I own a Garmin Striker Plus 7sv and wanted a unit at my console just for depth. I connected this striker plus 4 through data sharing to my Striker plus 7sv all my waypoints transferee over instantly and as I mark brush at the console they transfer over to my striker plus 7sv real time. I bought the paddle version two years ago and added a fishfinder under the front mid hole, where there is a dedicated space and later, added a string motor and foot pedals for steering. Very easy to modify and paddle. I can get 5 mph on my motor and it is very stable when standing.

[ Very impressed with the workmanship of this Kayak. The seat is very comfortable and an all day sit while paddling or fishing is doable. The storage is convenient and keeps my items dry. You can stand to fish with a little practice as this kayak it very stable with the hill design. It is heavier than some cheaper models but the overall plastic thickness of the kayak is much greater than others I looked at. This also makes it more durable and in my opinion will last twice as long as other models. The rail system on both sides works well as well as the paddle holder on the side that is predrilled from the factory. If you are planning on using a fish finder the predrilled spot under the kayak is great for the transducer. Overall an excellent kayak in the mid price range.

Brightness control via the power button can produce a quandary as to whether the brightness is turned down in bright sun or the unit is powered off. The beeps and alarms are so difficult to hear as to be worthless. Still a 5 star rating.

This review is for the Hook reveal 5 splitshot with Inland maps. I love this unit so far! I just used it to fish for jumbo perch on open water. My transducer is mounted on back of the boat, so I anchor and then drop my jig near the back of the boat. I can see the fish come in to inspect the lure, I would almost always catch a fish once I saw one on the screen. I really love the detail and I 've been using pallette 13 split with downscan as recommended. from a few friends. Most recently, I used the unit to troll for walleye, it clearly marks suspended off the bottom and has made my fishing experience more enjoyable!

[ Takes a bit of time to install if you need a battery box as well but once it is together the two items are really solid and easy to use. Only suggestion is a lock that will hold the transducer up in the air and keep it in place while moving the kayak into and out of the water.

Standing on this kayak is no problem. In fact trying to purposely tip it over is a challenge. This kayak maneuvers nicely and is easily rigged for fishing and trolling. Although not touted for big water I 've used this kayak on lake Michigan trolling for salmon and it's handled very well.
