Best line on the market for the cost. Never had a problem

5 timbuk3
Fish a lot for Smallmouth in the local rivers. This stuff holds up great in 6 lb. on light equipment. It takes a lot of punishment and holds a knot. Never lost a hooked fish yet to breakage or slipping a tie. Good feel of everything.

5 Hawkin
I just noticed that no one has reviewed this fine line! I 've used it for a few seasons now for Lake Trout, Salmon and Walleyes and it is the best line I have ever used, and I 've used alot! It ties nice, does n't tangle when pulled off the reel, lays flat on the water and I 've caught some nice fish and lost less that one hand count over the years because of line failure. I 've had hooks pull right out of the lure but the knot and line held. I use 12 lb for salmon w/6 or 8 lb leader( same type as main line) and 17 lb for lake trout w/12 or 14 lb leader. I respool 8 rods every year and always did when I used Brand X but the results are definitely better with Trilene XT low vis monofilament.

5 mattyd24

I 've used Trilene line in the past but had never tried Big Game Green Fishing Line. I spooled- up my shore fishing reel with 15# line for use at the Outer Banks in N. Carolina. Berkely Big Game Fishing line is an extremely dependable product that has never let me down in many years of fishing in New England. The color green is a great all around color for Mass. salt water fish. It is my go to line for Striped Bass.....

5 Javier561

5 Bamajoe
Bought this to re- line an old reel. Made the reel feel like it was brand new. Casts very well. Great purchase.

5 Cperk11
I have used tons of different brands of fluorocarbon, mono, and braid, and the Berkeley big game is probably the best all around like there is. What's nice about it is that it does n't cost much, and they give you a ton of line on a role. I fish bass tournaments every week, and after every tournament i reline all 17 of my lews reels. I 've used the green color for awhile now, I recently found that they also make a brown berkley big game, and for here in Alabama, the brown that I 'm bout to start using is perfect considering all the dirty muddy waters we have. My only regret is that I ca n't find the brown anywhere except online, and Walmart is the only store that carries the brown that I 've found so far, but if u want a good all around line that will hold some 5- 10 lb bass 15- 20 Berkeley big game is the way to go. I go through about 1 roll of green 15 lb test and 1 roll of 20 lb test a week, and in that 2 rolls, I 've spent less than 15$ and I know by changing the line every week that I wo n't lose any fish.

5 DSZ420
This was my first jump to braided line, and I went into it with some reservations. I 'd heard that braided line is too stiff, creates a lot of birdsnests, and is costly. I can say that this product did none of the above. I am able to cast a good 25 to 30 yards extra distance over using a regular monofilament line. I am not losing nearly as many lures when fishing for bass around fallen trees and rip- rap. After the first weekend of using this brand I went back to Dick's and bought more to respool my other poles.

5 Mike

5 Kweeks10045
This stuff has been impossible to find in stores. I always had to order it. As with most people that fish a lot( 4+ times a week), we tend to be very particular about things. I have rods with braid, mono, and Florida for different applications. The ML spinning reels normally got 8lb Ande mono which has been great, but I always wanted something with less stretch. Small twitchbaits usually mean some line slack, which really plays havoc with braid after a while, especially in the wind. I really like the sufix advance. Lower stretch than regular mono, very supple, very smooth, decently tough, overall a great line. For the price, I think everyone should try it.

5 Dodgeguy
This is the best nonbraided line ever. Has less stretch than flouro and is more sensitive. Has extreme abrasion resistance but casts really well and far. Sufix hit a home run with this line. I just wish Dick's would have the green in stores.

5 guide service

5 champ 827
Use this line alot it is easy to cast and very strong and sensitive for feeling light bites. I use the 4- 6- 8lb line so I ca n't comment on the heavier lines but I have pulled up quite a few branches off the bottom without the line breaking or the knot failing! Of course I have caught many nice sized bass and pickerel on this line. I really reccomend this line for finnese fishing nedrig and neko rig and many other applications. Have no idea why this line is not available in bulk spools but I hope they will at some time! Try this line it is really good line!

very happy, always does the trick. if your looking for a great braided line this is the brand to go with

5 Joeboy77
Just a little over three years ago, I made the switch from monofilament to Power Pro ’s braid. One of my first experiences using Power Pro was when 10 LB braid hauled in a massive, 8- foot log in the strong current of a stream. I was astounded at its strength, and this served as an indicator of how it would perform over the next few years. The sensitivity with this braid is unbelievable. You will be able to feel every bite, every rock, every weed, and every time you touch the bottom. Additionally, the No- stretch allows you to instantly set the hook on fish, giving them no wiggle room and providing an instant- action feel that is awesome. Over my three years of using PowerPro, I can only remember twice when a fish broke me off. That is incredible considering how many fish I ’ ve successfully caught in that time frame. With other types of line, I can ’ t imagine how many fish I would ’ ve lost. This stuff is the standard for a reason. It ’s high quality and its strength is unmatched. I ’ ll likely stick with it for life. 10/10.

5 Octane_10
I 've used this line for years without a problem with knots coming untied. Use a planar knot when tying to baits and leave about an 1/8 '' tag on and you will not have a failure. When tying to a leader use a double uni, I have never had a knot fail yet using this system. This line is super smooth casting compared to traditional braid and is super quiet. It does not sound like a truck in reverse when reeling like traditional braid. It also is n't hard on rod eyes like traditional braid. I will continue to use this braid as long as it is available.

Frequently Asked Questions For Fishing Line for Perch

When fishing for perch, it's important to consider the type of fishing line that offers the right balance of strength and sensitivity. Monofilament lines are often favored due to their stretch and ease of handling, while fluorocarbon lines provide better invisibility underwater. The choice ultimately depends on the specific fishing conditions and techniques you plan to use.

The ideal fishing line strength for perch typically ranges from 4 to 10 pounds test. This range provides enough strength to handle the fish while maintaining sensitivity to detect bites. It's essential to match the line strength with your rod and reel setup for optimal performance.

Line diameter plays a crucial role in perch fishing as it influences both visibility and casting distance.
