I originally bought this about a month ago as a back up trap, until my sister started coming with me and she got her first fish ice fishing. The trap stands tall out of the hole about 34 ” and only about 11 ” done in the hole. All in all amazing tip up and I highly recommend!

I love these tip ups design and features. The only downfall I had was one of my wood slats broke on a big knot in the piece of wood. Dicks replaced it no questions asked

Honestly a tip - up is a tip - up, they are pretty standard, but this one has gradually become my standard, it has replaced all my other tip - ups. Its tall so you see the flag easier, the latching mechanism is great and even the way the flag stores is great. Its pricier than most other models but the few enhanced features make it worth it.

You ca n't go wrong with this trap. The drag system is very nice, the cork hook holders will keep things tidy when packing up in a hurry, and the height of this trap towers over the snow. I only ordered 3 but am planning on ordering 2 more today. When it comes to ice fishing, I do n't know why people would want to use traps like your grandfather used 60 years ago. We all spend a fortune on new rods and reels, why not get good stuff for ice fishing?

Frequently Asked Questions For Tip-Up Fishing Lines

Tip-up fishing line is a specialized type of line designed for ice fishing, specifically used with tip-up rigs. It is typically thicker and more durable than standard fishing line to withstand cold temperatures and the weight of fish. This line allows anglers to set multiple lines at different depths while monitoring the flags on the tip-ups for bites.

Tip-up fishing lines are often made from materials such as nylon or braided fibers, which provide strength and flexibility. Nylon lines are known for their stretch and shock absorption, while braided lines offer superior sensitivity and low visibility in water. Choosing the right material can enhance your fishing experience depending on the conditions and target species.

The thickness of tip-up fishing line can significantly impact its performance in various ways. Thicker lines tend to be more durable and resistant to abrasion, making them suitable for larger fish and rough ice conditions. However, thinner lines can provide better sensitivity and less visibility in the water, which may be advantageous for more cautious fish.

When selecting tip-up fishing line, consider factors such as the type of fish you are targeting, the water conditions, and the depth at which you will be fishing. Additionally, think about the line's strength, visibility, and material type to ensure it meets your specific fishing needs. It's also important to match the line with your tip-up setup for optimal performance.

While you can use regular fishing line for tip-up fishing, it is generally recommended to use line specifically designed for this purpose. Tip-up fishing lines are built to withstand the unique challenges of ice fishing, such as cold temperatures and the weight of fish. Using the right line can improve your chances of success and enhance your overall fishing experience.
