[ Takes a bit of time to install if you need a battery box as well but once it is together the two items are really solid and easy to use. Only suggestion is a lock that will hold the transducer up in the air and keep it in place while moving the kayak into and out of the water.

[ I have been holding off reviewing my AutoPilot 120 for a year and a half. I wanted to put it through the grind of a full tournament season and many different weather conditions. After completing a full season, I am amazed with this kayak. The stability of the primary and secondary are unmatched to other competitor's kayaks. Spot lock on the MinnKota trolling motor is a game changer. Having the ability to sit in one spot while focusing on docks, brush piles, and deep water is vital when the wind wants to float you off your spots. There is plenty of room in the cockpit and in the stern of the kayak for so many accessories. If you are looking for a kayak that can do it all, look no further than the AutoPilot 120 or 136. You will not be disappointed.
5
MattS
One of those things that just changes your perspective on fishing forever. Spot Lock is unreal in so many situations, both fresh and salt, and combined with plenty of tank well space and the stability to stand while fishing, this is the ultimate fishing kayak bar none!

I own this kayak for 3 years now and it is the best fishing kayak out there. Having a Minn Kota trolling motor with spot lock technology is a game changer. I focus on my fishing all day hands free, feet free and do n't waste any time on the water. Highly recommended!

Excellent kayak. Seems very well built and very stable on the water. It has many great features( cup holders, very spacious, easy to stand up, comfortable seat). I have another kayak and I much prefer this one.

[ Very impressed with the workmanship of this Kayak. The seat is very comfortable and an all day sit while paddling or fishing is doable. The storage is convenient and keeps my items dry. You can stand to fish with a little practice as this kayak it very stable with the hill design. It is heavier than some cheaper models but the overall plastic thickness of the kayak is much greater than others I looked at. This also makes it more durable and in my opinion will last twice as long as other models. The rail system on both sides works well as well as the paddle holder on the side that is predrilled from the factory. If you are planning on using a fish finder the predrilled spot under the kayak is great for the transducer. Overall an excellent kayak in the mid price range.

I have had my Old Town 106 Powered By Minn Kota for approximately three years and have hundreds of miles on it. I absolutely love this kayak and all the features for existing and future upgrades to make it my own. I have numerous plans for new a Xplore unit as well as a MEGA LIVE 2 live sonar. Old Town has earned my business, and I will be a life long customer. I really like how they have integrated all the needed items into the kayak and still allowing you to `` customize '' it to make it your own. My dogs love it also!
5
TheOzarkAngler
I have taken so many trips in the MK 106 and could n't be more impressed with the unique qualities of this kayak. First, it is a great size and length for most anglers- at a length of 10' 6 it fits perfectly in a truck bed or even car top. Second, the custom motor from Minn Kota is a workhorse- with the right battery you can run this kayak all day with charge to spare. Third, it is so versatile- take out the motor and insert the cover plate and you have a perfect lightweight and stable kayak for rivers and streams.

Love this kayak! The rail systems are great for easy change out for my fresh water to salt water set up! Got a wizard anchor and diver down flag with led light. It's tough and can handle the ocean. Love the storage space! I am able to carry 2 scuba tanks set ups. 1 in front and my friends scuba tank in back. I use a tow rope and pull him out to sea on his kayak! Plus spearfishing gear fins weights for freediving trips! Loading this kayak up and it still pulls through ocean like a beast! Then I remove everything for some fresh water bass fishing. The 10ft+ length is perfect for my truck. Does n't stick out so far that I have to go buy a trailer. I wash it alot especially after the salt water and keep the cables clean and lubed. Apply some die electric grease to all the power connectors and fittings. Never had an electrical issue. Been a great kayak! Highly recommend it!

First time on the water and it performed flawlessly. Outfitted it with a LiTime 12v 100ah lithium battery and a Humminbird helix 5 fishfinder. The helix was connected to a noqua 10 ah battery. There is plenty of space in both the front and back of the boat. Turns on a dime and I was able to get a speed of 4. 2 mph easily. After 4 hours on the water the battery was barely touched. This kayak is well thought out and well built. The predrilled holes for electronics made installing the fishfinder a breeze.

Standing on this kayak is no problem. In fact trying to purposely tip it over is a challenge. This kayak maneuvers nicely and is easily rigged for fishing and trolling. Although not touted for big water I 've used this kayak on lake Michigan trolling for salmon and it's handled very well.

In my opinion this is the best fishing kayak and platform for bass fishing. When people ask me to recommend a kayak it ’s always this one. I coupled with a MinnKota 45 lb. thrust trolling motor and it moves me around well. I ’ m 5 ’ 10 ” and weigh 200. I carry a 10 lb anchor which I store under the battery cover to distribute the weight. The 360 swivel works well for me. This isnt an inexpensive kayak but you get more than what you pay for in a stabile one person fishing craft that is packed with good features. Are the flaws? Sure there are some things they might want to consider such as the raised track handles put quit a bit on leverage on the hull but having those tracks there opens up all kinds of possibilities. This was my first yak and I ca n't imagine I could have bought any better this boat is as much fun as it is functional. One suggestion for future models is a sucken battery well to lower the center of gravity a bit and to help keep the battery in place.

This year I 've added a 55lb trolling motor directly behind the seat to increase my range and tide planning. Do n't hesitate if you are serious about a solid boat, not one issue yet and I use this yak..

[ I have no complaints. This kayak is super stable on the water and can turn very quickly. It has plenty of room for what I bring with me. I ’ m a 5 ’ 11 ”, 215lb man and have no problem with stability. I can easily cast and set the hook on a fish standing up.

I spent about a year and a half living in a downtown apartment with a parking garage. I got into a PDL 106 because I could store it hanging out the back of my truck bed and still park in the garage. This kayak has all the stability and most of the space compared to a Bigwater PDL but even more maneuverability. It is a little bit slower than other PDL models but I have no problem maintaining 3mph, even into the wind. I used this kayak as my main tournament rig for two seasons, a handful of B. O. S. events and many local Oklahoma events. This kayak is the perfect compact tournament platform for those that do n't want to trailer a huge kayak. Its very easy to get on to a kayak cart and move around. The PDL drive is amazing and of course has now been proven to be the most reliable pedal drive on the market. I ca n't think of a better pedal fishing kayak that anyone can easily throw in the back of a pickup.

[ I have owned the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 for 4 years now and can tell you, this kayak embodies the name bigwater and other all is an amazing platform! It's fast, agile, stable, adaptable, and very customizable. The drill plates are really nice! They allow you to add accessories that require drilling holes to mount that accessory but you do n't have to worry about drilling into the main kayak itself. But my favorite thing about the bigwater, the PDL drive in combo with that sleek, narrow hull! The Bigwater truly is a beast but can really get moving out on the water. I 've been able to pedal it, bow into the wind and still hit 4mph- 4. 2mph! That's great for a kayak! It's hull just eats waves too. The bow has a narrow point that is designed to split waves, make it easier for the kayak to keep moving through those conditions and I ca n't tell you how nice it is to have that feature being a trout troller up in the Rocky Mountains, dealing with wind waves, chop, and heavy wind. Other all, the Old Town Bigwater PDL 132 is the perfect kayak that gives you all of the features to be an amazing fishing platform but gives you that unique kayaking experience with it's narrow hull! I 'd always recommend the bigwater!

Highly recommend this kayak to anybody interested. Easy to add on extras as well.

This is my first real kayak and I was torn between a sit in or a sit on option and then I found this! Super unique design and I ’ m very impressed with the quality of the product. My favorite feature is the skipper plugs which allow you to drain the kayak while you are in it!

I really like that I have options to choose from a sit in to sit on top. Transitioning between the two was really easy and I could do by myself. It handled really well in the water better than my other sit on top kayaks. It balances really nicely so if you ’ re not sure of your skills you will be comfortable giving kayaking a try on this. It did take 2 of us to move it. I ’ m sure a taller stronger person would have no trouble. I am 5 ’ 4 ” and used the foot rest at the very top, so there is definitely plenty of room for a taller person. But it also was a nice fit for me. The sit in top does have a lip so you could put a skirt on it, but I wouldn ’ t as there ’s is nothing on the side connection that would stop water from coming in like a rubber seal. For the small details it has a curve in the top side and strap for your paddle holder. A small cubby you could put your phone and stuff in with easy access and it ’s not on the floor. There is a lay down cup holder, which held my drink but I didn ’ t like as my bottle got wet. And sometimes I have a drink that the lid is open so I would have nowhere to put it. All together though this is a great option if you want the best of both worlds. I plan on taking this instead of my other kayaks so I can transition and enjoy the best of both!

Kayak Cliff
Wow! What a great idea. Many kayakers want a sit on top for the warmer months of the year, while they might also want a sit inside for the cooler months of the year. Or, they might want a sit inside on a summer day to keep the sun off their legs. The Cabrio 11- does both! It ’s a convertible! Pull it ’s top off for an open air sit on top experience, or put it ’s top on for a sit inside experience. It ’s your choice! My favorite feature is the little cubby hole storage area for my phone that is in easy reach just under the sit inside cover, really cool idea! This seems like a very durable kayak with its HDPE construction and I really like how Lifetime has treated the kayak to resist UV damage, like they do all of their other outdoor products! Check out the Cabrio 11- it ’s worth your time and money!

I was given the opportunity to test this kayak for Lifetime. I used to kayak a lot, both whitewater and recreational. Now I have 4 kids and I have not been able to be as active as I would have liked. This kayak caught our eye because for our kids the sit on top feature is really nice, they do not feel trapped and they like to jump on and off. For me, it was nice to have the ability to put the cover on and stay a little drier. If. I get a chance to take it on a river the cover is nice to avoid all the water coming over the edge. I really like the storage area on the back, there is a little storage at the front as well and even a small place in the cover for small items that would stay dry. the kayak is very large and stable, great for beginners, though it is very large. It is also heavy, definitely a two person job to move it and load it most of the time. The handles seem durable and are convenient for carrying the kayak to the shore. The cover comes on and off easily, my eleven year old had no problem taking it off then putting it back on. This is a great family recreation boat!

[ Found the right kayak for me. I ’ m 6 ’ 4 and 235lbs 73 years old. Needed the length and cockpit size for comfort and stability and tracking. Yet can easily carry the kayak both assembled or in the box.( With backpack or straps) Performed well in a protected( calm) salt marsh on the North Fork of LI. It ’s not for windy or choppy conditions but mostly have paddled calm water for last 35 years in hard shell boats so given the portability and performance, might be giving up my hard shell…. third time assembling got it down to 12 minutes!

[ We purchased the Beach Sport kayak for the ability to bring Tippi, our Golden Doodle along with us! We had our maiden voyage in Alamitos Bay, and paddled around Naples Canals in Long Beach California! Tippi loved it and got her sea legs going fine! We love to include her in our adventures, and the other Kayaks did not have room for her. The boat felt stable and solid for paddling in the nice calm bay. My husband paddled Mombo( the name for the new black kayak). I paddled his Coast xt — that one is a pain to assemble,( compared to my Bay ST), but the paddle is sweet and fast. My Bay St started leaking, which is also what spurred the new purchase. I paddled much more than my husband, so the Coast is in pretty good shape — but I noticed a little compromise on one of the folding corners! I might need to repair it before it leaks. We are looking forward to more adventures soon! Thank you for building these wonderful kayaks. Wendy

It took a few weeks before I could take this beauty out on its maiden voyage, but once I did it did not disappoint. I launched it from a local dock on a nearby lake and took my two kids out on what was a choppy windy day on the lake. The stability and handling of the kayak was superb considering I had my two most precious cargo on the deck of the kayak. The lake was extraordinarily choppy with 3' waves, but the kayak was stable and I was able to navigate using some previous skill. It remained a safe and fun voyage although short lived due to the roughness of the lake. The kayak did not disappoint and was beautiful to en- devour. Make sure you know where you plan to store it and how to maneuver it to where you want to store it. At just over 12' long, it is sizable.

A transducer mount for a kayak is a device that securely holds a transducer, which is essential for fish finding and depth sensing. It allows for optimal positioning of the transducer in the water, ensuring accurate readings and enhancing your fishing experience. Proper mounting can significantly improve the performance of your fish finder, making it easier to locate fish and navigate underwater terrain.
When selecting a kayak transducer mount, consider features such as adjustability, ease of installation, and compatibility with your kayak model. Look for mounts that allow for quick deployment and retraction of the transducer, as well as those made from durable materials that can withstand harsh marine environments. A good mount should also minimize drag and interference while paddling.
Yes, many transducer mounts are designed to be versatile and can be used with various types of kayaks, including sit-on-top and sit-inside models. However, it's important to check the specifications and compatibility of the mount with your specific kayak to ensure a secure fit. Some mounts may require additional accessories or modifications for optimal use.
Installing a transducer mount on your kayak typically involves securing it to the hull or a track system using provided hardware or adhesive. Most mounts come with detailed instructions for installation, making the process straightforward. Ensure that the mount is positioned correctly to allow the transducer to be submerged while keeping it accessible for adjustments.
Kayak transducer mounts are often made from durable materials such as high-grade plastics, aluminum, or stainless steel. These materials are chosen for their resistance to corrosion and ability to withstand the rigors of marine environments. It's important to select a mount that is both lightweight for easy handling and robust enough to endure exposure to water and sunlight.
Yes, transducer mounts for kayaks come in various styles, including fixed mounts, adjustable arms, and suction cup designs. Each style offers unique benefits, such as ease of use, flexibility in positioning, or the ability to quickly remove the transducer when not in use. Choosing the right style depends on your fishing needs and the type of kayak you have.
