appropriate, although I may swap out a few - easy to do with the millions of available bits in that size. Nice sheath, belt loop, attachment points. I really like the stonewash finish. No aspect disappointing. Maybe there are better/worse tools( all subjective), but you wo n't be second - guessing yourself if you buy this SOG beauty!

I have owned the Leatherman ARC Talos for several weeks and have come to appreciate the exceptional build quality. The FREE technology comes in very handy for operating one - handed. I love the locking mechanism for the tools and the accessibility from outside of the multi tool. Does not come with a case; however, it does come with a nice pocket clip that securely holds the tool in place. Be careful when flicking the tool open with one hand: it can bite if your index finger is too close to the top of the handles.

[ I ’ ve owned several models of Leatherman and Gerber…Wave+, Charge Plus TTI, Charge Plus, Rebar, Super Tool 300, Skeletool CX, Surge, Gerber Truss and Centerdrive you name it. None of them were able to justify not carrying a pocket knife until the ARC. The magnacut blade is a game changer in the multitool space and has replaced my pocket knife with ease. The one handed opening pliers are awesome when you have your hands full as well as the ability to access the tools from the outside, again, with one hand. Different from the Free P4, Leatherman has listened and put a proper bit changer, quality scissors and a proper file into the tool. Build quality is typical top notch from Leatherman and this is a tool that will be handed down to my kids someday. I highly recommend if you ’ re on the fence!

Gerber keeps finding ways to improve multitools and driving the cost down. I have owned the original Suspension, so when the NXT came our with a pocket clip, I had to have it. I love the weight feel of this tool. I was surprised there is no stud on the blade for 1 hand opening. The Phillips screwdriver is long like a real screwdriver. The scissors are stubby, but usable. I 'm not fond of the wire spring. The tool feels good in my hand and has the basics. Just what I need. For the money, it's an effective value - priced tool with a real lifetime warranty.

We are always looking for tools that make bomb technicians work safer and easier. That is exactly what the ParaShears do. When accessing a package such as a backpack, we have tried many different EMT shears, and nothing works like the ParaShears. Shears cut clean and smooth, which when working on an IED is paramount. The hook knife cuts nylon webbing, cardboard, and you name it with ease.

After loads of research trying to find the perfect EDC MT I found it in the Dime. The tool selection is excellent in this size of EDC. Quality is above average and I 'm sure this MT will be in my inventory for generations. I 've never owned a package opener but have to say that after discovering this device on the Dime I can now enjoy birthdays and holidays without the worry of dealing with those pesky plastic packages! Better than the small Swiss Army knife. I use the knife blade most. All blades are adequate... Yes, one is hard to open but I never use it anyway. Just got to remember that the size has its positive as well as negative points. Easy to carry in my pocket. Not too big or bulky. Not an overwhelming blade to use for self defense( ha ha). But usually adequate for most of your needs.
5
Excellent tool. I have the blackout version. Blades are a little stiff but not that you ca n't safely open them with a fingernail, with use they are getting smoother and easier to open. Scissors are great, package owner is nice and the tweezers are actually nice in a pinch. Bottle opener works well and is great to use to hook to a Key Chain or to run a piece of 550 cord through. The split ring for going on a key chain is weak and really useless. I 'll be buying one for my wife and daughter.

When selecting a tactical multi-tool, consider features such as the number of tools included, the quality of the materials, and the ease of use. The right size of a tactical multi-tool depends on your specific needs and how you plan to use it. Consider factors such as portability, the number of tools you require, and the types of tasks you will be performing. A more compact multi-tool may be suitable for everyday carry, while a larger model may be better for outdoor adventures where additional tools are beneficial.

Many professionals, such as electricians, mechanics, and outdoor guides, find multi-tools invaluable for their convenience and functionality. It's important to choose a model that meets the specific demands of your profession in terms of durability and tool variety.
